< 2 Tesalonaika 1 >

1 Ko Paula, mo Silivenusi, mo Timote, ki he siasi ʻoe kakai Tesalonika ʻoku ʻi he ʻOtua ko ʻetau Tamai mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi:
To the Thessalonian church in union with God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, From Paul, Silas, and Timothy.
2 Ke ʻiate kimoutolu ʻae ʻaloʻofa, mo e melino, mei he ʻOtua ko ʻetau Tamai mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.
May God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and give you peace.
3 ‌ʻOku totonu ʻemau fakafetaʻi maʻuaipē ki he ʻOtua koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu, ʻe kāinga, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻoku taau, koeʻuhi ʻoku tupu ʻo lahi ʻaupito ʻaupito hoʻomou tui, pea ʻoku tupulekina ʻa hoʻomou feʻofaʻaki kiate kimoutolu kotoa pē;
Friends, it is our duty always to thank God about you, as is but right, considering the wonderful growth of your faith, and because, without exception, your love for one another is continually increasing.
4 Ko ia ʻoku mau vikiviki koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu ki he ngaahi siasi ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻi hoʻomou faʻa kātaki mo e tui, ʻi homou ngaahi fakatanga kotoa pē, mo e ngaahi mamahi, ʻoku mou faʻa kātakiʻi:
So much is this the case that we ourselves speak with pride, before the churches of God, of the patience and faith which you have shown, in spite of all the persecutions and troubles that you are enduring.
5 [ʻAia ]ko e fakaʻilonga ʻoe fakamaau totonu ʻoe ʻOtua, koeʻuhi ke lau ʻakimoutolu ʻoku mou taau mo e puleʻanga ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻoku mou mamahi ai foki:
These persecutions will vindicate the justice of God’s judgment, and will result in your being reckoned worthy of God’s kingdom, for the sake of which you are now suffering;
6 He ko e meʻa totonu ʻi he ʻOtua ke totongi ʻaki ʻae mamahi kiate kinautolu ʻoku fakamamahiʻi ʻakimoutolu;
since God deems it just to inflict suffering on those who are now inflicting suffering on you,
7 Ka kiate kimoutolu ʻoku mamahi, ko e fiemālie mo kimautolu, ʻoka fakahā mai ʻae ʻEiki ko Sisu mei he langi mo ʻene kau ʻāngelo mālohi,
and to give relief to you who are suffering, as well as to us, at the appearing of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire.
8 ‌ʻI he afi uloulo mo e fai totongi kiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻikai te nau ʻilo ʻae ʻOtua, pea ʻoku ʻikai talangofua ki he ongoongolelei ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi:
Then he will inflict punishment on those who refuse to know God, and on those who turn a deaf ear to the good news of Jesus, our Lord.
9 ‌ʻAkinautolu ʻe tautea ʻaki ʻae fakaʻauha taʻengata mei he ʻao ʻoe ʻEiki, pea mei he nāunau ʻo ʻene māfimafi; (aiōnios g166)
They will pay the penalty of unutterable ruin – banished from the presence of the Lord and from the glorious manifestation of his might, (aiōnios g166)
10 ‌ʻOka haʻu ia ke fakahikihikiʻi ʻe heʻene kakai māʻoniʻoni, pea ke fakatumutumu ai, ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku tui; he naʻa mou tui ki he ʻemau fakamoʻoni ʻiate kimoutolu.
when he comes to be honored in his people, and to be revered in all who have learned to believe in him (for you also believed our testimony) – as he will be on that day.
11 Ko ia foki ʻoku mau lotua maʻuaipē ʻakimoutolu, koeʻuhi ke lau ʻe hotau ʻOtua ʻoku mou taau mo e ui [ni], ke ne fakakakato ʻae finangalo lelei kotoa pē ʻo [ʻene ]angalelei, mo e ngaue ʻae tui, ʻi he mālohi:
With this in view, our constant prayer for you is that our God may count you worthy of the call that you have received, and by his power make perfect your delight in all goodness and the efforts that have resulted from your faith.
12 Koeʻuhi ke ongoongoleleiʻia ʻae huafa ʻo hotau ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi ʻiate kimoutolu, mo kimoutolu ʻiate ia, ʻo fakatatau ki he ʻofa ʻa hotau ʻOtua mo e ʻEiki ko Sisu Kalaisi.
Then, in the loving kindness of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ, will the name of Jesus, our Lord, be honored in you, and you in him.
