ஆதியாகமம் 14
1 ௧ சிநெயாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அம்ராப்பேலும், ஏலாசாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அரியோகும், ஏலாமின் ராஜாவாகிய கெதர்லா கோமேரும், கோயிமின் ராஜாவாகிய திதியாலும் இருந்த நாட்களில்;
In the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim,
2 ௨ அவர்கள் சோதோமின் ராஜாவாகிய பேராவோடும், கொமோராவின் ராஜாவாகிய பிர்சாவோடும், அத்மாவின் ராஜாவாகிய சிநெயாவோடும், செபோயீமின் ராஜாவாகிய செமேபரோடும், சோவார் என்னும் பேலாவின் ராஜாவோடும் யுத்தம் செய்தார்கள்.
they made war with Bera, king of Sodom [Burning], and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants], Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (also called Zoar [Small]).
All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (also called the Salt Sea).
They served Chedorlaomer for twelve years, and in the thirteenth year, they rebelled.
5 ௫ 14 ஆம் வருடத்திலே கெதர்லாகோமேரும், அவனோடு கூடியிருந்த ராஜாக்களும் வந்து, அஸ்தரோத்கர்னாயீமிலே இருந்த ரெப்பாயீமியரையும், காமிலே இருந்த சூசிமியரையும், சாவேகீரியத்தாயீமிலே இருந்த ஏமியரையும்,
In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings who were with him, and struck the Rephaim [Descendants of Terrible one] in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham [Hot, Intensity, Passion], and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
and the Horites in their Mount Seir, to El Paran, which is by the wilderness.
7 ௭ திரும்பிக் காதேஸ் என்னும் என்மிஸ்பாத்துக்கு வந்து, அமலேக்கியர்களுடைய நாடு முழுவதையும், ஆசாசோன் தாமாரிலே குடியிருந்த எமோரியரையும் கூட அழித்தார்கள்.
They returned, and came to En Mishpat (also called Kadesh), and struck all the country of the Amalekites [Descendants of Man who licks up], and also the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers], that lived in Hazazon Tamar [Palm tree].
8 ௮ அப்பொழுது சோதோமின் ராஜாவும், கொமோராவின் ராஜாவும், அத்மாவின் ராஜாவும், செபோயீமின் ராஜாவும், சோவார் என்னும் பேலாவின் ராஜாவும் புறப்பட்டு சித்தீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே,
The king of Sodom [Burning], and the king of Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants], and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (also called Zoar [Small]) went out; and they set the battle in array against them in the valley of Siddim;
9 ௯ ஏலாமின் ராஜாவாகிய கெதர்லாகோமேரோடும், கோயிமின் ராஜாவாகிய திதியாலோடும், சிநெயாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அம்ராப்பேலோடும், ஏலாசாரின் ராஜாவாகிய அரியோகோடும் யுத்தம்செய்யப் புறப்பட்டு, அந்த ஐந்து ராஜாக்களோடும் இந்த நான்கு ராஜாக்களும் யுத்தம் செய்தார்கள்.
against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five.
10 ௧0 அந்த சித்தீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் நிலக்கீல் உண்டாகும் கிணறுகள் இருந்தன. சோதோம் கொமோராவின் ராஜாக்கள் தோற்று ஓடி அங்கே விழுந்தார்கள்; மீதமுள்ளவர்கள் மலைகளுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
Now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom [Burning] and Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants] fled, and some fell there, and those who remained fled to the hills.
11 ௧௧ அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் சோதோமிலும் கொமோராவிலுமுள்ள பொருட்கள் மற்றும் உணவுப்பொருட்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டார்கள்.
They took all the goods of Sodom [Burning] and Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants], and all their food, and went their way.
12 ௧௨ ஆபிராமின் சகோதரனுடைய மகனாகிய லோத்து சோதோமிலே குடியிருந்ததால், அவனையும், அவனுடைய பொருட்களையும் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார்கள்.
They took Lot [Veil, Covering], Avram [Exalted father]’s brother’s son, who lived in Sodom [Burning], and his goods, and departed.
13 ௧௩ தப்பியோடின ஒருவன் எபிரெயனாகிய ஆபிராமிடத்தில் வந்து அதைத் தெரிவித்தான்; ஆபிராம் தன்னுடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்திருந்த மனிதர்களாகிய எஸ்கோலுக்கும், ஆநேருக்கும் சகோதரனாகிய மம்ரே என்னும் எமோரியனுடைய சமபூமியிலே அப்பொழுது குடியிருந்தான்.
One who had escaped came and told Avram [Exalted father], the Hebrew [Immigrant]. At that time, he lived by the oaks of Mamre [Bitter, Fatness], the Amorite [Descendants of Talkers], brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner; and they were allies of Avram [Exalted father].
14 ௧௪ தன் சகோதரன் சிறையாகக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டதை ஆபிராம் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவன் தன் வீட்டிலே பிறந்த யுத்தப்பயிற்சி பெற்றவர்களாகிய 318 ஆட்களுக்கும் ஆயுதம் அணிவித்து, தாண் என்னும் ஊர்வரை அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய்,
When Avram [Exalted father] sh'ma ·heard obeyed· that his relative was taken captive, he led out his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan [He judged].
15 ௧௫ இரவுநேரத்திலே அவனும், அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரரும் பிரிந்து, குழுக்களாக அவர்கள்மேல் விழுந்து, அவர்களைத் தோற்கடித்து, தமஸ்குவுக்கு இடதுபுறமான ஓபாவரைத் துரத்தி,
He divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and struck them, and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus [Bucket of blood].
16 ௧௬ அனைத்து பொருட்களையும் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்; தன் சகோதரனாகிய லோத்தையும், அவனுடைய பொருட்களையும், பெண்களையும், மக்களையும் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.
He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative, Lot [Veil, Covering], and his goods, and the women also, and the other people.
17 ௧௭ அவன் கெதர்லாகோமேரையும், அவனோடிருந்த ராஜாக்களையும் தோற்கடித்துத் திரும்பிவருகிறபோது, சோதோமின் ராஜா புறப்பட்டு, ராஜாவின் பள்ளத்தாக்கு என்னும் சாவே பள்ளத்தாக்குவரை அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோனான்.
The king of Sodom [Burning] went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
18 ௧௮ அன்றியும், உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய ஆசாரியனாயிருந்த சாலேமின் ராஜாவாகிய மெல்கிசேதேக்கு அப்பமும் திராட்சைரசமும் கொண்டுவந்து,
Malki-Tzedek king of Shalem [My king Righteousness king of City peace] brought out bread and wine. He was a priest of El 'Elyon [God Most High],
19 ௧௯ அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்து: “வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உடையவராகிய உன்னதமான தேவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் ஆபிராமுக்கு உண்டாவதாக.
so he blessed him saying, “Blessed be Avram [Exalted father] of El 'Elyon [God Most High], possessor of heaven and earth:
20 ௨0 உன் எதிரிகளை உன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்த உன்னதமான தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்” என்று சொன்னான். இவனுக்கு ஆபிராம் எல்லாவற்றிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்தான்.
and blessed be El 'Elyon [God Most High], who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Avram [Exalted father] gave him a tenth of all.
21 ௨௧ சோதோமின் ராஜா ஆபிராமை நோக்கி: “மக்களை எனக்குத் தாரும், பொருட்களை நீர் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்” என்றான்.
The king of Sodom [Burning] said to Avram [Exalted father], “Give me the people, and take the goods for yourself.”
22 ௨௨ அதற்கு ஆபிராம் சோதோமின் ராஜாவைப் பார்த்து; “ஆபிராமை செல்வந்தனாக்கினேன் என்று நீர் சொல்லாமலிருக்க நான் ஒரு நூலையாகிலும் காலணியின் வாரையாகிலும், உமக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் ஒன்றையாகிலும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளமாட்டேன் என்று,
Avram [Exalted father] said to the king of Sodom [Burning], “I have lifted up my hand to Adonai, El 'Elyon [God Most High], possessor of heaven and earth,
23 ௨௩ வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உடையவராகிய உன்னதமான தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு நேராக என் கையை உயர்த்துகிறேன்.
that I will not take a thread nor a sandal strap nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Avram [Exalted father] rich.’
24 ௨௪ வாலிபர்கள் சாப்பிட்டதுபோக, என்னுடன் வந்த ஆநேர், எஸ்கோல், மம்ரே என்னும் மனிதர்களுடைய பங்குமாத்திரமே வரவேண்டும்; இவர்கள் தங்களுடைய பங்குகளை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும்” என்றான்.
I will accept nothing from you except that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre [Bitter, Fatness]. Let them take their portion.”
