< Hapakuki 2 >

1 Te u tuʻu ʻi heʻeku leʻo, pea u nofo ʻi hoku fale leʻo, pea te u leʻo ke ʻilo pe ko e hā te ne folofola mai kiate au, pea ko e hā te u tali ʻaki ʻoka valokiʻi au.
I will stand upon my watch, and mount upon the rock, and watch to see what he will say by me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2 Pea naʻe folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē, “Tohi ʻae meʻa hā mai, pea fai ke ʻilongofua ia ʻi he ngaahi palepale, koeʻuhi ke faʻa lele ʻe ia ʻoku ne lau ia.
And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision, and [that] plainly on a tablet, that he that reads it may run.
3 He ʻoku tuku ʻae meʻa hā mai ki ha kuonga kuo kotofa, pea ʻe lea ia ʻi he ngataʻanga, ka ʻe ʻikai loi: kapau ʻoku tuai ia, tatali ki ai, koeʻuhi ʻe hoko moʻoni ia, ʻe ʻikai tuai ia.
For the vision [is] yet for a time, and it shall shoot forth at the end, and not in vain: though he should wait, wait for him; for he will surely come, and will not wait.
4 Vakai, ko ia ʻoku hiki hake ʻa hono laumālie, ʻoku ʻikai angatonu ia ʻiate ia ka ko e tonuhia ʻe moʻui ʻi heʻene tui.”
If he should draw back, my soul has no pleasure in him: but the just shall live by my faith.
5 Ko e moʻoni, hangē ko e tangata ʻoku angahala ʻi he uaine, ʻoku fielahi ia, pea ʻoku ʻikai nofomaʻu ʻi hono ʻapi: ʻoku ne fakalahi ʻene holi ʻo hangē ko e faʻitoka, pea tatau mo e mate, pea ʻoku ʻikai ke mākona, ka ʻoku tānaki kiate ia ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē, pea ʻoku fokotuʻu ki ai ʻae kakai kotoa pē: (Sheol h7585)
But the arrogant man and the scorner, the boastful man, shall not finish anything; who has enlarged his desire as the grave, and like death he is never satisfied, and he will gather to himself all the nations, and will receive to himself all the peoples. (Sheol h7585)
6 ‌ʻE ʻikai toʻo hake ʻekinautolu ni kotoa pē ʻae lea fakatātā kiate ia, pea mo e lea taukae kiate ia, ʻo pehē, ‘Ke malaʻia kiate ia ʻoku fakalahi ʻaki ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ʻaʻana! ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa? Pea kiate ia ʻoku fakamamafa ʻaki ʻe ia ʻae ʻumea matolu!’
Shall not all these take up a parable against him? and a proverb to tell against him? and they shall say, Woe to him that multiplies to himself the possessions which are not his! how long? and who heavily loads his yoke.
7 ‌ʻIkai ʻe tuʻu hake fakafokifā ʻakinautolu ʻo ʻuusi koe, pea ʻā ʻaia ʻe fakaʻitaʻi koe, pea ʻe hoko koe ko e vetea kiate kinautolu?
For suddenly there shall arise up those that bite him, and they that plot against you shall awake, and you shall be a plunder to them.
8 Koeʻuhi kuo ke fakamālohi ki he ngaahi puleʻanga lahi, ʻe fakamālohiʻi koe ʻe he toenga kotoa pē ʻoe kakai; koeʻuhi ko e toto ʻoe kakai, mo e fakamālohi ki he fonua, mo e kolo, mo kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku nofo ai.
Because you have spoiled many nations, all the nations that are left shall spoil [you], because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.
9 Ke malaʻia kiate ia ʻoku manumanu ki he koloa kovi ki hono fale, koeʻuhi ke ne ngaohi hono pununga ʻi he māʻolunga, koeʻuhi ke fakahaofi ia mei he mālohi ʻoe kovi!
Woe to him that covets an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evils.
10 Kuo ke filioʻi ʻae fakamā ki ho fale ʻi he tuʻusi ʻoe kakai tokolahi, pea kuo ke angahala ki ho laumālie.
You have devised shame to your house, you have utterly destroyed many nations, and your soul has sinned.
11 ‌ʻE tangi ʻae maka mei he ʻā, pea ʻe tali ia ʻe he ʻakau alanga fale.
For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beetle out of the timber shall speak.
12 Ke malaʻia kiate ia ʻoku langa ʻae kolo ʻaki ʻae toto, pea fokotuʻu ʻae kolo ʻi he angahala!
Woe to him that builds a city with blood, and establishes a city by unrighteousness.
13 Vakai, ʻikai ʻoku meia Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻae kakai maʻa e afi pe, pea mo e fakamamahiʻi ʻae kakai ʻekinautolu ʻi he vaʻinga moʻoni?
Are not these things of the Lord Almighty? surely many people have been exhausted in the fire, and many nations have fainted.
14 Koeʻuhi ʻe fakafonu ʻa māmani ʻi he ʻilo ki he nāunau ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ʻoku ʻufiʻufi ʻae kilisi tahi ʻe he ngaahi vai.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord; it shall cover them as water.
15 “Ke malaʻia kiate ia ʻoku ne ʻatu ʻae inu kona ki hono kaungāʻapi, ʻa koe ʻoku tuku hoʻo hina kiate ia, pea ke fakakona foki ia, koeʻuhi ke ke sio ki heʻenau telefua!
Woe to him that gives his neighbour to drink the thick lees [of wine], and intoxicates [him], that he may look upon their secret parts.
16 Kuo fakapito ʻaki koe ʻae fakamā ko ho nāunau: ke ke inu foki, pea ʻe puke koe ʻi he tetetete mo e ofo lahi: ʻe ʻatu kiate koe ʻae ipu mei he nima toʻomataʻu ʻo Sihova, pea ʻe fakalieliaʻi ho nāunau.
Drink you also [your] fill of disgrace instead of glory: shake, O heart, and quake, the cup of the right hand of the Lord has come round upon you, and dishonour has gathered upon your glory.
17 Koeʻuhi ʻe ʻufiʻufi koe ʻe he mālohi ʻo Lepanoni, mo e fakamālohiʻi ʻoe fanga manu, ʻaia naʻe fakamanavahēʻi ʻakinautolu; koeʻuhi ko e toto ʻoe kakai, pea koeʻuhi ko e fakamālohi ʻi he fonua, mo e kolo, mo kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku nofo ai.
For the ungodliness of Libanus shall cover you, and distress because of wild beasts shall dismay you, because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.
18 “Ko e hā hono ʻaonga ʻoe fakatātā kuo tā, koeʻuhi ke tā ia ʻe he tufunga ʻo ia; pe ko e fakatātā haka, mo e akonaki loi, koeʻuhi ʻoku falala ʻae tufunga ki heʻene ngāue, ke ne ngaohi ʻae ngaahi tamapua noa?
What profit it the graven image, that they have graven it? [one] has made it a molten work, a false image; for the maker has trusted in his work, to make dumb idols.
19 Ke malaʻia kiate ia ʻoku pehē ki he ʻakau, ‘Ke ʻā;’ pe ki he maka noa, ‘Tuʻu hake; ʻe akonaki ia!’ Vakai, ʻoku ʻufiʻufi ʻaki ia ʻae koula, mo e siliva, pea ʻoku ʻikai ʻaupito ha mānava ʻi loto ʻiate ia.
Woe to him that says to the wood, Awake, arise; and to the stone, Be you exalted! whereas it is an image, and this is a casting of gold and silver, and there is no breath in it.
20 Ka ʻoku ʻi hono ʻafioʻanga tapu ʻa Sihova: tuku ke longo pe ʻa māmani kotoa pē ʻi hono ʻao.
But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth fear before him.
