1 Anımsa, ya RAB, başımıza geleni, Bak da utancımızı gör.
Remember, LORD, what has come on us. Look, and see our reproach.
2 Mülkümüz yabancılara geçti, Evlerimiz ellere.
Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3 Öksüz kaldık, babasız, Annelerimiz dul kadınlara döndü.
We are orphans and fatherless. Our mothers are as widows.
4 Suyumuzu parayla içtik, Odunumuzu parayla almak zorunda kaldık.
We must pay for water to drink. Our wood is sold to us.
5 Bizi kovalayanlar ensemizde, Yorgun düştük, rahatımız yok.
Our pursuers are on our necks. We are weary, and have no rest.
6 Ekmek için Mısır'a, Asur'a el açtık.
We have given our hands to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
7 Atalarımız günah işledi, Ama artık onlar yok; Suçlarının cezasını biz yüklendik.
Our fathers sinned, and are no more. We have borne their iniquities.
8 Köleler üstümüzde saltanat sürüyor, Bizi ellerinden kurtaracak kimse yok.
Servants rule over us. There is no one to deliver us out of their hand.
9 Çöldeki kılıçlı haydutlar yüzünden Ekmeğimizi canımız pahasına kazanıyoruz.
We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the wilderness.
10 Kıtlığın yakıcı sıcağından Derimiz fırın gibi kızardı.
Our skin is black like an oven, because of the burning heat of famine.
11 Siyon'da kadınların, Yahuda kentlerinde erden kızların ırzına geçtiler.
They ravished the women in Zion, the virgins in the cities of Judah.
12 Önderler ellerinden asıldı, Yaşlılar saygı görmedi.
Princes were hanged up by their hands. The faces of elders were not honored.
13 Değirmen taşını gençler çevirdi, Çocuklar odun yükü altında tökezledi.
The young men carry millstones. The children stumbled under loads of wood.
14 Yaşlılar kent kapısında oturmaz oldu, Gençler saz çalmaz oldu.
The elders have ceased from the gate, and the young men from their music.
15 Yüreğimizin sevinci durdu, Oyunumuz yasa döndü.
The joy of our heart has ceased. Our dance is turned into mourning.
16 Taç düştü başımızdan, Vay başımıza! Çünkü günah işledik.
The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned!
17 Bu yüzden yüreğimiz baygın, Bunlardan ötürü gözlerimiz karardı.
For this our heart is faint. For these things our eyes are dim:
18 Viran olan Siyon Dağı'nın üstünde Çakallar geziyor!
for the mountain of Zion, which is desolate. The foxes walk on it.
19 Ama sen, sonsuza dek tahtında oturursun, ya RAB, Egemenliğin kuşaklar boyu sürer.
You, LORD, remain forever. Your throne is from generation to generation.
20 Niçin bizi hep unutuyorsun, Neden bizi uzun süre terk ediyorsun?
Why do you forget us forever, and forsake us for so long a time?
21 Bizi kendine döndür, ya RAB, döneriz, Eski günlerimizi geri ver.
Turn us to yourself, LORD, and we will be turned. Renew our days as of old.
22 Bizi büsbütün attıysan, Bize çok öfkelenmiş olmalısın.
But you have utterly rejected us. You are very angry against us.
