எஸ்தர் 9

1 ஆதார் மாதமாகிய பன்னிரண்டாம் மாதம் பதிமூன்றாம் நாளில், அரசனால் கட்டளையிடப்பட்ட உத்தரவு செயல்படுத்தப்பட திட்டமிடப்பட்டிருந்தது. அந்த நாளிலே யூதர்களின் பகைவர்கள் யூதர்களை மேற்கொள்ளும்படி எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தார்கள். ஆனால் நிலைமை முற்றிலும் மாறி தங்களைப் பகைத்தவர்களுக்கு மேலாக யூதர்களின் கை ஓங்கியது.

And in the twelfth month — it [is] the month of Adar — on the thirteenth day of it, in which the word of the king, even his law, hath come to be done, in the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to rule over them, and it is turned that the Jews rule over those hating them —

2 யூதர்கள் தங்களை அழிக்கும்படி தேடியவர்களைத் தாக்குவதற்காக, அகாஸ்வேரு அரசனின் எல்லா நாடுகளிலும் உள்ள தங்கள் பட்டணங்களில் ஒன்றுகூடினார்கள். அவர்களை எதிர்த்து ஒருவனாலும் நிற்க முடியவில்லை. ஏனெனில், மற்ற எல்லா நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த மக்களும் அவர்களைக் குறித்துப் பயமடைந்திருந்தார்கள்.

the Jews have been assembled in their cities, in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to put forth a hand on those seeking their evil, and no man hath stood in their presence, for their fear hath fallen on all the peoples.

3 நாடுகளின் எல்லா உயர்குடி மனிதரும், அரச பிரதிநிதிகளும், ஆளுநர்களும், அரசனின் நிர்வாகிகளும் யூதர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்தார்கள். ஏனெனில், மொர்தெகாயைப் பற்றிய பயம் அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டது.

And all heads of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the governors, and those doing the work that the king hath, are lifting up the Jews, for a fear of Mordecai hath fallen upon them;

4 மொர்தெகாய் அரண்மனையில் முதன்மை பெற்றிருந்தான். அவனுடைய புகழ் எல்லா நாடுகளிலும் பிரபலமானது. அவன் அதிகம் அதிகமாய் வலிமையடைந்தான்.

for great [is] Mordecai in the house of the king, and his fame is going into all the provinces, for the man Mordecai is going on and becoming great.

5 யூதர்கள் தங்கள் எல்லாப் பகைவர்களையும் வாளினால் வெட்டி வீழ்த்தி, அவர்களைக் கொன்றொழித்து, தங்களை வெறுத்தவர்களுக்கு தாங்கள் விரும்பியபடி செய்தார்கள்.

And the Jews smite among all their enemies — a smiting of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction — and do with those hating them according to their pleasure,

6 சூசான் கோட்டைப் பட்டணத்தில் ஐந்நூறு மனிதர்களை யூதர்கள் கொன்றொழித்தார்கள்.

and in Shushan the palace have the Jews slain and destroyed five hundred men;

7 அத்துடன் அவர்கள் பர்சான்தாத்தா, தல்போன், அஸ்பாதா,

and Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,

8 பொராதா, அதலியா, அரிதாத்தா,

and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,

9 பர்மஷ்டா, அரிசாய், அரிதாய், வாய்ஸாதா ஆகியோரையும் கொன்றார்கள்.

and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,

10 இந்த பத்துப்பேரும் யூதர்களின் பகைவனான அம்மெதாத்தாவின் மகன் ஆமானின் மகன்களாவர். ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் கொள்ளையிடத் தங்கள் கைகளை நீட்டவில்லை.

ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, adversary of the Jews, they have slain, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.

11 சூசான் கோட்டைப் பட்டணத்தில் கொல்லப்பட்டவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அந்த நாளிலே அரசனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

On that day hath come the number of the slain in Shushan the palace before the king,

12 அரசன் எஸ்தர் அரசியிடம், “யூதர் சூசான் கோட்டைப் பட்டணத்தில் ஐந்நூறு மனிதரைக் கொன்று ஒழித்துவிட்டார்கள். ஆமானின் பத்து மகன்களையும் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள். அரசனின் மீதியான மாகாணங்களிலும் அவர்கள் என்ன செய்திருக்கிறார்களோ, இப்பொழுதும் உனது விண்ணப்பம் என்ன? அது உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும். உனது வேண்டுகோள் என்ன? அது உனக்கு வழங்கப்படும்” என்றான்.

and the king saith to Esther the queen, 'In Shushan the palace have the Jews slain and destroyed five hundred men, and the ten sons of Haman; in the rest of the provinces of the king what have they done? and what [is] thy petition? and it is given to thee; and what thy request again? and it is done.'

13 அதற்கு எஸ்தர், “அரசருக்குப் பிரியமானால், இந்தக் கட்டளையை நாளைக்கும் செயல்படுத்த சூசானிலிருக்கிற யூதர்களுக்கு அனுமதிகொடும். ஆமானின் பத்து மகன்களின் உடல்களும் தூக்கு மரத்தில் தொங்கவிடப்படட்டும்” என்றாள்.

And Esther saith, 'If to the king [it be] good, let it be given also to-morrow, to the Jews who [are] in Shushan, to do according to the law of to-day; and the ten sons of Haman they hang on the tree.'

14 எனவே அரசன் இவ்விதம் செய்யப்படும்படி கட்டளையிட்டான். சூசானில் கட்டளை பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது. அவர்கள் ஆமானின் பத்து மகன்களின் உடல்களையும் தொங்கவிட்டார்கள்.

And the king saith — 'to be done so;' and a law is given in Shushan, and the ten sons of Haman they have hanged.

15 ஆதார் மாதத்தின் பதினான்காம் நாளிலே சூசானிலுள்ள யூதர்கள் எல்லாம் ஒன்றாய் கூடிவந்து, சூசானில் முந்நூறு மனிதர்களைக் கொன்றார்கள். ஆனாலும் கொள்ளையிடும்படி அவர்கள் தங்கள் கைகளை நீட்டவில்லை.

And the Jews who [are] in Shushan are assembled also on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they slay in Shushan three hundred men, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.

16 இதற்கிடையில் அரசனின் மாகாணங்களிலுள்ள மற்ற யூதர்கள் தங்களைப் பாதுகாக்கும்படிக்கும், தங்கள் பகைவர்களிடமிருந்து தங்களை விடுவிக்கும்படிக்கும் ஒன்றுகூடினார்கள். அவர்கள் தங்கள் பகைவர்களில் எழுபத்தையாயிரம் பேரைக் கொன்றார்கள். ஆனால் கொள்ளையிடும்படி தங்கள் கைகளை நீட்டவில்லை.

And the rest of the Jews, who [are] in the provinces of the king, have been assembled, even to stand for their life, and to rest from their enemies, and to slay among those hating them five and seventy thousand, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand;

17 இது ஆதார் மாதத்தில் பதிமூன்றாம் நாளிலே நடந்தது. அடுத்தநாள் அவர்கள் ஓய்ந்திருந்து அந்த நாளை விருந்துகொண்டாடி மகிழும் ஒரு நாளாக்கினார்கள்.

on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, even to rest on the fourteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.

18 ஆயினும் சூசானிலிருந்த யூதர்கள் பதிமூன்றாம் நாளிலும், பதினான்காம் நாளிலும் சபைகூடினார்கள். பின்பு பதினைந்தாம்நாள் ஓய்ந்திருந்து அதை விருந்துகொண்டாடி மகிழும் ஒரு நாளாக்கினார்கள்.

And the Jews who [are] in Shushan have been assembled, on the thirteenth day of it, and on the fourteenth of it, even to rest on the fifteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.

19 அதனால்தான் கிராமங்களில் வாழும் கிராமப்புற யூதர்கள் ஆதார் மாதத்தின் பதினான்காம் நாளை, ஒருவருக்கொருவர் அன்பளிப்புகளை கொடுக்கின்ற, விருந்துண்டு மகிழும் ஒரு நாளாகக் கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள்.

Therefore the Jews of the villages, who are dwelling in cities of the villages, are making the fourteenth day of the month of Adar — joy and banquet, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.

20 மொர்தெகாய் இந்த நிகழ்வுகளைப் பதிவுசெய்து, அருகிலும் தூரத்திலும் அகாஸ்வேரு அரசனின் மாகாணங்கள் எங்குமுள்ள எல்லா யூதர்களுக்கும் கடிதங்களை அனுப்பினான்.

And Mordecai writeth these things, and sendeth letters unto all the Jews who [are] in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus, who are near and who are far off,

21 அதில் வருடந்தோறும் ஆதார் மாதத்தின் பதினான்காம், பதினைந்தாம் நாட்களைக் கொண்டாடும்படி கேட்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

to establish on them, to be keeping the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and the fifteenth day of it, in every year and year,

22 இதை யூதர்கள் தங்கள் பகைவரிடமிருந்து விடுதலை பெற்ற காலமாகவும், அவர்களுடைய துக்கம் சந்தோஷமாக மாறிய மாதமாகவும், தங்களுடைய அழுகை கொண்டாட்டமாக மாறிய நாளாகவும் கொண்டாடும்படி எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது. அந்த நாட்களை விருந்துண்டு மகிழும் நாட்களாகவும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உணவுகளை அன்பளிப்பாகக் கொடுக்கும் நாட்களாகவும், ஏழைகளுக்கு அன்பளிப்புகளைக் கொடுக்கும் நாட்களாகவும் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி எழுதினான்.

as days on which the Jews have rested from their enemies, and the month that hath been turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning to a good day, to make them days of banquet and of joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the needy.

23 எனவே யூதர்கள், மொர்தெகாய் தங்களுக்கு எழுதியபடிச் செய்து, தாங்கள் தொடங்கியிருந்த கொண்டாட்டத்தைத் தொடர்ந்துசெய்ய சம்மதித்தார்கள்.

And the Jews have received that which they had begun to do, and that which Mordecai hath written unto them,

24 ஏனெனில், எல்லா யூதர்களின் பகைவனான, ஆகாகியன் அம்மெதாத்தாவின் மகன் ஆமான் யூதர்களை அழிப்பதற்கென அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகத் திட்டமிட்டிருந்தான். அத்துடன் அவர்களுடைய அழிவுக்காகவும், நாசத்துக்காகவும் அவன் பூர் எனப்படும் சீட்டையும் போட்டிருந்தான்.

because Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, adversary of all the Jews, had devised concerning the Jews to destroy them, and had caused to fall Pur — that [is] the lot — to crush them and to destroy them;

25 ஆனால் இந்தச் சதி அரசனின் கவனத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டபோது, யூதருக்கு எதிராக ஆமான் திட்டமிட்டிருந்த அந்த கொடிய சதித்திட்டம் அவனுடைய தலையின் மேலேயே திரும்பிவரும்படி, அரசன் ஒரு எழுத்து மூலமான உத்தரவைப் பிறப்பித்தான். அத்துடன் ஆமானும், அவன் மகன்களும் தூக்கு மரங்களில் தூக்கிலிடப்பட வேண்டும் என்றும் உத்தரவிட்டான்.

and in her coming in before the king, he said with the letter, 'Let his evil device that he devised against the Jews turn back upon his own head,' and they have hanged him and his sons on the tree,

26 ஆகவேதான் இந்த நாட்கள் பூர் என்ற சொல்லிலிருந்து பூரீம் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன. இந்தக் கடிதத்தில் எழுதப்பட்ட எல்லாவற்றிற்காகவும், அவர்கள் கண்டவற்றிற்காகவும், அவர்களுக்கு நிகழ்ந்தவற்றிற்காகவும்,

therefore they have called these days Purim — by the name of the lot — therefore, because of all the words of this letter, and what they have seen concerning this, and what hath come unto them,

27 யூதர்கள் ஒரு வழக்கத்தை நிலைநிறுத்தவேண்டும் என்றும் உறுதி செய்துகொண்டார்கள். தாங்களும், தங்கள் சந்ததிகளும், தங்களுடன் இணைந்துகொள்ளும் எல்லோருடனும் வருடந்தோறும் இந்த இரண்டு நாட்களையும் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட காலத்திலேயும், விபரிக்கப்பட்ட விதத்திலேயும் தவறாது கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றும் தீர்மானித்தார்கள்.

the Jews have established and received upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all those joined unto them, and it doth not pass away, to be keeping these two days according to their writing, and according to their season, in every year and year;

28 ஒவ்வொரு மாகாணத்திலும் ஒவ்வொரு பட்டணத்திலும் இருக்கும், ஒவ்வொரு வழித்தோன்றலும் ஒவ்வொரு குடும்பத்தாரும் இந்த நாளை நினைவிற்கொண்டு கொண்டாடவேண்டும். இந்த பூரீம் நாட்கள் யூதர்களால் கொண்டாடப்படுவது ஒருபோதும் நின்று போகக்கூடாது. அவற்றைப் பற்றிய ஞாபகமும், அவர்களுடைய வழித்தோன்றலிலிருந்து அற்றுப்போகக் கூடாது என்றும் தீர்மானித்தார்கள்.

and these days are remembered and kept in every generation and generation, family and family, province and province, and city and city, and these days of Purim do not pass away from the midst of the Jews, and their memorial is not ended from their seed.

29 எனவே அபிகாயிலின் மகளான எஸ்தர் அரசி, யூதனான மொர்தெகாயுடன் சேர்ந்து, பூரிமைப் பற்றிய இந்த இரண்டாவது கடிதத்தை உறுதிப்படுத்தும்படி முழு அதிகாரத்துடனும் எழுதினாள்.

And Esther the queen, daughter of Abihail, writeth, and Mordecai the Jew, with all might, to establish this second letter of Purim,

30 மொர்தெகாய் அகாஸ்வேருவின் அரசின் நூற்றிருபத்தேழு மாகாணங்களிலுமுள்ள எல்லா யூதர்களுக்கும் நல்லெண்ணத்தையும், நிச்சயத்தையும் தெரிவிக்கும் கடிதங்களை அனுப்பினான்.

and he sendeth letters unto all the Jews, unto the seven and twenty and a hundred provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus — words of peace and truth —

31 யூதனான மொர்தெகாயும், எஸ்தர் அரசியும் யூதர்களுக்கும் அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளுக்கும், அவர்கள் உபவாசித்து, துக்கங்கொண்டாட வேண்டிய காலத்தை நிலை நாட்டியது போல, இந்த பூரீம் நாட்களையும் நிலைநாட்டுவதற்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தார்கள்.

to establish these days of Purim, in their seasons, as Mordecai the Jew hath established on them, and Esther the queen, and as they had established on themselves, and on their seed — matters of the fastings, and of their cry.

32 எஸ்தரின் கட்டளை பூரிமைப் பற்றிய ஒழுங்குவிதிகளை உறுதிப்படுத்தியது. அது புத்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டது.

And a saying of Esther hath established these matters of Purim, and it is written in the Book.
