Jeremías 25
1 Palabra que vino a Jeremías acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá en el año cuarto de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual es el año primero de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia;
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
2 lo que habló Jeremías profeta a todo el pueblo de Judá, y a todos los moradores de Jerusalén, diciendo:
which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
3 Desde el año trece de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, que son veintitrés años, vino a mí palabra del SEÑOR, la cual hablé a vosotros, madrugando y dando aviso; mas no oísteis.
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, Yahweh’s word has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.
4 Y envió el SEÑOR a vosotros todos sus siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándoles; mas no oísteis, ni inclinasteis vuestro oído para escuchar,
Yahweh has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear),
5 cuando decían: Volveos ahora de vuestro mal camino y de la maldad de vuestras obras, y morad sobre la tierra que os dio el SEÑOR, a vosotros y a vuestros padres para siempre;
saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.
6 y no caminéis en pos de dioses ajenos, sirviéndoles y encorvándoos a ellos, ni me provoquéis a ira con la obra de vuestras manos; y no os haré mal.
Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”
7 Pero no me oístes, dijo el SEÑOR, provocándome a ira con la obra de vuestras manos para mal vuestro.
“Yet you have not listened to me,” says Yahweh, “that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”
8 Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Por cuanto no oísteis mis palabras,
Therefore Yahweh of Armies says: “Because you have not heard my words,
9 he aquí enviaré yo, y tomaré todos los linajes del aquilón, dice el SEÑOR, y a Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y los traeré contra esta tierra, y contra sus moradores, y contra todas estas naciones en derredor; y los mataré, y los pondré por escarnio, y por silbo, y en soledades perpetuas.
behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,” says Yahweh, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 Y haré perder de entre ellos voz de gozo y voz de alegría, voz de desposado y voz de desposada, voz de muelas, y luz de candil.
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11 Y toda esta tierra será puesta en soledad, en espanto; y servirán estos gentiles al rey de Babilonia setenta años.
This whole land will be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 Y será que, cuando fueren cumplidos los setenta años, visitaré sobre el rey de Babilonia y sobre aquella gente su maldad, dijo el SEÑOR, y sobre la tierra de los caldeos; y yo la pondré en desiertos para siempre.
“It will happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,” says Yahweh, “for their iniquity. I will make the land of the Chaldeans desolate forever.
13 Y traeré sobre aquella tierra todas mis palabras que he hablado contra ella, con todo lo que está escrito en este libro, profetizado por Jeremías contra todos los gentiles.
I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14 Porque se servirán también de ellos muchas naciones, y reyes grandes; y yo les pagaré conforme a sus hechos, y conforme a la obra de sus manos.
For many nations and great kings will make bondservants of them, even of them. I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.”
15 Porque así me dijo el SEÑOR Dios de Israel: Toma de mi mano el vaso del vino de este furor, y da a beber de él a todos los gentiles a los cuales yo te envío.
For Yahweh, the God of Israel, says to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.
16 Y beberán, y temblarán, y enloquecerán delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre ellos.
They will drink, and reel back and forth, and be insane, because of the sword that I will send among them.”
17 Y tomé el vaso de la mano del SEÑOR, y di de beber a todos los gentiles a los cuales me envió el SEÑOR:
Then I took the cup at Yahweh’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom Yahweh had sent me:
18 A Jerusalén, y a las ciudades de Judá, y a sus reyes, y a sus príncipes, para que yo los pusiese en soledad, en escarnio, y en silbo, y en maldición, como este día;
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, with its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is today;
19 a Faraón rey de Egipto, y a sus siervos, a sus príncipes, y a todo su pueblo;
Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants, his princes, and all his people;
20 y a toda la mezcla de gente, y a todos los reyes de tierra de Uz, y a todos los reyes de la tierra de Palestina, y a Ascalón, y a Gaza, y a Ecrón, y al residuo de Asdod;
and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
21 a Edom, y a Moab, y a los hijos de Amón;
Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon;
22 y a todos los reyes de Tiro, y a todos los reyes de Sidón, y a todos los reyes de las islas que están de ese lado del mar;
and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
23 y a Dedán, y a Tema, y a Buz, y a todos los que están al cabo del mundo;
Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;
24 y a todos los reyes de Arabia, y a todos los reyes de pueblos, la Arabia que habita en el desierto;
and all the kings of Arabia, all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness;
25 y a todos los reyes de Zimri, y a todos los reyes de Elam, y a todos los reyes de Media;
and all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
26 y a todos los reyes del aquilón, los de cerca y los de lejos, los unos con los otros; y a todos los reinos de la tierra que están sobre la faz de la tierra, y el rey de Sesac ( Babilonia ) beberá después de ellos.
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth. The king of Sheshach will drink after them.
27 Les dirás, pues: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Bebed, y embriagaos, y vomitad, y caed, y no os levantéis delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre vosotros.
“You shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’
28 Y será que, si no quisieren tomar el vaso de tu mano para beber, les dirás tú: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Habéis de beber.
It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies says: “You shall surely drink.
29 Porque he aquí, que a la ciudad sobre la cual es llamado mi nombre yo comienzo a hacer mal; ¿y solamente vosotros seréis absueltos? No seréis absueltos, porque espada traigo sobre todos los moradores de la tierra, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.
For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You will not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says Yahweh of Armies.”’
30 Tú, pues, profetizarás a ellos todas estas palabras, y les dirás: El SEÑOR bramará como león desde lo alto, y desde la morada de su Santidad dará su voz; enfurecido bramará sobre su morada; canción de lagareros cantará contra todos los moradores de la tierra.
“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them, “‘Yahweh will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 Llegó el estruendo hasta el cabo de la tierra; porque es juicio del SEÑOR con los gentiles: él es el Juez de toda carne; entregará los impíos a cuchillo, dijo el SEÑOR.
A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says Yahweh.”
32 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: He aquí que el mal sale de gente en gente, y grande tempestad se levantará de los fines de la tierra.
Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”
33 Y serán muertos del SEÑOR en aquel día desde un cabo de la tierra hasta el otro cabo; no se endecharán, ni se recogerán, ni serán enterrados; como estiércol serán sobre la faz de la tierra.
The slain of Yahweh will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.
34 Aullad, pastores, y clamad; y revolcaos en el polvo, mayorales del rebaño; porque cumplidos son vuestros días para ser vosotros degollados y esparcidos, y caeréis como vaso de codicia.
Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.
35 Y no habrá huida para los pastores, ni escape para los mayorales del rebaño.
The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.
36 ¡Voz del grito de los pastores, y aullido de los mayorales del hato se oirá! Porque el SEÑOR asoló sus majadas.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for Yahweh destroys their pasture.
37 Y las majadas quietas serán taladas por la ira del furor del SEÑOR.
The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.
38 Desamparó como leoncillo su morada; porque la tierra de ellos fue asolada por la ira del opresor, y por el enojo de su furor.
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
