1 Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo. Koramma dwom. Muntie, mo saa nnipa yi nyinaa; monyɛ aso, mo a mowɔ wiase yi mu nyinaa,
To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Hear this, all [ye] people; give ear, all [ye] inhabitants of the world:
2 nea ɔyɛ abomfiaa ne nea odi mu, adefo ne ahiafo nyinaa.
Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
3 Mʼano bɛka anyansasɛm; nsɛm a efi me koma mu bɛma nhumu.
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart [shall be] of understanding.
4 Mɛbrɛ mʼaso ase atie mmebusɛm; na sanku na mede bɛkyerɛ mʼabisae ase.
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
5 Adɛn nti na ɛsɛ sɛ misuro, bere a nna bɔne aba, bere a amumɔyɛfo nnaadaafo atwa me ho ahyia,
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, [when] the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
6 wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wɔn ahonya so na wɔde wɔn ade dodow hoahoa wɔn ho?
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 Onipa biara rentumi nnye ne yɔnko nkwa na ɔrentumi mfa mpata biara mma Onyankopɔn,
None [of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
8 nkwa ho mpata bo yɛ den, akatua biara renso,
(For the redemption of their soul [is] precious, and it ceaseth for ever: )
9 sɛ ɛbɛma no atena ase afebɔɔ a ɔrenhu porɔwee.
That he should still live for ever, [and] not see corruption.
10 Obiara nim pefee sɛ anyansafo wu; saa ara na nkwaseafo ne agyimifo nso wu, na wogyaw wɔn ahonya hɔ ma afoforo.
For he seeth [that] wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Wɔn nna bɛyɛ wɔn afi afebɔɔ, wɔn atenae wɔ awo ntoatoaso bere a enni awiei mu, ɛmfa ho sɛ wɔde wɔn din atoto nsase so.
Their inward thought [is, that] their houses [shall continue] for ever, [and] their dwelling places to all generations; they call [their] lands after their own names.
12 Na onipa ahonya nyinaa akyi no, ɔrentena hɔ daa; ɔte sɛ mmoa a wowu no ara.
Nevertheless man [being] in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts [that] perish.
13 Eyi ne nea ɛda hɔ ma wɔn a wogye wɔn ho di, ne wɔn akyidifo a wɔfoa wɔn nsɛm so.
This their way [is] their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. (Selah)
14 Wɔte sɛ nguan, na wɔbɛkɔ ɔda mu, na owu de wɔn bɛyɛ nʼaduan. Atreneefo bedi wɔn so anɔpa; wɔn nipadua bɛporɔw wɔ ɔda mu, na wɔne wɔn adan akɛse no ntam akwan bɛware. (Sheol h7585)
Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. (Sheol h7585)
15 Nanso Onyankopɔn begye me afi ɔda mu; ampa ara, ɔde me bɛkɔ ne nkyɛn. (Sheol h7585)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Sɛ onipa nya ne ho a, mma ɛnnhaw wo; na sɛ ne fi anigye yɛ bebree a, mma ɛnnhaw wo;
Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 efisɛ, sɛ owu a ɔremmfa hwee nkɔ, nʼanuonyam ne no renkɔ amoa mu.
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Mpo ɔte ase no, ɔfaa no sɛ wɔahyira no, efisɛ wɔkamfo nnipa bere a wodi yiye,
Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and [men] will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
19 nanso ɔbɛkɔ akɔka nʼagyanom ho, wɔn a wɔrenhu nkwa hann ara da no.
He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
20 Onipa a ɔwɔ ahonya na onni nhumu no te sɛ mmoa a wowu.
Man [that is] in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts [that] perish.
