தானியேல் 6
It seemed good to Darius, and he appointed over the kingdom a hundred and twenty governors to be over his whole kingdom.
2 ௨ ராஜாவிற்கு நஷ்டம் வராதபடிக்கு அந்த தேசாதிபதிகள் கணக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கிறதற்காக அவர்களுக்கு மேலாக மூன்று அதிகாரிகளையும் ஏற்படுத்துவது தரியுவிற்கு நலமென்று காணப்பட்டது; இவர்களில் தானியேலும் ஒருவனாயிருந்தான்.
And three princes over them, of whom Daniel was one: that the governors might give an account to them, and the king might have no trouble.
3 ௩ இப்படியிருக்கும்போது தானியேல் அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் தேசாதிபதிகளுக்கும் மேலானவனாயிருந்தான்; தானியேலுக்குள் விசேஷித்த ஆவி இருந்ததால் அவனை ராஜ்ஜியம் முழுவதற்கும் அதிகாரியாக ஏற்படுத்த ராஜா நினைத்தான்.
And Daniel excelled all the princes, and governors: because a greater spirit of God was in him.
4 ௪ அப்பொழுது அதிகாரிகளும் தேசாதிபதிகளும் ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் விசாரிப்பிலே தானியேலைக் குற்றப்படுத்தும்படி காரணத்தைத் தேடினார்கள்; ஆனாலும் ஒரு காரணத்தையும் குற்றத்தையும் கண்டுபிடிக்க அவர்களால் முடியாமலிருந்தது; அவன் உண்மையுள்ளவனாக இருந்ததால் அவன்மேல் சுமத்த எந்தவொரு குற்றமும் குறைவும் காணப்படவில்லை.
And the king thought to set him over all the kingdom: whereupon the princes, and the governors sought to find occasion against Daniel with regard to the king: and they could find no cause, nor suspicion, because he was faithful, and no fault, nor suspicion was found in him.
5 ௫ அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதர்கள்: நாம் இந்த தானியேலை அவனுடைய தேவனைப்பற்றிய வேதவிஷயத்திலே குற்றப்படுத்தும் காரணத்தைக் கண்டுபிடித்தாலொழிய அவனை வேறொன்றிலும் குற்றப்படுத்தும் காரணத்தைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கமுடியாது என்றார்கள்.
Then these men said: We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, unless perhaps concerning the law of his God.
6 ௬ பின்பு அந்தப் அதிகாரிகளும் தேசாதிபதிகளும் ஒன்றுகூடி ராஜாவினிடத்தில் போய், அவனை நோக்கி: தரியு ராஜாவே, நீர் என்றும் வாழ்க.
Then the princes, and the governors craftily suggested to the king, and spoke thus unto him: King Darius, live for ever:
7 ௭ எவனாகிலும் முப்பது நாட்கள்வரையில் ராஜாவாகிய உம்மைத்தவிர எந்த தேவனையானாலும் மனிதனையானாலும் நோக்கி, எந்தவொரு காரியத்தைக்குறித்து விண்ணப்பம்செய்தால், அவன் சிங்கங்களின் குகையிலே போடப்பட, ராஜா கட்டளை பிறப்பித்து, உறுதியான உத்திரவிடவேண்டுமென்று ராஜ்ஜியத்தினுடைய எல்லா அதிகாரிகளும், தேசாதிபதிகளும், பிரபுக்களும், மந்திரிமார்களும், தலைவர்களும் ஆலோசனை செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
All the princes of the kingdom, the magistrates, and governors, the senators, and judges have consulted together, that an imperial decree, and an edict be published: That whosoever shall ask any petition of any god, or man, for thirty days, but of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.
8 ௮ ஆதலால் இப்போதும் ராஜாவே, மேதியர்களுக்கும் பெர்சியர்களுக்கும் இருக்கிற மாறாத பிரமாணத்தின்படியே அந்த உத்திரவு மாற்றப்படாதபடி நீர் அதைக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அதற்குக் கையெழுத்து இடவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.
Now, therefore, O king, confirm the sentence, and sign the decree: that what is decreed by the Medes and Persians may not be altered, nor any man be allowed to transgress it.
So king Darius set forth the decree, and established it.
10 ௧0 தானியேலோவென்றால், அந்தப் பத்திரத்தில் கையெழுத்து போடப்பட்டதென்று அறிந்திருந்தாலும், தன் வீட்டிற்குள்ளேபோய், தன் மேலறையிலே எருசலேமிற்கு நேராக ஜன்னல்கள் திறந்திருக்க, அங்கே தான் முன்பு செய்துவந்தபடியே, தினம் மூன்று வேளையும் தன் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக முழங்காற்படியிட்டு ஜெபம்செய்து, ஸ்தோத்திரம் செலுத்தினான்.
Now when Daniel knew this, that is to say, that the law was made, he went into his house: and opening the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day, and adored, and gave thanks before his God, as he had been accustomed to do before.
11 ௧௧ அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதர்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி, தானியேல் தன் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக ஜெபித்து விண்ணப்பம் செய்கிறதைக் கண்டார்கள்.
Wherefore those men carefully watching him, found Daniel praying and making supplication to his God.
12 ௧௨ பின்பு அவர்கள் ராஜாவிற்கு முன்பாக வந்து, ராஜாவின் உத்திரவைக்குறித்து: எந்த மனிதனாகிலும் முப்பது நாட்கள்வரையில் ராஜாவாகிய உம்மைத்தவிர எந்த தேவனையோ மனிதனையோ நோக்கி எந்தவொரு காரியத்தைக்குறித்து விண்ணப்பம்செய்தால், அவன் சிங்கங்களின் குகையிலே போடப்படவேண்டும் என்று நீர் கட்டளைப் பத்திரத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டீர் அல்லவா என்றார்கள். அதற்கு ராஜா: அந்தக் காரியம் மேதியர்களுக்கும் பெர்சியர்களுக்கும் இருக்கிற மாறாத பிரமாணத்தின்படி உறுதியாக்கப்பட்டதே என்றான்.
And they came and spoke to the king concerning the edict: O king, hast thou not decreed, that every man that should make a request to any of the gods, or men, for thirty days, but to thyself, O king, should be cast into the den of the lions? And the king answered them, saying: The word is true according to the decree of the Medes and Persians, which it is not lawful to violate.
13 ௧௩ அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: சிறைபிடிக்கப்பட்ட யூதேயா தேசத்தின் மக்களில் தானியேல் என்பவன் உம்மையும் நீர் கையெழுத்திட்டுக்கொடுத்த கட்டளையையும் மதிக்காமல், தினம் மூன்று வேளையும் தான்செய்யும் விண்ணப்பத்தைச் செய்கிறான் என்றார்கள்.
Then they answered, and said before the king: Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Juda, hath not regarded thy law, nor the decree that thou hast made: but three times a day he maketh his prayer.
14 ௧௪ ராஜா இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, தன்னில் மிகவும் கலக்கமடைந்து, தானியேலைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு அவன்மேல் தன் மனதை வைத்து, அவனைத் தப்புவிப்பதற்காக சூரியன் மறையும்வரை முயற்சிசெய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.
Now when the king had heard these words, he was very much grieved, and in behalf of Daniel he set his heart to deliver him and even till sunset he laboured to save him.
15 ௧௫ அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதர்கள் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் கூட்டமாக வந்து: ராஜா கட்டளையிட்ட எந்த உத்திரவும் கட்டளையும் மாற்றப்படமுடியாது என்பது மேதியர்களுக்கும் பெர்சியர்களுக்கும் பிரமாணமாயிருக்கிறதென்று அறிவீராக என்றார்கள்.
But those men perceiving the king’s design, said to him: Know thou, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree which the king hath made, may be altered.
16 ௧௬ அப்பொழுது ராஜா கட்டளையிட, அவர்கள் தானியேலைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைச் சிங்கங்களின் குகையிலே போட்டார்கள்; ராஜா தானியேலை நோக்கி: நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னைத் தப்புவிப்பார் என்றான்.
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of the lions. And the king said to Daniel: Thy God, whom thou always servest, he will deliver thee.
17 ௧௭ ஒரு கல் குகையினுடைய வாசலின்மேல் கொண்டுவந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது; தானியேலைப்பற்றிய தீர்மானம் மாற்றப்படாதபடிக்கு ராஜா தன் மோதிரத்தினாலும் தன் பிரபுக்களின் மோதிரத்தினாலும் அதின்மேல் முத்திரைபோட்டான்.
And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den: which the king sealed with his own ring, and with the ring of his nobles, that nothing should be done against Daniel.
18 ௧௮ பின்பு ராஜா தன் அரண்மனைக்குப் போய், இரவுமுழுவதும் சாப்பிடாமலும், இசைக்கருவி முதலானவைகளைத் தனக்கு முன்பாக வரவிடாமலும் இருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு தூக்கமும் வராமற்போனது.
And the king went away to his house and laid himself down without taking supper, and meat was not set before him, and even sleep departed from him.
Then the king rising very early in the morning, went in haste to the lions’ den:
20 ௨0 ராஜா குகையின் அருகில் வந்தபோது, துயரசத்தமாகத் தானியேலைக் கூப்பிட்டு: தானியேலே, ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய தாசனே, நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னைச் சிங்கங்களுக்குத் தப்புவிக்க வல்லவராயிருந்தாரா என்று தானியேலைக் கேட்டான்.
And coming near to the den, cried with a lamentable voice to Daniel, and said to him: Daniel, servant of the living God, hath thy God, whom thou servest always, been able, thinkest thou, to deliver thee from the lions?
And Daniel answering the king, said: O king, live for ever:
22 ௨௨ சிங்கங்கள் என்னைச் சேதப்படுத்தாதபடிக்குத் தேவன் தம்முடைய தூதனை அனுப்பி, அவைகளின் வாயைக் கட்டிப்போட்டார்; அதேனென்றால் அவருக்கு முன்பாக நான் குற்றமற்றவனாகக் காணப்பட்டேன்; ராஜாவாகிய உமக்கு முன்பாகவும் நான் அநீதி செய்ததில்லை என்றான்.
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut up the mouths of the lions, and they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him justice hath been found in me: yea and before thee, O king, I have done no offence.
23 ௨௩ அப்பொழுது ராஜா தன்னில் மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, தானியேலைக் குகையிலிருந்து தூக்கிவிடச் சொன்னான்; அப்படியே தானியேல் குகையிலிருந்து தூக்கிவிடப்பட்டான்; அவன் தன் தேவனை நம்பியிருந்ததினால், அவனுக்கு ஒரு சேதமும் ஏற்படவில்லை.
Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and he commanded that Daniel should be taken out of the den: and Daniel was taken out of the den, and no hurt was found in him, because he believed in his God.
24 ௨௪ தானியேலின்மேல் குற்றம்சுமத்தின மனிதர்களையோவென்றால், ராஜா கொண்டுவரச்சொன்னான்; அவர்களையும் அவர்களுடைய மகன்களையும் அவர்கள் மனைவிகளையும் சிங்கங்களின் குகையிலே போட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் குகையின் அடியிலே சேருவதற்குமுன்பே சிங்கங்கள் அவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்து, அவர்களுடைய எலும்புகளையெல்லாம் நொறுக்கிப்போட்டது.
And by the king’s commandment, those men were brought that bad accused Daniel: and they were cast into the lions’ den, they and their children, and their wives: and they did not reach the bottom of the den, before the lions caught them, and broke all their bones in pieces.
25 ௨௫ பின்பு ராஜாவாகிய தரியு தேசமெங்கும் குடியிருக்கிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் தேசத்தார்களுக்கும் பல மொழி பேசுபவர்களுக்கும் எழுதினது என்னவென்றால்: உங்களுக்குச் சமாதானம் பெருகுவதாக.
Then king Darius wrote to all people, tribes, and languages, dwelling in the whole earth: PEACE be multiplied unto you.
26 ௨௬ என் ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் ஆளுகைக்குள் எங்குமுள்ளவர்கள் யாவரும் தானியேலின் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நடுங்கிப் பயப்படவேண்டுமென்று என்னாலே தீர்மானம்செய்யப்படுகிறது; அவர் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவன், அவர் என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறவர்; அவருடைய ராஜ்ஜியம் அழியாதது; அவருடைய கர்த்தத்துவம் முடிவுவரைக்கும் நிற்கும்.
It is decreed by me, that in all my empire and my kingdom all men dread and fear the God of Daniel. For he is the living and eternal God for ever: and his kingdom shall not be destroyed, and his power shall be for ever.
27 ௨௭ தானியேலைச் சிங்கங்களின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்த அவரே தப்புவிக்கிறவரும் இரட்சிக்கிறவரும், வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும் அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் செய்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார் என்று எழுதினான்.
He is the deliverer, and saviour, doing signs and wonders in heaven, and in earth: who hath delivered Daniel out of the lions’ den.
28 ௨௮ தரியுவின் ஆட்சிக்காலத்திலும், பெர்சியனாகிய கோரேசுடைய ஆட்சிக்காலத்திலும் தானியேலின் காரியம் ஜெயமாக இருந்தது.
Now Daniel continued unto the reign of Darius, and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
