Números 35

1 Y habló el SEÑOR a Moisés en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan [near] Jericho, saying,

2 Manda a los hijos de Israel, que den a los levitas de la posesión de su heredad ciudades en que habiten. También daréis a los levitas los ejidos de esas ciudades alrededor de ellas.

Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give [also] unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

3 Y tendrán ellos las ciudades para habitar, y los ejidos de ellas serán para sus animales, y para sus ganados, y para todas sus bestias.

And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

4 Y los ejidos de las ciudades que daréis a los levitas, serán mil codos alrededor, desde el muro de la ciudad para afuera.

And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, [shall reach] from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

5 Luego mediréis fuera de la ciudad a la parte del oriente dos mil codos, y a la parte del mediodía dos mil codos, y a la parte del occidente dos mil codos, y a la parte del norte dos mil codos, y la ciudad en medio: esto tendrán por los ejidos de las ciudades.

And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city [shall be] in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

6 Y de las ciudades que daréis a los levitas, seis ciudades serán de acogimiento, las cuales daréis para que el homicida se acoja allá; y además de éstas daréis cuarenta y dos ciudades.

And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites [there shall be] six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.

7 Todas las ciudades que daréis a los levitas serán cuarenta y ocho ciudades; ellas con sus ejidos.

[So] all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites [shall be] forty and eight cities: them [shall ye give] with their suburbs.

8 Y las ciudades que diereis de la heredad de los hijos de Israel, del que mucho tomaréis mucho, y del que poco tomaréis poco; cada uno dará de sus ciudades a los levitas según la posesión que heredará.

And the cities which ye shall give [shall be] of the possession of the children of Israel: from [them that have] many ye shall give many; but from [them that have] few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.

9 Y habló el SEÑOR a Moisés, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

10 Habla a los hijos de Israel, y diles: Cuando hubiereis pasado el Jordán a la tierra de Canaán,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

11 os señalaréis ciudades, ciudades de acogimiento tendréis, donde huya el homicida que hiriere a alguno por yerro.

Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.

12 Y os serán aquellas ciudades por acogimiento del pariente, y no morirá el homicida hasta que esté a juicio delante de la congregación.

And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

13 De las ciudades, pues, que daréis, tendréis seis ciudades de acogimiento.

And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.

14 Tres ciudades daréis de este lado del Jordán, y tres ciudades daréis en la tierra de Canaán; las cuales serán ciudades de acogimiento.

Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, [which] shall be cities of refuge.

15 Estas seis ciudades serán para acogimiento a los hijos de Israel, y al peregrino, y al que morare entre ellos, para que huya allá cualquiera que hiriere de muerte a otro por yerro.

These six cities shall be a refuge, [both] for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.

16 Y si con instrumento de hierro lo hiriere y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.

And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

17 Y si con piedra de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.

And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

18 Y si con instrumento de palo de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.

Or [if] he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

19 El pariente del muerto, él matará al homicida; cuando lo encontrare, él le matará.

The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

20 Y si con odio lo empujó, o echó sobre él alguna cosa por asechanzas, y muere;

But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;

21 o por enemistad lo hirió con su mano, y murió; el heridor morirá; es homicida; el pariente del muerto matará al homicida, cuando lo encontrare.

Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote [him] shall surely be put to death; [for] he [is] a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.

22 Mas si casualmente lo empujó sin enemistades, o echó sobre él cualquier instrumento sin asechanzas,

But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,

23 o bien, sin verlo, hizo caer sobre él alguna piedra, de que pudo morir, y muriere, y él no era su enemigo, ni procuraba su mal;

Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing [him] not, and cast [it] upon him, that he die, and [was] not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

24 entonces la congregación juzgará entre el heridor y el pariente del muerto conforme a estas leyes.

Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:

25 Y la congregación librará al homicida de mano del pariente del muerto, y la congregación lo hará volver a su ciudad de acogimiento, a la cual se había acogido; y morará en ella hasta que muera el sumo sacerdote, el cual fue ungido con el aceite santo.

And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

26 Y si el homicida saliere fuera del término de su ciudad de refugio, a la cual se acogió,

But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;

27 y el pariente del muerto le hallare fuera del término de la ciudad de su acogida, y el pariente del muerto matare al homicida, no se le culpará a él por su sangre.

And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:

28 Pues en su ciudad de acogimiento habitará hasta que muera el sumo sacerdote; y después que muriere el sumo sacerdote, el homicida volverá a la tierra de su posesión.

Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

29 Y estas cosas os serán por ordenanza de derecho por vuestras edades, en todas vuestras habitaciones.

So these [things] shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

30 Cualquiera que hiriere a alguno, por dicho de testigos, morirá el homicida; mas un solo testigo no hablará contra alguna persona para que muera.

Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person [to cause him] to die.

31 Y no tomaréis precio por la vida del homicida; porque está condenado a muerte; mas indefectiblemente morirá.

Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which [is] guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

32 Ni tampoco tomaréis precio del que huyó a su ciudad de acogimiento, para que vuelva a vivir en su tierra, hasta que muera el sacerdote.

And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

33 Y no contaminaréis la tierra donde estuviereis; porque esta sangre contaminará la tierra; y la tierra no será expiada de la sangre que fue derramada en ella, sino por la sangre del que la derramó.

So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye [are: ] for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

34 No contaminéis, pues, la tierra donde habitáis, en medio de la cual yo habito; porque yo el SEÑOR habito en medio de los hijos de Israel.

Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.
