2 Reyes 23
1 Entonces el rey envió y reunió a todos los hombres responsables de Judá y de Jerusalén.
The king sent, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.
2 Y subió el rey a la casa del Señor, con todos los hombres de Judá y todo el pueblo de Jerusalén, y los sacerdotes y los profetas y todo el pueblo, grandes y pequeños; y estuvieron presentes en su lectura del libro de la ley que había salido a la luz en él templo del Señor.
The king went up to the house of YHWH, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the scroll of the covenant which was found in the house of YHWH.
3 Y el rey tomó su lugar junto al pilar, e hizo un acuerdo ante el Señor, para ir por el camino del Señor, y cumplir sus órdenes y sus decisiones y sus reglas con todo su corazón y toda su alma, y guardar las palabras del pacto registradas en el libro, y todas las personas dieron su palabra para mantener el pacto.
The king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before YHWH, to walk after YHWH, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this scroll; and all the people stood to the covenant.
4 Entonces el rey ordenó a Hilcías, principal sacerdote, a los sacerdotes de segunda orden, y a los guardianes de la puerta, que sacaran de la casa del Señor todas las vasijas hechas para Baal y por el Asera y por todas las estrellas del cielo; y los hizo quemar fuera de Jerusalén en los campos de Cedrón, y se llevó las cenizas de ellos a Betel.
The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of YHWH's temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the Asherah, and for all the host of heaven, and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.
5 Y puso fin a los falsos sacerdotes, que habían sido puestos en sus puestos por los reyes de Judá para velar por la quema de ofrendas en los lugares altos de las ciudades de Judá y las afueras de Jerusalén, y todos aquellos que hicieron ofrendas a Baal y al sol y la luna y los planetas y todas las estrellas del cielo.
He put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places around Jerusalem; those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.
6 Tomó la imagen de Asera del templo del Señor, fuera de Jerusalén, al arroyo Cedrón, quemándolo junto al arroyo hasta convertirlo en polvo, y puso el polvo en la fosa común.
He brought out the Asherah from the house of YHWH, outside of Jerusalem, to the Kidron Valley, and burned it in the Kidron Valley, and beat it to dust, and cast its dust on the graves of the common people.
7 E hizo que derribaran las casas de los que se usaban con fines sexuales entre hombres en el templo del Señor, donde las mujeres hacían túnicas para la Asera.
He broke down the living quarters of the temple prostitutes, that were in the house of YHWH, where the women wove coverings for the Asherah.
8 E hizo que todos los sacerdotes de las ciudades de Judá vinieran a Jerusalén, y profanó los lugares altos donde los sacerdotes habían estado quemando ofrendas, desde Geba hasta Beerseba; e hizo descender los lugares altos que estaban junto a la puerta de Josué, el gobernante de la ciudad, en el lado izquierdo del camino hacia la ciudad.
He brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.
9 Los sacerdotes de los lugares altos nunca subieron al altar del Señor en Jerusalén; Pero tomaron su comida de pan sin levadura entre sus hermanos.
Nevertheless the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar of YHWH in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.

He defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.

He took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of YHWH, by the room of Nathan Melech the officer, who was in the court; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

The king broke down the altars that were on the roof of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of YHWH, and beat them down from there, and cast their dust into the Kidron Valley.
13 Y los lugares altos antes de Jerusalén, en el lado sur de la montaña de corrupción, que Salomón, rey de Israel, había hecho para Astarte, el dios repugnante de los sidonios, y para Quemos, el dios repugnante de Moab, y para Milcom, el dios repugnante de los hijos de Amón, el rey profano todo.
The king defiled the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mountain of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Milcom the abomination of the people of Ammon.
14 Se rompieron en pedazos los pilares de piedra y se cortaron los pilares de madera, y los lugares donde habían estado se llenaron de los huesos de los muertos.
He broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherim, and filled their places with the bones of men.

Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down; and he burned the high place and beat it to dust, and burned the Asherah.
16 Entonces Josías, volviéndose, vio en la montaña los lugares de los muertos, y él envió y sacó los huesos de sus lugares y los quemó en el altar, profanándolos, como lo había dicho el Señor a través del hombre de Dios. And as Josiah turned himself, he saw the tombs that were there in the mountain. And he sent, and took the bones out of the tombs, and burned them on the altar, and defiled it, according to the word of YHWH which the man of God proclaimed, when Jeroboam stood by the altar at the feast. And he turned and raised his eyes to the tomb of the man of God who proclaimed these things.
17 ¿Qué es esa lápida que veo allá? Y los hombres del pueblo le dijeron: Es el lugar de descanso del hombre de Dios que vino de Judá y dio a conocer todas estas cosas que has hecho al altar de Betel.
Then he said, "What monument is that which I see?" The men of the city told him, "It is the tomb of the man of God, who came from Judah, and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Bethel."
18 Y él dijo: Déjalo; Que no se muevan sus huesos. Entonces dejaron que sus huesos estuvieran con los huesos del profeta que vino de Samaria.
He said, "Let him be. Let no man move his bones." So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet who came out of Samaria.

All the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke YHWH to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.
20 Y mataron sobre los altares a todos los sacerdotes de los lugares altos, quemando sobre ellos los huesos de los muertos; y luego volvió a Jerusalén.
He killed all the priests of the high places that were there, on the altars, and burned men's bones on them; and he returned to Jerusalem.
21 Y el rey dio órdenes a todo el pueblo, diciendo: Guarda la Pascua al Señor tu Dios, como se dice en este libro de la ley.
The king commanded all the people, saying, "Keep the Passover to YHWH your God, as it is written in this scroll of the covenant."
22 En verdad, tal Pascua no se había celebrado en todos los días de los jueces de Israel o de los reyes de Israel o de los reyes de Judá;
Surely there was not kept such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;
23 En el año dieciocho del gobierno del rey Josías, esta Pascua se llevó a cabo al Señor en Jerusalén.
but in the eighteenth year of king Josiah was this Passover kept to YHWH in Jerusalem.
24 Josias eliminó también a todos los que tenían control de los espíritus familiares, necromancia, magos, los adivinos, de los dioses falsos y de todas las cosas repugnantes que se veían en la tierra de Judá y en Jerusalén. Moreover Josiah removed the mediums, and spiritists, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of YHWH.
25 Nunca antes había habido un rey como él, que se volviera al Señor con todo su corazón y con toda su alma y con todo sus fuerzas, como lo dice la ley de Moisés; y después de él no hubo rey como él.
Like him was there no king before him, who turned to YHWH with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
26 Pero el calor de la ira del Señor seguía por Judá, debido a todas las ofensas que Manasés había hecho para llevarlo a la ira.
Notwithstanding, YHWH did not turn from the fierceness of his great wrath, with which his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocation with which Manasseh had provoked him.
27 Y él Señor dijo: Removeré a Judá de delante de mí, como removi a Israel; No tendré nada más que ver con este pueblo, que había hecho mío, incluso Jerusalén, y el templo santo del que dije: Mi nombre estará allí.
YHWH said, "I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, 'My name shall be there.'"
28 Los demás hechos de Josías, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están registrados en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
29 En sus días, Faraón Necao, rey de Egipto, envió sus ejércitos contra el rey de Asiria al río Éufrates; y el rey Josías salió contra él; y lo mató en Meguido, cuando lo vio.
In his days Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Perath: and king Josiah went against him; and Pharaoh Necoh killed him at Megiddo, when he had seen him.
30 Y sus siervos tomaron su cuerpo en un carruaje de Megido a Jerusalén, y lo enterraron en su sepulcro. Y la gente del pueblo tomó a Joacaz, hijo de Josías, y puso aceite santo sobre él, y lo hizo rey en lugar de su padre.
His servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb. The people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father's place.
31 Joacaz tenía veintitrés años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó en Jerusalén durante tres meses; El nombre de su madre fue Hamutal, la hija de Jeremías de Libna.
Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
32 Hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como habían hecho sus antepasados.
He did that which was evil in the sight of YHWH, according to all that his fathers had done.
33 Y Faraón Necao lo encadenó en Ribla, en la tierra de Hamat, para que no fuera rey en Jerusalén; y tomó de la tierra un impuesto de cien talentos de plata y un talento de oro.
Pharaoh Necoh put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and put the land to a tribute of one hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
34 Entonces Faraón Necao hizo a Eliaquim, hijo de Josías, rey de su padre Josías, cambiando su nombre a Joacim; pero a Joacaz se lo llevó a Egipto, donde estuvo hasta su muerte.
Pharaoh Necoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim: but he took Jehoahaz away; and he came to Egypt, and died there.
35 Y Joacim dio la plata y el oro a Faraón, imponiendo un impuesto a la gente para poder pagar, para obtener el dinero de acuerdo a la orden de Necao; La gente de la tierra tenía que dar plata y oro, como él tenía que pagar impuestos, para hacer el pago a Faraón Necao.
Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of everyone according to his taxation, to give it to Pharaoh Necoh.

Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
37 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor como habían hecho sus antepasados.
He did that which was evil in the sight of YHWH, according to all that his fathers had done.
