நீதிமொழிகள் 21

1 அரசனுடைய இருதயம் யெகோவாவின் கரத்தில் நீரோடைகளைப் போலிருக்கின்றது; அவர் அதைத் தாம் விரும்பியவர்களிடம் நடத்துகிறார்.

The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of Yahweh; he turns it wherever he pleases.

2 மனிதனுடைய வழியெல்லாம் அவனுக்குச் சரியானதாகவே தோன்றும், ஆனால் யெகோவா இருதயத்தின் சிந்தனைகளை சோதித்து அறிகிறார்.

Every person's way is right in his own eyes, but it is Yahweh who weighs the hearts.

3 பலி செலுத்துவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் செய்வதே யெகோவாவுக்கு விருப்பம்.

To do what is right and just is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.

4 கொடியவர்களின் உழாத நிலம் என்பது, அவர்களின் பாவத்தை உண்டாக்கும் அகந்தையான பார்வையும் பெருமையான இருதயமுமே.

Haughty eyes and a proud heart— the lamp of the wicked—are sin.

5 அவசரச்செயல் வறுமையைக் கொடுப்பது நிச்சயம், அதுபோலவே கடின உழைப்புள்ளவர்களின் திட்டங்கள் இலாபத்தைக் கொடுப்பதும் நிச்சயம்.

The plans of the diligent lead only to prosperity, but everyone who acts too quickly comes only to poverty.

6 பொய் சொல்லி சம்பாதிக்கும் செல்வம், பறந்து செல்லும் நீராவியாயும் மரணக் கண்ணியாயும் இருக்கும்.

Acquiring riches by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare that kills.

7 கொடியவர்கள் நியாயஞ்செய்ய மறுப்பதால், அவர்களின் வன்முறை அவர்களையே வாரிச்செல்லும்.

The violence of the wicked will drag them away, for they refuse to do what is just.

8 குற்றவாளிகளின் வழி கோணலானது, ஆனால் குற்றமற்றவர்களின் நடத்தையோ நேர்மையானது.

The way of a guilty person is crooked, but the one who is pure does what is right.

9 சண்டைக்கார மனைவியுடன் வீட்டில் ஒன்றாய் வாழ்வதைவிட, கூரையின் மூலையில் தனித்து வாழ்வது சிறந்தது.

It is better to live on a corner of the roof than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.

10 கொடியவர்கள் தீமையை விரும்புகிறார்கள்; தமக்கு அடுத்திருப்போரை இரக்கத்தோடு பார்க்கமாட்டார்கள்.

The appetite of the wicked craves evil; his neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.

11 ஏளனம் செய்பவர்கள் தண்டிக்கப்படும்போது, அறிவற்றவர்கள் ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள்; ஞானமுள்ளவர்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் அறிவைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

When the mocker is punished, the naive become wise, and when the wise person is instructed, he lays hold of knowledge.

12 நீதிபரரான இறைவன் கொடியவர்களின் வீட்டைக் கவனித்துப் பார்த்து, கொடியவர்களை தண்டிக்கிறார்.

The righteous person watches the house of the wicked person; he brings wicked people to disaster.

13 ஏழைகளின் அழுகைக்குச் செவிகொடுக்காதவர்களுக்கு தாங்கள் அழும்பொழுது பதில் கிடைக்காது.

The one who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he also will cry out, but he will not be answered.

14 இரகசியமாய் கொடுக்கும் அன்பளிப்பு கோபத்தைத் தணிக்கும்; அங்கியில் மறைத்துக் கொடுக்கும் இலஞ்சம் கடுஞ்சீற்றத்தைக் குறைக்கும்.

A gift in secret appeases anger and a concealed gift appeases strong wrath.

15 நீதி செய்யப்படும்போது, அது நீதிமான்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுக்கிறது, ஆனால் தீயவர்களுக்கு பயமுண்டாக்கும்.

When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous person, but it brings terror to evildoers.

16 விவேகத்தின் பாதையைவிட்டு விலகிச்செல்பவர்கள், முடிவில் இறந்தவர்களின் கூட்டத்தில் சேருவார்கள்.

The one who wanders from the way of understanding, he will rest in the assembly of the dead.

17 சிற்றின்பத்தை தேடுகிறவர்கள் ஏழையாவார்கள்; திராட்சைரசத்தையும் ஆடம்பரத்தையும் விரும்புகிறவர்கள் ஒருபோதும் செல்வந்தராவதில்லை.

Whoever loves pleasure will become poor; the one who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

18 கொடியவர்கள் நீதிமான்களையும், துரோகிகள் நேர்மையுள்ளவர்களையும் மீட்கும் பணயப் பொருளாவார்கள்.

A wicked person is ransom for the righteous person, and the treacherous person is ransom for upright people.

19 சண்டைக்காரியும் கோபக்காரியுமான மனைவியுடன் வாழ்வதைவிட, பாலைவனத்தில் வாழ்வது சிறந்தது.

It is better to live in the desert than with a quarreling and angry wife.

20 சிறந்த உணவும் எண்ணெயும் ஞானமுள்ளோர் வீட்டில் இருக்கும்; மூடர்களோ எல்லாவற்றையும் தின்று குடித்து அழித்துவிடுவார்கள்.

Desirable treasure and oil are kept in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish person swallows it all up.

21 நீதியாகவும் அன்பாகவும் இருக்க விரும்புகிறவர்கள், வாழ்வையும் செழிப்பையும், மதிப்பையும் பெறுவார்கள்.

The one who does right and is kind— this person finds life, righteousness, and honor.

22 ஞானமுள்ளவர்கள் பலவான்களின் பட்டணத்தைத் தாக்கி, அவர்கள் நம்பியிருக்கும் கோட்டையையும் இடித்துப் போடுவார்கள்.

A wise man scales the city of the mighty ones, and he brings down the stronghold in which they trusted.

23 தங்கள் வாயையும் நாவையும் காத்துக்கொள்கிறவர்கள் பேரழிவிலிருந்து தங்களைக் காத்துக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

24 அகந்தையும் இறுமாப்பும் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு, “ஏளனக்காரர்கள்” என்று பெயர், அவர்கள் எல்லையற்ற ஆணவத்துடன் நடந்துகொள்கிறார்கள்.

The proud and haughty person—”Mocker” is his name— acts with arrogant pride.

25 சோம்பேறியின் கைகள் வேலைசெய்ய மறுப்பதால், அவர்களின் ஆசையினால் அவர்கள் அழிவார்கள்.

The desire of the lazy kills him, for his hands refuse to work.

26 அவர்களுடைய பேராசை நாளுக்குநாள் அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டேயிருக்கிறது; ஆனால் நீதிமான்களோ, தாராளமாய்க் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள்.

All day long he craves and craves more, but the righteous person gives and does not hold back.

27 கொடியவர்கள் செலுத்தும் பலி அருவருப்பானது; அது தீயநோக்கத்துடன் செலுத்தப்படுமானால், அது இன்னும் எவ்வளவு அதிக அருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்!

The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable; it is even more detestable when he brings it with evil motives.

28 பொய்ச்சாட்சி கூறுபவர்கள் அழிந்துபோவார்கள்; ஆனால் கவனமாய்க் கேட்பவர்கள் வெற்றிகரமாக சாட்சியளிப்பார்.

A false witness will perish, but the one who listens will speak for all time.

29 கொடியவர்கள் தங்களைத் துணிச்சல்காரர்களாய் காண்பிக்கிறார்கள்; ஆனால் நேர்மையுள்ளவர்கள் தங்கள் வழிகளைச் சிந்தித்துப் பார்க்கிறார்கள்.

A wicked man makes his face hard, but an upright person is certain about his ways.

30 யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராக வெற்றியளிக்கக்கூடிய ஞானமோ, நுண்ணறிவோ, திட்டமோ எதுவும் இல்லை.

There is no wisdom, there is no understanding, and there is no advice that can stand against Yahweh.

31 போரின் நாளுக்காக குதிரை ஆயத்தமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, ஆனால் வெற்றியோ யெகோவாவினுடையது.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to Yahweh.
