Job 12
1 Y respondió Job, y dijo:
Then Job answered and said,
2 Ciertamente que vosotros sois el pueblo; y con vosotros morirá la sabiduría.
No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
3 También tengo yo seso como vosotros; no soy yo menos que vosotros; ¿y quién habrá que no pueda decir otro tanto?
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who does not know such things as these?
4 El que invoca a Dios, y él le responde, es burlado de su amigo; y el justo y perfecto es escarnecido.
I am as a man who is a laughing-stock to his neighbor. I who called upon God, and he answered. The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.
5 La antorcha es tenida en poco en el pensamiento del próspero; la cual se aparejó contra las caídas de los pies.
In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for calamity. It is ready for those whose foot slips.
6 Las tiendas de los ladrones están en paz; y los que provocan a Dios, y los que traen dioses en sus manos viven seguros.
The tents of robbers prosper, and those who provoke God are secure. Into whose hand God brings abundantly.
7 Y en efecto, pregunta ahora a las bestias, que ellas te enseñarán; y a las aves de los cielos, que ellas te lo mostrarán;
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee, and the birds of the heavens, and they shall tell thee.
8 o habla a la tierra, que ella te enseñará; los peces del mar te lo declararán también.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee, and the fishes of the sea shall declare to thee.
9 ¿Qué cosa de todas éstas no entiende que la mano del SEÑOR la hizo?
Who does not know in all these, that the hand of Jehovah has wrought this,
10 En su mano está el alma de todo viviente, y el espíritu de toda carne humana.
in whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?
11 Ciertamente el oído prueba las palabras, y el paladar gusta las viandas.
Does not the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?
12 En los viejos está la ciencia, y en la larga edad la inteligencia.
With aged men is wisdom, and in length of days understanding.
13 Con Dios está la sabiduría y la fortaleza; suyo es el consejo y la inteligencia.
With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.
14 He aquí, él derribará, y no será edificado; encerrará al hombre, y no habrá quien le abra.
Behold, he breaks down, and it cannot be built again. He shuts up a man, and there can be no opening.
15 He aquí, él detendrá las aguas, y se secarán; él las enviará, y destruirán la tierra.
Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.
16 Con él está la fortaleza y la existencia; suyo es el que yerra, y el que hace errar.
With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his.
17 El hace andar a los consejeros desnudos de consejo, y hace enloquecer a los jueces.
He leads counselors away stripped, and he makes judges fools.
18 El suelta la atadura de los tiranos, y les ata el cinto a sus lomos.
He loosens the bond of kings, and he binds their loins with a belt.
19 El lleva despojados a los príncipes, y trastorna a los valientes.
He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.
20 El impide el labio a los que dicen verdad, y quita a los ancianos el consejo.
He removes the speech of the trustworthy, and takes away the understanding of the elders.
21 El derrama menosprecio sobre los príncipes, y enflaquece la fuerza de los esforzados.
He pours contempt upon rulers, and weakens the strength of the strong.
22 El descubre las profundidades de las tinieblas, y saca a luz la sombra de muerte.
He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death.
23 El multiplica los gentiles, y él las destruye; esparce los gentiles, y las torna a recoger.
He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive.
24 El quita el seso de las cabezas del pueblo de la tierra, y les hace que se pierdan vagando sin camino;
He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
25 que palpen las tinieblas, y no la luz; y los hace errar como borrachos.
They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them to stagger like a drunken man.
