4 Mosebok 10
1 Och HERREN talade till Mose och sade:
Yahweh also told Moses/me,
2 "Gör dig två trumpeter av silver; i drivet arbete skall du göra dem. Dessa skall du bruka, när menigheten skall sammankallas, och när lägren skola bryta upp.
“[Tell someone to] make two trumpets by hammering each one from [one lump of] silver. Blow the trumpets to summon the people to come together and also to signal that they must move their tents [to a new location].
3 När man stöter i dem båda, skall hela menigheten församla sig till dig, vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet.
If both trumpets are blown, it means that everyone must gather together at the entrance of the Sacred Tent.
4 Men när man stöter allenast i den ena, skola hövdingarna, huvudmännen för Israels ätter, församla sig till dig.
If only one trumpet is blown, it means that only the [twelve] leaders of the tribes must gather together.
5 Och när I blåsen en larmsignal, skola de läger bryta upp, som ligga österut.
If the trumpets are blown loudly, the tribes that are to the east [of the Sacred Tent] should start to travel.
6 Men när I blåsen larmsignal för andra gången, skola de läger bryta upp, som ligga söderut. När lägren skola bryta upp, skall man blåsa larmsignal,
When the trumpets are blown loudly the second time, the tribes that are to the south should start to travel. The loud blasts on the trumpet will signal that they should start to travel.
7 men när församlingen skall sammankallas, skolen I icke blåsa larmsignal, utan stöta i trumpeterna.
When you want only to gather the people together, blow the trumpets, but do not blow them as loudly.
8 Och Arons söner, prästerna, äro de som skola blåsa i trumpeterna. Detta skall vara en evärdlig stadga för eder från släkte till släkte.
“The priests who are descended from Aaron are the ones who should blow the trumpets. That is a regulation that will never be changed.
9 Och om I, i edert land, dragen ut till strid mot någon eder ovän som angriper eder, så skolen I blåsa larmsignal med trumpeterna; härigenom skolen I då bringas i åminnelse inför HERRENS, eder Guds, ansikte, och I skolen så bliva frälsta ifrån edra fiender.
When you fight against enemies who attack you in your own land, tell the priests to blow the trumpets loudly. I, Yahweh, your God, will hear that, and I will rescue you from your enemies.
10 Och när I haven en glädjedag och haven edra högtider och nymånader, skolen I stöta i trumpeterna, då I offren edra brännoffer och tackoffer; så skola de bringa eder i åminnelse inför eder Guds ansikte. Jag är HERREN, eder Gud."
Also tell the priests to blow the trumpets when the people are happy, and at the festivals [each year], and at the times when they celebrate the new moon each month. Tell them to blow the trumpets when the people bring offerings that will be completely burned, and when they bring offerings to maintain fellowship with me. If they do that, it will help you to remember that I, Yahweh your God, [will help you].”
11 I andra året, i andra månaden, på tjugonde dagen i månaden höjde sig molnskyn från vittnesbördets tabernakel.
On the twentieth day of May in the second year [after the/we Israelis left Egypt], the cloud rose up from above the Sacred Tent.
12 Då bröto Israels barn upp från Sinais öken och tågade från lägerplats till lägerplats; och molnskyn stannade i öknen Paran.
So we/the Israelis traveled from the Sinai Desert, and we/they continued traveling [north] until the cloud stopped in the Paran Desert.
13 Och när de nu första gången bröto upp, efter HERRENS befallning genom Mose,
That was the first time we/they moved, obeying the instructions that Yahweh had given to Moses/me to tell them.
14 var Juda barns läger under sitt baner det första som bröt upp, häravdelning efter häravdelning; och anförare för denna här var Naheson, Amminadabs son.
The group that went first, carrying their flag/banner, was the group from the tribe of Judah. Nahshon, the son of Amminadab, was their leader.
15 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Isaskars barns stam var Netanel, Suars son.
The group from the tribe of Issachar [followed them]. Nethanel, the son of Zuar, was their leader.
16 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Sebulons barns stam var Eliab, Helons son.
The group from the tribe of Zebulun went next. Eliab, the son of Helon, was their leader.
17 Därefter, sedan tabernaklet hade blivit nedtaget, bröto Gersons barn och Meraris barn upp och buro tabernaklet.
Then they dismantled the Sacred Tent, and the descendants of Gershon and Merari carried it, and they went next.
18 Därefter bröt Rubens läger upp under sitt baner, häravdelning efter häravdelning; och anförare för denna här var Elisur, Sedeurs son.
The group from the tribe of Reuben went next, carrying their flag. Elizur, the son of Shedeur, was their leader.
19 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Simeons barns stam var Selumiel, Surisaddais son.
The group from the tribe of Simeon was next. Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai, was their leader.
20 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Gads barns stam var Eljasaf, Deguels son.
The group from the tribe of Gad was next. Eliasaph, the son of Deuel, was their leader.
21 Därefter bröto kehatiterna upp och buro de heliga tingen, och de andra satte upp tabernaklet, innan dessa hunno fram.
The group descended from Kohath was next. They carried the sacred items from the Sacred Tent. The Sacred Tent itself was set up at the new location before they arrived there.
22 Därefter bröt Efraims barns läger upp under sitt baner, häravdelning efter häravdelning; och anförare för denna här var Elisama, Ammihuds son.
The group from the tribe of Ephraim was next, carrying their flag. Elishama, the son of Ammihud, was their leader.
23 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Manasse barns stam var Gamliel, Pedasurs son.
The group from the tribe of Manasseh went next. Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, was their leader.
24 Och anförare for den här som utgjordes av Benjamins barns stam var Abidan, Gideonis son.
The group from the tribe of Benjamin, went next. Abidan, the son of Gideoni, was their leader.
25 Därefter bröt Dans barns läger upp under sitt baner, såsom eftertrupp i hela lägertåget, häravdelning efter häravdelning; och anförare för denna här var Ahieser, Ammisaddais son.
The ones who went last were the group from the tribe of Dan, carrying their flag. Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai, was their leader.
26 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Asers barns stam var Pagiel, Okrans son.
The group from the tribe of Asher went next. Pagiel, the son of Ocran, was their leader.
27 Och anförare för den här som utgjordes av Naftali barns stam var Ahira, Enans son.
The group from the tribe of Naphtali went last. Ahira, the son of Enan, was their leader.
28 I denna ordning bröto Israels barn upp, häravdelning efter häravdelning. Och de bröto nu upp.
That was the order in which the groups of Israeli tribes traveled.
29 Och Mose sade till Hobab, som var son till midjaniten Reguel, Moses svärfader: "Vi bryta nu upp och tåga till det land om vilket HERREN har sagt: 'Det vill jag giva eder.' Följ du med oss, så vilja vi göra dig gott, ty HERREN har lovat Israel vad gott är.
One day Moses/I said to his/my brother-in-law Hobab, the son of Reuel from the Midian people-group, “We are on the way to the place that Yahweh promised to give to us. Come with us, and we will take good care of you, because Yahweh has promised [to do] good things for us Israeli people.”
30 Men han svarade honom: "Jag vill icke följa med, utan jag vill gå hem till mitt land och till min släkt."
But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go with you. I want to return to my own land and to my own family.”
31 Då sade han: "Ack nej, övergiv oss icke. Du vet ju bäst var vi kunna lägra oss i öknen; bliv du därför nu vårt öga.
But Moses/I said, “Please do not leave us. You know the places where we can set up our tents in this desert, and you can guide us.
32 Om du följer med oss, skola vi låta också dig få gott av det goda som HERREN gör mot oss.
Come with us. We will share with you all the good things that Yahweh gives to us.”
33 Så bröto de upp och tågade från HERRENS berg tre dagsresor. Och HERRENS förbundsark gick framför dem tre dagsresor, för att utse viloplats åt dem.
[So Hobab agreed to go with them]. The Israelis left Sinai Mountain, [which they called] Yahweh’s Mountain, and they walked for three days. The [men carrying the] sacred chest went in front of the other people for those three days, and they kept looking for a place to set up their tents.
34 Och HERRENS molnsky svävade över dem om dagen, när de bröto upp från sitt lägerställe.
The cloud sent by Yahweh was over them every day.
35 Och så ofta arken bröt upp, sade Mose: "Stå upp, HERRE; må dina fiender varda förskingrade, och må de som hata dig fly för ditt ansikte."
Each morning when the men who were carrying the sacred chest started to walk, Moses/I said, “Yahweh, arise! Scatter your enemies! Cause those who hate you to run away from you!”
36 Och när den sattes ned, sade han: "Kom tillbaka, HERRE, till Israels ätters mångtusenden."
And each time the men [stopped to] set down the sacred chest, Moses/I said, “Yahweh, stay close to the thousands of us Israelis!”
