ஓசியா 7

1 நான் இஸ்ரயேலைக் குணமாக்கும்போது, எப்பிராயீமின் பாவங்களும், சமாரியாவின் குற்றங்களும் வெளிப்படும். அவர்கள் வஞ்சனையைக் கைக்கொள்கிறார்கள்; திருடர்கள் வீடுகளை உடைத்து உள்ளே போகிறார்கள், கொள்ளையர்கள் வீதிகளில் சூறையாடுகிறார்கள்.

“and when I wanted to heal them [again], [I did not do it, ] [because] I saw the wicked things that [the people of] Samaria [city] and [other places in] Israel [DOU] have done. They constantly deceive others; bandits rob people in the streets.

2 அவர்களின் தீமைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் நினைவில் வைத்திருக்கிறேன் என்பதை அவர்கள் உணராதிருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களின் பாவங்கள் அவர்களை மூடிப்போடுகின்றன; அவை எப்பொழுதும் என்முன் இருக்கின்றன.

But they do not realize that I do not forget all the evil things that they do. [It is as though] they are surrounded by [all] the sins that they commit; and [it is though] those sins are [always right] in front of me [MTY].

3 “தங்கள் கொடுமையினால் அரசனையும், பொய்யினால் இளவரசர்களையும் மகிழ்விக்கின்றார்கள்.

Their king is delighted with the wicked things that the people do; his officials are happy about the people’s lies.

4 அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் விபசாரக்காரர். அவர்கள் அப்பம் சுடும் அடுப்பைப்போல் எரிந்துகொண்டே இருக்கிறார்கள். மாவைப் பிசையும் நேரத்திலிருந்து, அது புளித்துப் பொங்கும் நேரம்வரைக்கும், அதன் நெருப்பை ஊதவேண்டிய அவசியம் இல்லை.

[The king and his officials] are all treacherous. [They are always eager to do wicked things; ] they are like [SIM] an oven that is [very] hot: a baker mixes the dough and waits for it to expand, and he does not [need to] cause the oven to become hotter.

5 எங்கள் அரசனின் கொண்டாட்ட நாளில், இளவரசர்கள் திராட்சை மதுவினால் வெறிகொண்டார்கள்; அரசன் ஏளனக்காரர்களுடன் கைகோத்திருக்கிறான்.

The king and his officials get very drunk during their festivals, carousing with others who also do foolish things.

6 அவர்களின் இருதயங்கள் சதித்திட்டங்களினால் அடுப்பைப்போல் எரிகின்றன; இரவு முழுவதும் அவர்களின் கோபம், நெருப்புத் தணலைப்போல் எரிகிறது; காலையில் அது கொழுந்து விட்டெரியும் நெருப்பைப்போல் இருக்கிறது.

The officials angrily plan to murder the king; it is like [SIM] they have an oven in their inner beings. All during the night their [eagerness/wanting to murder the king] is like a fire that is smouldering, but in the morning it becomes like [MET] a roaring fire.

7 அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் சூடேறிய அடுப்பைப்போலாகி, அவர்கள் தங்கள் ஆளுநர்களை அழிக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களுடைய அரசர்கள் அனைவரும் விழுகிறார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்களில் ஒருவனும் என்னைக் கூப்பிடுகிறதில்லை.

All those officials are like [MET] hot flames that completely burn up their rulers, so all their kings are murdered, and no one pleads with me [to help them].”

8 “எப்பிராயீம் பிற நாடுகளுடன் கலந்துகொள்கிறான்; எப்பிராயீம் புரட்டிப் போடாததினால் ஒரு பக்கம் வேகாத அப்பம் போலிருக்கிறான்.

“[The leaders of] Israel join with leaders of [godless] nations; so [the leaders of] Israel are [as worthless as] a pancake that is cooked on only one side.

9 அந்நியர் அவன் பெலத்தை உறிஞ்சுகிறார்கள்; ஆனால் அவன் அதை உணர்கிறதில்லை. அவன் தலையில் நரைமயிர் தோன்றிவிட்டது, ஆயினும் அதையும் அவன் கவனிக்கவில்லை.

Joining with the rulers of foreign nations has caused Israel to be a weak [nation], but the Israelis do not realize that. Israel has become [like] [MET] a gray-haired old man, but the people of Israel do not realize it.

10 இஸ்ரயேலின் அகந்தை அவனுக்கெதிராய்ச் சாட்சி கூறுகிறது. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்துங்கூட, அவர்கள் தனது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடம் திரும்பவுமில்லை, அவரைத் தேடவுமில்லை.

Their being proud [PRS] testifies against them, but in spite of that, they do not return to [me], Yahweh, their God, or [even] try to know me.

11 “எப்பிராயீம் பேதையான புறாவைப் போன்றவன், அவன் புத்தியில்லாதவனாயும் இருக்கிறான். முதலில் அவன் எகிப்தை உதவிக்குக் கூப்பிடுகிறான்; பின் அசீரியாவினிடத்திற்கும் திரும்புகிறான்.

[The people of] Israel have become foolish and stupid like [SIM] doves. [First] they called out to Egypt [to help them], [and then] they sought help from Assyria.

12 எப்பிராயீமியர் உதவிகேட்டுப் போகும்போது, நான் எனது வலையை அவர்கள்மேல் வீசுவேன்; ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகள்போல், அவர்களை நான் இழுத்து வீழ்த்துவேன்; அவர்கள் ஒன்றாய்கூடும் சத்தத்தை நான் கேட்கும்போது, நான் அவர்களை எச்சரித்ததுபோல் தண்டிப்பேன்.

But wherever they go [to get help], [I will not allow them to succeed]; [it will be as though] [MET] I will throw a net over them like [SIM] [a hunter uses a net to capture] birds; I will punish them for the evil things that they do.

13 அவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ கேடு வருகிறது, ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் என்னைவிட்டுப் போய்விட்டார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு அழிவு வருகிறது. ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் எனக்கெதிராக கலகம் பண்ணியிருக்கிறார்கள். நான் அவர்களை மீட்பதற்கு விரும்புகிறேன், ஆனால், அவர்களோ எனக்கெதிராய் பொய் பேசுகிறார்கள்.

Terrible things will happen to them because they abandoned/deserted me! They will be destroyed because they rebelled against me. I wanted to rescue them, but they tell lies about me.

14 அவர்கள் தங்கள் படுக்கையிலிருந்து புலம்புகிறார்களே தவிர, தங்கள் இருதயத்திலிருந்து என்னை நோக்கி அழுவதில்லை. தானியத்திற்காகவும், புதுத் திராட்சை இரசத்திற்காகவும் மட்டுமே அவர்கள் பாகால் தெய்வத்திற்குமுன் ஒன்றுகூடுகிறார்கள். எனவே அவர்கள் என்னைவிட்டு வழிவிலகிப் போகிறார்கள்.

They do not cry out to me sincerely [IDM]; they [only] lie on their beds and wail. They gather together and ask [me to give them] grain and wine, but they turn away from me.

15 நான் அவர்களைப் பயிற்றுவித்து பெலப்படுத்தினேன்; ஆயினும், அவர்கள் எனக்கெதிராகத் தீமையான சூழ்ச்சி செய்கிறார்கள்.

I trained/taught them and enabled them to become strong, but now they plan [to do] evil things to me.

16 நானே அவர்களுடைய மகா உன்னதமான இறைவன்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் என் பக்கம் திரும்புகிறதில்லை. அவர்கள் வலுவிழந்த வில்லைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய தலைவர்கள் தங்களது இறுமாப்பான பேச்சுகளின் நிமித்தம், வாளினால் விழுவார்கள். இதுவே எகிப்து நாட்டினால் அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் நிந்தை.

They have rejected me, their Great God, and turned to their god Baal; they are [as useless] as [SIM] a crooked bow. Their leaders boast [that they are very strong], but they will be killed by [their enemies’] swords. As a result, [the people of] Egypt will laugh at them.”
