9 ‌ʻE fakamaʻa ʻe he tangata talavou hono hala ʻi he hā? ʻI heʻene tokanga ki ai ʻo hangē ko hoʻo folofola.

With my whole heart have I sought after thee: let me not stray from thy commandments.

Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law.
19 Ko e muli au ʻi māmani: ʻoua naʻa fufū hoʻo ngaahi fekau ʻiate au.
I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20 ‌ʻOku mafesi hoku laumālie koeʻuhi ko ʻene holi ki hoʻo ngaahi fakamaau ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.

Remove from reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies.
For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications.
24 Ko hoʻo ngaahi fakamoʻoni foki ko hoku fiefiaʻanga ia, mo hoku ngaahi akonakiʻi.
For thy testimonies are my (meditation) and thy justifications my counsel.
25 ‌ʻOku pikitai ʻa hoku laumālie ki he efu: ke ke fakamoʻui au ʻo hangē ko hoʻo folofola.

28 Kuo vai ʻa hoku laumālie koeʻuhi ko e ongosia: fakamālohiʻi au ʻo hangē ko hoʻo folofola.
My soul hath slumbered through heaviness: strengthen thou me in thy words.
29 Ke ke hiki ʻiate au ʻae hala ʻoe loi, pea ke tuku mai hoʻo fono kiate au ʻi he ʻofa.
Remove from me the way of iniquity: and out of thy law have mercy on me.

I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments I have not forgotten.
I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame.

I have run the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.
33 ‌ʻE Sihova, ke ke ako kiate au ʻae hala ʻo hoʻo ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni; pea te u fai ki ai ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga.
HE. Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it.
34 Foaki mai kiate au ʻae faʻa ʻilo, pea te u fai ki hoʻo fono; ʻio, te u tokanga ki ai ʻaki hoku loto kotoa pē.
Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; and I will keep it with my whole heart.

Lead me into the path of thy commandments; for this same I have desired.
36 Fakatokangaʻi hoku loto ki hoʻo ngaahi fakamoʻoni, kae ʻikai ki he manumanu.
Incline my heart into thy testimonies and not to covetousness.
37 Taʻofi hoku mata mei he vakai ki he meʻa vaʻinga; pea ke fakaakeake au ʻi ho hala.
Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: quicken me in thy way.
38 Fakamoʻoni hoʻo folofola ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, ʻaia ʻoku fakaʻapaʻapa kiate koe.
Establish thy word to thy servant, in thy fear.
39 Taʻofi atu hoku manukia ʻaia ʻoku ou manavahē ai: he ʻoku lelei hoʻo ngaahi fakamaau.
Turn away my reproach, which I have apprehended: for thy judgments are delightful.
40 Vakai, ʻoku ou holi ki hoʻo ngaahi akonaki: fakamoʻui au ʻi ho māʻoniʻoni.
Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice.
41 ‌ʻE Sihova, tuku ke hoko foki hoʻo ngaahi ʻaloʻofa kiate au, ʻio, ko hoʻo fakamoʻui, ʻo hangē ko hoʻo folofola.

So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words.
And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words have I hoped exceedingly.
So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever.
45 Pea te u ʻeveʻeva ʻi he tauʻatāina: he ʻoku ou kumi ki hoʻo ngaahi akonaki.
And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments.
46 Te u lea foki ki hoʻo ngaahi fakamoʻoni ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi, pea ʻe ʻikai te u mā ai.
And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed.
47 Pea te u fakafiefiaʻi au ʻi hoʻo ngaahi fekau, ʻaia kuo u ʻofa ki ai.
I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved.
And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications.
49 Manatuʻi ʻae folofola ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, ʻaia kuo ke fakaʻamanakiʻi au ki ai.

This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.
51 Kuo manuki lahi kiate au ʻae laukau: ka naʻe ʻikai te u afe mei hoʻo fono.
The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.

53 Kuo pukea au ʻe he ilifia koeʻuhi ko e angahala kuo nau siʻaki hoʻo fono.
A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54 Ko hoʻo ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni ko ʻeku hiva ia ʻi he fale ʻo ʻeku ʻāunofo.
Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage.
55 ‌ʻE Sihova, kuo u manatu ki ho huafa ʻi he pō, pea u fai ki hoʻo fono.
In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law.
56 Naʻaku maʻu eni, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻeku fai ki hoʻo ngaahi akonaki.
This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications.
HETH. O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep the law.

I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments.
61 Kuo kaihaʻasia au ʻe he ngaahi kaihaʻakau ʻoe kau angahala: ka naʻe ʻikai ngalo ʻiate au ʻa hoʻo fono.
The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
