சங்கீதம் 73

1 ௧ ஆசாபின் பாடல். சுத்த இருதயமுள்ளவர்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு தேவன் நல்லவராகவே இருக்கிறார்.

`The salm of Asaph. God of Israel is ful good; to hem that ben of riytful herte.

2 ௨ ஆனாலும் என்னுடைய கால்கள் தள்ளாடுதலுக்கும், என்னுடைய அடிகள் சறுக்குதலுக்கும் சற்றே தப்பியது.

But my feet weren moued almeest; my steppis weren sched out almeest.

3 ௩ துன்மார்க்கர்களின் வாழ்வை நான் காணும்போது, வீம்புக்காரர்களாகிய அவர்கள்மேல் பொறாமை கொண்டேன்.

For Y louede feruentli on wickid men; seynge the pees of synneris.

4 ௪ மரணம்வரை அவர்களுக்கு வேதனை இல்லை; அவர்களுடைய பெலன் உறுதியாக இருக்கிறது.

For biholdyng is not to the deth of hem; and stidefastnesse in the sikenesse of hem.

5 ௫ மனிதர்கள்படும் வருத்தத்தில் அகப்படமாட்டார்கள்; மனிதர்கள் அடையும் உபத்திரவத்தை அடையமாட்டார்கள்.

Thei ben not in the trauel of men; and thei schulen not be betun with men.

6 ௬ ஆகையால் பெருமை கழுத்து அணிகலன்போல அவர்களைச் சுற்றிக்கொள்ளும், கொடுமை ஆடையைப்போல் அவர்களை மூடிக்கொள்ளும்.

Therfore pride helde hem; thei weren hilid with her wickidnesse and vnfeithfulnesse.

7 ௭ அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் கொழுப்பினால் எடுப்பாகப் பார்க்கிறது; அவர்கள் இருதயம் விரும்புவதிலும் அதிகமாக நடக்கிறது.

The wickidnesse of hem cam forth as of fatnesse; thei yeden in to desire of herte.

8 ௮ அவர்கள் சீர்கெட்டுப்போய், அகந்தையாகக் கொடுமை பேசுகிறார்கள்; பெருமையாகப் பேசுகிறார்கள்.

Thei thouyten and spaken weiwardnesse; thei spaken wickidnesse an hiy.

9 ௯ தங்களுடைய வாய் வானம்வரை எட்டப் பேசுகிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய நாவு பூமியெங்கும் உலாவுகிறது.

Thei puttiden her mouth in to heuene; and her tunge passide in erthe.

10 ௧0 ஆகையால் அவருடைய மக்கள் இந்த வழியாகவே திரும்புகிறார்கள்; தண்ணீர்கள் அவர்களுக்குப் பரிபூரணமாகச் சுரந்துவரும்.

Therfor my puple schal be conuertid here; and fulle daies schulen be foundun in hem.

11 ௧௧ தேவனுக்கு அது எப்படித் தெரியும்? உன்னதமானவருக்கு அதைப்பற்றி அறிவு உண்டோ? என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.

And thei seiden, How woot God; and whether kunnyng is an heiye, `that is, in heuene?

12 ௧௨ இதோ, இவர்கள் துன்மார்க்கர்கள்; இவர்கள் என்றும் சுகமாக வாழ்கிறவர்களாயிருந்து, சொத்தைப் பெருகச்செய்கிறார்கள்.

Lo! thilke synneris and hauynge aboundance in the world; helden richessis.

13 ௧௩ நான் வீணாகவே என்னுடைய இருதயத்தைச் சுத்தம்செய்து, குற்றமில்லாமையிலே என்னுடைய கைகளைக் கழுவினேன்.

And Y seide, Therfor without cause Y iustifiede myn herte; and waischide myn hoondis among innocentis.

14 ௧௪ நாள்தோறும் நான் வாதிக்கப்பட்டும், காலைதோறும் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டும் இருக்கிறேன்.

And Y was betun al dai; and my chastisyng was in morutidis.

15 ௧௫ இந்த விதமாகப் பேசுவேன் என்று நான் சொன்னால், இதோ, உம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளின் சந்ததிக்குத் துரோகியாவேன்.

If Y seide, Y schal telle thus; lo! Y repreuede the nacioun of thi sones.

16 ௧௬ இதை அறியும்படிக்கு யோசித்துப்பார்த்தேன்; நான் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திற்குள் நுழைந்து,

I gesside, that Y schulde knowe this; trauel is bifore me.

17 ௧௭ அவர்கள் முடிவைக் கவனித்து உணரும்வரை, அது என்னுடைய பார்வைக்கு கடினமாக இருந்தது.

Til Y entre in to the seyntuarie of God; and vndurstonde in the last thingis of hem.

18 ௧௮ நிச்சயமாகவே நீர் அவர்களைச் சறுக்கலான இடங்களில் நிறுத்தி, பாழான இடங்களில் விழச்செய்கிறீர்.

Netheles for gilis thou hast put to hem; thou castidist hem doun, while thei weren reisid.

19 ௧௯ அவர்கள் ஒரு நிமிடத்தில் எவ்வளவு பாழாகிப்போகிறார்கள்! பயங்கரங்களால் அழிந்து ஒன்றுமில்லாமல் போகிறார்கள்.

Hou ben thei maad into desolacioun; thei failiden sodeynli, thei perischiden for her wickidnesse.

20 ௨0 தூக்கம் தெளிந்தவுடனே சொப்பனம் ஒழிவதுபோல், ஆண்டவரே, நீர் விழிக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் வேஷத்தை கலைத்துவிடுவீர்.

As the dreem of men that risen; Lord, thou schalt dryue her ymage to nouyt in thi citee.

21 ௨௧ இப்படியாக என்னுடைய மனம் கசந்தது, என்னுடைய உள்மனதிலே குத்தப்பட்டேன்.

For myn herte is enflaumed, and my reynes ben chaungid;

22 ௨௨ நான் காரியம் அறியாத மூடனானேன்; உமக்கு முன்பாக மிருகம் போலிருந்தேன்.

and Y am dryuun to nouyt, and Y wiste not.

23 ௨௩ ஆனாலும் நான் எப்பொழுதும் உம்மோடிருக்கிறேன்; என்னுடைய வலதுகையைப் பிடித்துத் தாங்குகிறீர்.

As a werk beeste Y am maad at thee; and Y am euere with thee.

24 ௨௪ உம்முடைய ஆலோசனையின்படி நீர் என்னை நடத்தி, முடிவிலே என்னை மகிமையில் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வீர்.

Thou heldist my riythond, and in thi wille thou leddist me forth; and with glorie thou tokist me vp.

25 ௨௫ பரலோகத்தில் உம்மையல்லாமல் எனக்கு யார் உண்டு? பூலோகத்தில் உம்மைத் தவிர எனக்கு வேறே விருப்பமில்லை.

For whi what is to me in heuene; and what wolde Y of thee on erthe?

26 ௨௬ என்னுடைய சரீரமும் என்னுடைய இருதயமும் வளர்ச்சியில்லாமல் போகிறது; தேவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் என்னுடைய இருதயத்தின் கன்மலையும் என்னுடைய பங்குமாக இருக்கிறார்.

Mi fleische and myn herte failide; God of myn herte, and my part is God withouten ende.

27 ௨௭ இதோ, உம்மைவிட்டுத் தூரமாகப்போகிறவர்கள் நாசமடைவார்கள்; உம்மைவிட்டு உண்மையில்லாமல் போகிற அனைவரையும் அழிப்பீர்.

For lo! thei that drawen awei fer hem silf fro thee, `bi deedli synne, schulen perische; thou hast lost alle men that doen fornycacioun fro thee.

28 ௨௮ எனக்கோ, தேவனை அண்டிக்கொண்டிருப்பதே நலம்; நான் உமது செயல்களையெல்லாம் சொல்லிவரும்படி கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர்மேல் என்னுடைய நம்பிக்கையை வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

But it is good to me to cleue to God; and to sette myn hope in the Lord God. That Y telle alle thi prechyngis; in the yatis of the douyter of Syon.
