< Sakaria 1 >

1 Ɔsram a ɛto so awotwe wɔ ɔhene Dario adedi afe a ɛto so abien mu no, Awurade asɛm baa odiyifo Sakaria a ɔyɛ Berekia babarima na ɔno nso yɛ Ido babarima nkyɛn se:
In the eighth month in the second year of Darius, this message of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo:
2 “Awurade bo fuw mo tete agyanom.
The Lord was furious with your ancestors.
3 Enti ka kyerɛ nkurɔfo no se: Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: ‘Monsan mmra me nkyɛn, na mɛsan aba mo nkyɛn,’ nea Asafo Awurade se ni.
So tell the people this message of the Lord of hosts: “Return to me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you” says the Lord of hosts.
4 Monnyɛ sɛ mo tete agyanom, a adiyifo a wodii kan no pae mu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, ‘Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: Monnan mfi mo akwammɔne ne nneyɛe bɔne ho,’ nanso wɔantie na wɔanyɛ aso amma no.
“Do not be like your ancestors to whom the former prophets cried, ‘The Lord of hosts says to turn now from your evil ways, and from your evil deeds’. They did not heed nor listen to me,” says the Lord.
5 Mo tete agyanom wɔ he mprempren? Na adiyifo no, wɔte ase daa ana?
“Your ancestors, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
6 Na me nsɛm a menam mʼasomfo adiyifo so kae no, amma mo tete agyanom no so ana? “Afei wonuu wɔn ho na wɔkae se, ‘Asafo Awurade ayɛ yɛn nea ɛfata yɛn akwan ne nneyɛe, sɛnea ɔyɛɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔbɛyɛ no.’”
But did not my words and my statutes with which I charged my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors? And they repented and said, ‘Just as the Lord of hosts planned to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our deeds, so he has dealt with us.’”
7 Na da a ɛto so aduonu anan wɔ ɔsram a ɛto so dubaako a wɔfrɛ no Sebat, wɔ ɔhene Dario adedi afe a ɛto so abien so no, Awurade asɛm baa odiyifo Sakaria a ɔyɛ Ido babarima Berekia babarima no nkyɛn.
In the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, this message of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo:
8 Anadwo no minyaa anisoadehu, mihuu ɔbarima bi a ɔte ɔpɔnkɔ kɔkɔɔ so wɔ mʼanim! Na ogyina ohuamnnua bi ntam wɔ obon a mu dɔ mu. Na apɔnkɔ kɔkɔɔ, nnodoe ne fitaa wɔ nʼakyi.
I saw in the night a man on a red horse, among the myrtle trees that were in the valley-bottom. Behind him there were horses, red, sorrel, and white.
9 Mibisae se, “Eyinom ase ne dɛn, me wura?” Ɔbɔfo a ɔne me rekasa no buae se, “Mɛkyerɛ wo dekode a wɔyɛ.”
Then said I, “My Lord, what are these?” And the messenger who was talking with me said, “I will show you what they are.”
10 Enti ɔbarima a ogyina ohuamnnua ntam no kyerɛɛ ase se, “Wɔyɛ wɔn a Awurade asoma wɔn sɛ wɔnkɔ wiase afanan nyinaa no.”
And the man who was standing among the myrtle trees answered, “They are those whom the Lord has sent to patrol the earth.”
11 Na wɔbɛka kyerɛɛ Awurade bɔfo a ogyina ohuamnnua no mu no se, “Yɛakyin afa asase no so nyinaa, na yehuu sɛ wiase nyinaa wɔ ahomegye ne asomdwoe.”
And the riders answered the messenger of the Lord who was standing among the myrtle trees, “We have gone up and down through the world and behold, all the earth is still and at peace.”
12 Afei Awurade bɔfo no kae se, “Asafo Awurade, enkosi da bɛn na wubeyi wʼahummɔbɔ afi Yerusalem ne Yuda nkurow a wo bo afuw wɔn mfirihyia aduɔson ni no so?”
Then the messenger of the Lord said, “Lord of hosts, how long will you have no pity for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah with which you have been angry for seventy years?”
13 Enti Awurade kaa akomatɔyamsɛm ne awerɛkyekyesɛm kyerɛɛ ɔbɔfo a ɔne me kasae no.
And the Lord answered the messenger who was talking with me with kind and comforting words.
14 Afei ɔbɔfo a ɔne me rekasa no kae se, “Pae mu ka saa asɛm yi: Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: ‘Metwe Yerusalem ne Sion ho ninkunu yiye,
So the messenger who was talking with me said to me, “Proclaim now that the Lord of hosts says: I am deeply concerned for Jerusalem.
15 nanso me bo afuw aman a wɔn aso mu adwo wɔn no. Na anka me bo mfuw wɔn bebree, nanso wɔmaa Israel amanehunu no boroo so.’
But I am deeply angry with the arrogant, complacent nations. I was only a little angry with Israel but they made the suffering worse.
16 “Enti nea Awurade se ni: ‘Mɛsan abehu Yerusalem mmɔbɔ, na hɔ na wɔbɛsan asi me fi. Na wɔbɛtwe susuhama mu wɔ Yerusalem so,’ nea Asafo Awurade se ni.
Therefore, says the Lord, I am turning to show mercy to Jerusalem. My temple will be rebuilt in it, says the Lord of hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.
17 “Kɔ so pae mu ka se, sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: ‘Nnepa bebu so wɔ me nkurow yi so bio, na Awurade bɛkyekye Sion werɛ bio, na wafa Yerusalem.’”
Proclaim again: Thus says the Lord of hosts: My cities will again overflow with prosperity and the Lord will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.”
18 Afei, memaa mʼani so, na mihuu mmɛn anan!
Now I looked up and saw four horns.
19 Mibisaa ɔbɔfo a ɔne me rekasa no se, “Eyinom yɛ dɛn?” Obuaa me se, “Saa mmɛn yi na ɛbɔɔ Yuda, Israel ne Yerusalem petee no.”
I said to the messenger who was talking with me, “What are these?” He answered, “These are the horns which scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”
20 Na Awurade kyerɛɛ me adwumfo anan.
Then the Lord showed me four smiths.
21 Mibisae se, “Dɛn na eyinom rebɛyɛ?” Obuae se, “Mmɛn anan no bɔɔ Yuda petee a obiara antumi amma ne ti so, nanso adwumfo yi aba sɛ wɔrebehunahuna wɔn, na watutu aman no mmɛn a wɔmemaa so tiaa Yudaman na wɔbɔɔ nnipa no petee no.”
I said, “What are these coming to do?” He answered, “The horns scattered Judah, so that no one dared lift their head. But the smiths have come to terrify them, to crush the horns of the nations which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”
