1 Krönikeboken 11
1 Och hele Israel samlade sig: till David i Hebron, och sade: Si, vi äre ditt ben och ditt kött.
And all Israel came to David in Chebron, saying, Behold, we [are] your bones and your flesh.
2 Och tillförene, medan Saul var Konung, förde du Israel ut och in; så hafver ock Herren din Gud sagt till dig: Du skall föda mitt folk Israel, och du skall vara en Förste öfver mitt folk Israel.
And heretofore when Saul was king, you were he that led Israel in and out, and the Lord of Israel said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be for a ruler over Israel.
3 Kommo också alle Israels äldste till Konungen i Hebron. Och David gjorde ett förbund med dem i Hebron för Herranom. Och de smorde David till Konung öfver Israel, efter Herrans ord, genom Samuel.
And all the elders of Israel came to the king to Chebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Chebron before the Lord: and they anointed David to be king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord by Samuel.
4 Och David drog åstad, och hele Israel, till Jerusalem, det är Jebus; ty de Jebuseer bodde i landena.
And the king and his men went to Jerusalem, this [is] Jebus; and there the Jebusites the inhabitants of the land said to David,
5 Och de borgare i Jebus sade till David: Du skall icke komma härin. Men David vann den borgen Zion, det är Davids stad.
You shall not enter in hither. But he took the strong hold of Sion: this [is] the city of David.
6 Och David sade: Den som de Jebuseer först slår, han skall vara hufvud och öfverste. Då steg Joab, ZeruJa son, först upp, och vardt höfvitsmän.
And David said, Whoever first smites the Jebusite, even he shall be chief and captain. And Joab the son of Saruia went up first, and became chief.
7 Och David bodde på borgene; deraf kallar man henne Davids stad.
And David lived in the strong hold; therefore he called it the city of David.
8 Och han byggde staden omkring, ifrå Millo och sedan allt omkring; och Joab lät lefva dem som qvare voro i stadenom.
And he fortified the city round about.
9 Och David hade framgång, och kom sig före; och Herren Zebaoth var med honom.
And David continued to increase, and the Lord Almighty [was] with him.
10 Desse äro de öfverste ibland Davids väldiga, de der manliga höllo med honom i hans rike, när hela Israel, så att man gjorde honom till Konung, efter Herrans ord, öfver Israel.
And these [are] the chiefs of the mighty men, whom David had, who strengthened [themselves] with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
11 Och detta är talet på Davids väldiga män: Jasabeam, Hachmoni son, den ypperste ibland tretio; han hof sin spets upp, och slog trehundrad i en gång.
And this [is] the list of the mighty [men] of David; Jesebada, son of Achaman, first of the thirty: he drew his sword once against three hundred whom he killed at one time.
12 Näst honom var Eleazar, Dodo son, den Ahohiten, och han var ibland de tre väldiga.
And after him Eleazar son of Dodai, the Achochite: he was among the three mighty men.
13 Denne var med David, då de talade hädelse, och de Philisteer sig der församlat hade till strid; och var ett stycke åker fullt med bjugg, och folket flydde för de Philisteer.
He was with David in Phasodamin, and the Philistines were gathered there to battle, and [there was] a portion of the field full of barley; and the people fled before the Philistines.
14 Och de trädde midt uppå åkerstycket, och undsatte det, och slogo de Philisteer; och Herren gaf en stor salighet.
And he stood in the midst of the portion, and rescued it, and struck the Philistines; and the Lord wrought a great deliverance.
15 Och de tre utaf de yppersta tretio drogo neder till bergshällen till David, i den kulona Adullam; men de Philisteers lägre var i Rephaims dal.
And three of the thirty chiefs went down to the rock to David, to the cave of Odollam, and the camp of the Philistines [was] in the giants' valley.
16 Och David var i borgene; och de Philisteers folk var på den tid i BethLehem.
And David [was] then in the hold, and the garrison of the Philistines [was] then in Bethleem.
17 Och David fick lusta, och sade: Ho vill gifva mig dricka af det vattnet i den brunnen i BethLehem, under portenom?
And David longed, and said, Who will give me water to drink of the well of Bethleem, that is in the gate?
18 Då slogo desse tre genom de Philisteers lägre, och hemtade vatten utu brunnen i BethLehem, under portenom, och båro till David. Men han ville icke drickat, utan utgöt det Herranom;
And the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, and they drew water out of the well that was in Bethleem, which was in the gate, and they took it, and came to David: but David would not drink it, and poured it out to the Lord, and said,
19 Och sade: Det låte Gud vara långt ifrå mig, att jag detta göra skulle, och dricka dessa mäns blod i deras lifsfara; förty de hafva det hemtat med sins lifs fara; derföre ville han icke drickat. Det gjorde de tre hjeltar.
God forbid that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men with their lives? for with [the peril of] their lives they brought it. So he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty [men].
20 Abisai, Joabs broder, han var den ypperste ibland tre, och han hof sin spets upp, och slog trehundrad, och han var beprisad ibland tre.
And Abisa the brother of Joab, he was chief of three: he drew his sword against three hundred slain at one time, and he had a name among the [second] three.
21 Och han den tredje härligare än de två, och var deras öfverste; men till de tre kom han icke.
He was more famous than the two [others] of the three, and he was chief [over] them; yet he reached not to the [first] three.
22 Benaja, Jojada son, IsHails sons, den mycket bedrifvit hade, af Kabzeel, han slog tu de Moabiters lejon; och gick neder, och slog ett lejon midt i brunnenom i snötiden.
And Banaia the son of Jodae was the son of a mighty man: many [were] his acts for Cabasael: he struck two lion-like men of Moab, and he went down and struck a lion in a pit on a snowy day.
23 Han slog ock en Egyptisk man; han var fem alnar lång, och hade en spets i handene såsom ett väfträ; men han gick ned till honom med en staf, och tog honom spetsen utu handene, och drap honom med hans egen spets.
And he struck an Egyptian, a wonderful man five cubits [high]; and in the hand of the Egyptian [there was] a spear like a weavers' beam; and Banaia went down to him with a staff, and took the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and killed him with his own spear.
24 Det gjorde Benaja, Jojada son, och vardt beprisad ibland tre hjeltar;
These things did Banaia son of Jodae, and his name [was] among the three mighties.
25 Och var den härligaste ibland tretio; men till de tre kom han icke; honom gjorde David till sitt hemliga råd.
He was distinguished beyond the thirty, yet he reached not to the [first] three: and David set him over his family.
26 De stridsamme hjeltar äro desse: Asahel, Joabs broder, Elhanan, Dodo son af BethLehem,
And the mighty [men] of the forces [were], Asael the brother of Joab, Eleanan the son of Dodoe of Bethleem,
27 Sammoth den Haroriten, Helez den Peloniten,
Samaoth the Arorite, Chelles the Phelonite,
28 Ira, Ikkes son, den Thekoiten, Abieser den Anthothiten,
Ora the son of Ekkis the Thecoite, Abiezer the Anathothite,
29 Sibbechai den Husathiten, Ilai den Ahohiten,
Sobochai the Usathite, Eli the Achonite,
30 Maharai den Netophathiten, Heled, Baana son, den Netophathiten,
Marai the Netophathite, Chthaod the son of Nooza the Netophathite,
31 Ithai, Ribai son, af Gibea, BenJamins barnas, Benaja den Pirgathoniten,
Airi the son of Rebie of the hill of Benjamin, Banaias the Pharathonite,
