1 Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina, ko e Saame pe ko e Hiva ʻa ʻAsafi. ‌ʻOku ʻilo ʻae ʻOtua ʻi Siuta: ʻOku lahi hono huafa ʻi ʻIsileli.
For the end, among the Hymns, a Psalm for Asaph; a Song for the Assyrian. God is known in Judea: his name is great in Israel.
2 ‌ʻOku ʻi Selemi foki hono fale fehikitaki, mo hono ʻafioʻanga ʻi Saione.
And his place has been in peace, and his dwelling-place in Sion.
3 Naʻe fesifesi ʻe ia ʻi ai ʻae ngaahi ngahau ʻoe kaufana, ʻae fakaū, mo e heletā, mo e tau. (Sila)
There he broke the power of the bows, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Pause)
4 ‌ʻOku ke nāunauʻia mo lelei lahi hake ʻa koe ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga ʻoe fakamālohi.
You do wonderfully shine forth from the everlasting mountains.
5 Kuo ikuna ʻae kau loto mālohi, kuo nau mohe ʻi heʻenau mohe: pea ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻi he kau tangata mālohi ʻoku ʻilo honau nima.
All the simple ones in heart were troubled; all the men of wealth have slept their sleep, and have found nothing in their hands.
6 ‌ʻE ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope, ʻi hoʻo tautea kuo ke lī fakatouʻosi pē ʻae saliote mo e hoosi ki he mohe ʻoe mate.
At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, the riders on horses slumbered.
7 Ko koe, ʻio, ko koe, ko e manavahēʻia: pea ko hai ʻe faʻa tuʻu ʻi ho ʻao ʻoka ke ka houhau?
You are terrible; and who shall withstand you, because of your anger?
8 Naʻa ke fakaongoʻi ʻae fakamaau mei he langi; naʻe manavahē ai ʻa māmani, ʻo tuʻu taʻengaue,
You did cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
9 ‌ʻI he tuʻu hake ʻae ʻOtua ki he fakamaau, ke fakamoʻui ʻae kau angavaivai kotoa pē ʻo māmani. (Sila)
when God arose to judgment, to save all the meek in heart. (Pause)
10 Ko e moʻoni ʻe fakaongolelei koe ʻe he ʻita ʻae tangata: pea ko hono toe ʻoe ʻita te ke lolomi.
For the inward thought of man shall give thanks to you: and the memorial of his inward thought shall keep a feast to you.
11 Mou fuakava, ʻo fai ia kia Sihova ko homou ʻOtua: tuku ke ʻomi ʻae ngaahi meʻaʻofa kiate ia ʻoku totonu ke manavahē ki ai, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku nofo ʻo takatakai ia.
Vow, and pay [your vows] to the Lord our God; all that are round about him shall bring gifts, [even] to him that is terrible,
12 ‌ʻE motuhi ʻe ia ʻae loto lahi ʻoe houʻeiki: ʻoku fakailifia ia ki he ngaahi tuʻi ʻo māmani.
and that takes away the spirits of princes; to him that is terrible among the kings of the earth.
