Job 32
1 Då vände de tre män åter att svara Job; efter han höll sig rättfärdigan.
So these three men stopped answering Job because he was righteous in his own eyes.
2 Men Elihu, Baracheels son, af Bus af Kams slägte, vardt vreder uppå Job, att han höll sina själ rättfärdigare än Gud.
Then was kindled the anger of Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram; it was kindled against Job because he justified himself rather than God.
3 Ock vardt han vred uppå de tre hans vänner, att de intet svar funno, och dock fördömde Job.
Elihu's anger was also kindled against his three friends because they had found no answer to Job, and yet they had condemned Job.
4 Ty Elihu hade bidt, så länge de hade talat med Job, efter de voro äldre än han.
Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because the other men were older than he.
5 Derföre, då, han såg, att intet svar var i de tre mäns mun, vardt han vred.
However, when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouths of these three men, his anger was kindled.
6 Och så svarade Elihu, Baracheels son, af Bus, och sade: Jag är ung, och I ären gamle, derföre hafver jag skytt, och fruktat bevisa min konst på eder.
Then Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite spoke up and said, “I am young, and you are very old. That is why I held back and did not dare to tell you my own opinion.
7 Jag tänkte: Låt åren tala, och åldren bevisa vishet.
I said, “Length of days should speak; a multitude of years should teach wisdom.
8 Men anden är i menniskone, och dens Allsmägtigas Ande gör henne förståndiga.
But there is a spirit in a man; the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
9 Mästarena äro icke de visaste, och de gamle förstå icke hvad rätt är.
It is not only the great people who are wise, nor the aged people alone who understand justice.
10 Derföre vill jag ock tala; hör härtill, jag vill ock bevisa mina konst.
Therefore I say to you, 'Listen to me; I will also tell you my knowledge.'
11 Si, jag hafver bidt, medan I talat hafven; jag hafver gifvit akt på edart förstånd, tilldess I hafven gjort en ända på edart tal.
See, I waited for your words; I listened to your arguments while you were thinking about what to say.
12 Och jag hafver haft akt uppå eder, och si, ingen är ibland eder, som Job straffa, eller till hans ord svara kan.
Indeed, I paid attention to you, but, see, there was not one of you who could convince Job or who could respond to his words.
13 I mågen tilläfventyrs säga: Vi hafve drabbat på vishetena, att Gud hafver bortkastat honom, och ingen annar.
Be careful not to say, 'We have found wisdom!' God will have to defeat Job; mere man cannot do it.
14 Det talet gör mig icke fyllest; jag vill intet svara honom, efter som I taladen.
For Job has not directed his words against me, so I will not answer him with your words.
15 Ack! de uppgifvas, och kunna intet mer svara; de kunna intet mer tala.
These three men are dumbfounded; they can answer Job no longer; they have not a word more to say.
16 Efter jag nu bidt hafver, och de kunna intet tala; förty de stå tyste, och svara intet mer;
Should I wait because they are not speaking, because they stand there silent and answer no more?
17 Vill jag dock svara min part, och bevisa mina konst;
No, I also will answer on my part; I will also tell them my knowledge.
18 Ty jag är så full med ordom, att min ande ängslas i minom buk.
For I am full of words; the spirit in me compels me.
19 Si, min buk är såsom must, dem tilltäppt är, hvilken ny fat sönderslår.
See, my breast is like fermenting wine that has no vent; like new wineskins, it is ready to burst.
20 Jag måste tala, att jag må få andas; jag måste upplycka mina läppar och svara.
I will speak so that I may be refreshed; I will open my lips and answer.
21 Jag vill på ingens person se, och ingo mennisko till vilja tala;
I will not show favoritism; neither will I give honorific titles to any man.
22 Förty jag vet icke, om jag så gjorde, om min skapare innan en kort tid mig borttagandes vorde.
For I do not know how to give such titles; if I did so, my Maker would soon take me away.
