Psaltaren 101

1 En Psalm Davids. Om nåd och rätt vill jag sjunga; och dig, Herre, lofsäga.

A Psalm by David. I will sing of loving kindness and justice. To you, LORD, I will sing praises.

2 Jag handlar försigteliga och redeliga med dem som mig tillhöra, och vandrar troliga i mitt hus.

I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.

3 Jag tager mig ingen ond sak före; jag hatar öfverträdaren, och låter honom icke när mig blifva.

I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me.

4 Ett vrångt hjerta måste vika ifrå mig; den onda lider jag icke.

A perverse heart will be far from me. I will have nothing to do with evil.

5 Den sin nästa hemliga baktalar, honom förgör jag; den der storlåtig är och högt sinne hafver, honom lider jag icke.

I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor. I won’t tolerate one who is arrogant and conceited.

6 Mine ögon se efter de trogna i landena, att de måga när mig bo; och hafver gerna fromma tjenare.

My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will serve me.

7 Falskt folk håller jag icke i mitt hus; ljugare trifvas icke när mig.

He who practices deceit won’t dwell within my house. He who speaks falsehood won’t be established before my eyes.

8 Bittida förgör jag alla ogudaktiga i landena, att jag må utrota alla ogerningsmän utu Herrans stad.

Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land, to cut off all the workers of iniquity from the LORD’s city.
