Klagovisorna 3
1 Jag är en elände man, den hans grymhets ris se måste.
ALEPH. I am the man that sees poverty, through the rod of his wrath upon me.
2 Han hafver ledt mig, och låtit mig gå i mörkrena, och icke i ljusena.
He has taken me, and led me away into darkness, and not [into] light.
3 Han hafver vändt sina hand emot mig, och handlar fast annorlunda med mig alltid.
Nay, against me has he turned his hand all the day.
4 Han hafver gjort mitt kött och mina hud gammal, och sönderslagit min ben.
He has made old my flesh and my skin; he has broken my bones.
5 Han hafver byggt emot mig, och bevefvat mig uti galla och mödo.
BETH. He has built against me, and compassed my head, and brought travail [upon me].
6 Han hafver lagt mig uti mörkret, lika som de döda i verldene.
He has set me in dark places, as them that have long been dead.
7 Han hafver innemurat mig, så att jag icke utkomma kan, och satt mig uti hårda fjettrar.
He has builded against me, and I can’t come forth: he has made my brazen [chain] heavy.
8 Och om jag än ropade och både, så stoppar han öronen till för mina bön.
GIMEL. Yes, [though] I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
9 Han hafver igenmurat min väg med huggen sten, och mina stigar igentäppt.
DALETH. He has built up my ways, he has hedged my paths;
10 Han hafver vaktat efter mig lika som en björn, lika som ett lejon i lönlig rum.
he has troubled me, [as] a she-bear lying in wait: he is to me [as] a lion in secret places.
11 Han hafver låtit mig fela om vägen; han hafver rifvit mig i stycken sönder, och tillintetgjort.
He pursued [me] after I departed, and brought me to a stand: he has utterly ruined me.
12 Han hafver spänt sin båga, och satt mig; såsom ett mål för pilenom.
HE. He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13 Han hafver utaf kogret låtit skjuta mig i mina njurar.
He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
14 Jag är vorden till spott allo mino folke, och deras dagliga visa.
I became a laughing stock to all my people; and their song all the day.
15 Han hafver måttat mig med bitterhet, och gifvit mig malört dricka.
VAU. He has filled me with bitterness, he has drenched me with gall.
16 Han hafver slagit mina tänder sönder i små stycke, och vältrat mig uti asko.
And he has dashed out my teeth with gravel, he has fed me with ashes.
17 Min själ är fördrifven ifrå fridenom; goda, dagar måste jag förgäta.
He has also removed my soul from peace: I forgot prosperity.
18 Jag sade: Mitt hopp är ute, att jag någon tid mer skall vara när Herranom.
Therefore my success has perished, and my hope from the Lord.
19 Kom dock ihåg, huru jag är elände och öfvergifven, och malört och galla druckit hafver.
ZAIN. I remembered by reason of my poverty, and because of persecution my bitterness and gall shall be remembered;
20 Du varder ju deruppå tänkandes; ty min själ säger mig det.
and my soul shall meditate with me.
21 Det lägger jag på hjertat, derföre hoppas mig ännu.
This will I lay up in my heart, therefore I will endure.
22 Herrans mildhet är det, att ännu icke är ute med oss; hans barmhertighet hafver än nu icke ända;
HETH. [It is] the mercies of the Lord, that he has not failed me, because his compassions are not exhausted. Pity [us], O Lord, early [every] month: for we are not brought to an end, because his compassions are not exhausted.
23 Utan hon är hvar morgon ny, och din trohet är stor.
[They are] new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
24 Herren är min del, säger min själ; derför vill jag hoppas uppå honom.
The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I wait for him.
25 Ty Herren är god dem som hoppas uppå honom, och den själ som frågar efter honom.
TETH. The Lord is good to them that wait for him: the soul which shall seek him
26 Det är en kostelig ting, att man är tålig, och hoppas uppå Herrans hjelp.
[is] good, and shall wait for, and quietly expect salvation of the Lord.
27 Det är en kostelig ting, att man drager oket i ungdomen;
TETH. [It is] good for a man when he bears a yoke in his youth.
28 Att en, som öfvergifven är, hafver tålamod, när honom något uppåkommer;
He will sit alone, and be silent, because he has borne [it] upon him.
29 Och sätter sin mun uti stoft, och vänter efter hoppet;
30 Och låtter slå sig vid kindbenet, och lägger mycken försmädelse uppå sig.
JOD. He will give [his] cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches.
31 Ty Herren drifver icke ifrå sig evinnerliga;
For the Lord will not reject for ever.
32 Utan han bedröfvar väl; men han förbarmar sig igen, efter sin stora mildhet.
CHAPH. For he that has brought down will pity, and [that] according to the abundance of his mercy.
33 Ty han plågar och bedröfvar icke menniskona af hjertat;
He has not answered [in anger] from his heart, though he has brought low the children of a man.
34 Lika som han ville platt undertrycka låta de elända på jordene;
LAMED. To bring down under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
35 Och låta deras sak för Gudi orätta vara;
to turn aside the judgment of a man before the face of the Most High,
36 Och dem falskeliga döma låta, lika som Herren såge det intet.
to condemn a man [unjustly] in his judgment, the Lord has not given commandment.
37 Ho tör då säga, att sådant sker utan Herrans befallning;
Who has thus spoken, and it has come to pass? the Lord has not commanded it.
38 Och att hvarken ondt eller godt kommer igenom hans befallning?
Out of the mouth of the Most High there shall not come forth evil and good.
39 Hvi knorra då menniskorna alltså, medan de lefva? Hvar och en knorre emot sina synder.
MEM. Why should a living man complain, a man concerning his sin?
40 Och låt oss ransaka och söka vårt väsende, och omvända oss till Herran.
NUN. Our way has been searched out and examined, and we will turn to the Lord.
41 Låt oss upplyfta vår hjerta, samt med händerna, till Gud i himmelen.
Let us lift up our hearts with [our] hand to the lofty One in heaven.
42 Vi, vi hafve syndat, och olydige varit; derföre hafver du med rätta intet skonat;
We have sinned, we have transgressed; and you have not pardoned.
43 Utan du hafver förmörkrat oss med vrede, och förföljt och dräpit utan barmhertighet.
SAMECH. You has visited [us] in wrath, and driven us away: you has slain, you has not pitied.
44 Du hafver betäckt dig med en sky, att ingen bön derigenom komma kunde.
You have veiled yourself with a cloud because of prayer, that I might be blind,
45 Du hafver gjort oss till träck och slemhet ibland folken.
and be cast off. AIN. You have set us [alone] in the midst of the nations.
46 Alle våre fiender gapa med munnen emot oss.
All our enemies have opened their mouth against us.
47 Vi varde förtryckte och plågade med förskräckelse och ångest.
Fear and wrath are come upon us, suspense and destruction.
48 Min ögon rinna med vattubäcker, öfver mins folks dotters jämmer.
Mine eye shall pour down torrents of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 Min ögon flyta, och kunna icke aflåta; ty der är ingen återvända;
PHE. Mine eye is drowned [with tears], and I will not be silent, so that there shall be no rest,
50 Tilldess Herren af himmelen skådar härned, och ser dertill.
until the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
51 Mitt öga fräter mig lifvet bort, för alla mins stads döttrars skull.
Mine eye shall prey upon my soul, because of all the daughters of the city.
52 Mine fiender hafva besnärt mig, lika som en fågel, utan sak.
TSADE. The fowlers chased me as a sparrow, all mine enemies destroyed my life in a pit without cause,
53 De hafva förgjort mitt lif uti ene kulo, och kastat uppå mig stenar.
and laid a stone upon me.
54 De hafva ock begjutit mitt hufvud med vatten; då sade jag: Nu är det platt ute med mig.
Water flowed over my head: I said, I am cut off.
55 Men jag åkallade ditt Namn, Herre, nedan utu kulone;
KOPH. I called upon your name, O Lord, out of the lowest dungeon.
56 Och du hörde mina röst: Bortgöm icke din öron för mitt suckande och ropande.
You heard my voice: close not your ears to my supplication.
57 Nalka dig till mig, när jag åkallar dig och säg; Frukta dig intet.
You drew near to my help: in the day wherein I called upon you you said to me, Fear not.
58 Uträtta, du Herre, mins själs sak, och förlossa mitt lif.
RECHS. O Lord, you has pleaded the causes of my soul; you has redeemed my life.
59 Herre, se dock till, huru orätt mig sker, och hjelp mig till min rätt.
You have seen, O Lord, my troubles: you have judged my cause.
60 Du ser alla deras hämnd, och alla deras tankar emot mig.
You have seen all their vengeance, [you have looked] on all their devices against me.
61 Herre, du hörer deras försmädelse, och alla deras tankar öfver mig;
CHSEN. You have heard their reproach [and] all their devices against me;
62 Mina motståndares läppar, och deras rådslag emot mig dagliga.
the lips of them that rose up against me, and their plots against me all the day;
63 Se dock, ehvad de sig lägga eller uppstå, så qväda de visor om mig.
their sitting down and their rising up: look you upon their eyes.
64 Vedergäll dem, Herre, såsom de förtjent hafva.
You will render them a recompense, O Lord, according to the works of their hands.
65 Låt dem deras hjerta förskräckas och känna dina banno.
THAU. You will give them [as] a covering, the grief of my heart.
66 Förfölj dem med grymhet, och förgör dem under Herrans himmel.
You will persecute them in anger, and will consume them from under the heaven, O Lord.
