1 Och David jämte härhövitsmännen avskilde till tjänstgöring Asafs, Hemans och Jedutuns söner, som hade profetisk anda till att spela på harpor, psaltare och cymbaler. Och detta är förteckningen på dem, på de män som fingo denna tjänstgöring till åliggande.

Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, were to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals: and the number of those who did the work according to their service was:

of the sons of Asaph: Zakkur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied after the order of the king.

3 Av Jedutun: Jedutuns söner Gedalja, Seri, Jesaja, Hasabja och Mattitja, tillsammans sex, med harpor, under ledning av sin fader Jedutun, som hade profetisk anda till att spela tack- och lovsånger till HERREN.

Of Jeduthun; the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, and Shimei, and Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with the harp in giving thanks and praising YHWH.

4 Av Heman: Hemans söner Buckia, Mattanja, Ussiel, Sebuel och Jerimot, Hananja, Hanani, Eliata, Giddalti och Romamti-Eser, Josbekasa, Malloti, Hotir, Mahasiot.

Of Heman; the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

5 Alla dessa voro söner till Heman, som var konungens siare, enligt det löfte Gud hade givit, att han ville upphöja hans horn; därför gav Gud Heman fjorton söner och tre döttrar.

All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 Alla dessa stodo var och en under sin faders ledning, när de utförde sången i HERRENS hus till cymbaler, psaltare och harpor och så gjorde tjänst i Guds hus; de stodo under konungens, Asafs, Jedutuns och Hemans ledning.

All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of YHWH, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of God's house; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

7 Och antalet av dem jämte deras bröder, av dem som hade blivit undervisade i sången till HERREN ära, alla de däri kunniga, utgjorde två hundra åttioåtta.

The number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in singing to YHWH, even all who were skillful, was two hundred eighty-eight.

8 Och de kastade lott om tjänstgöringen, alla, den minste likasåväl som den störste, den kunnige jämte lärjungen.

9 Den första lotten kom ut för Asaf och föll på Josef; den andre blev Gedalja, han själv med sina bröder och söner, tillsammans tolv;

19 den tolfte lotten kom ut för Hasabja, med hans söner och bröder tillsammans tolv;

the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve:

20 den trettonde blev Subael, med sina söner och bröder, tillsammans tolv;

for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers, twelve:

21 den fjortonde blev Mattitja, med sina söner och bröder, tillsammans tolv;

for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve:

22 den femtonde lotten kom ut för Jeremot, med hans söner och bröder, tillsammans tolv;

for the fifteenth to Jerimoth, his sons and his brothers, twelve:

23 den sextonde för Hananja, med hans söner och bröder, tillsammans tolv;
