2 Crónicas 28

1 De veinte años era Acaz cuando comenzó a reinar, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalén; mas no hizo lo recto en ojos del SEÑOR, como David su padre.

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, like David his father;

2 Antes anduvo en los caminos de los reyes de Israel, y además hizo imágenes de fundición a los Baales.

but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for the Baalim.

3 Quemó también incienso en el valle de los hijos de Hinom, y quemó sus hijos por fuego, conforme a las abominaciones de los gentiles que el SEÑOR había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.

Moreover he offered in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

4 Asimismo sacrificó y quemó incienso en los altos, y en los collados, y debajo de todo árbol espeso.

And he sacrificed and offered in the high places, and on the hills, and under every leafy tree.

5 Por lo cual el SEÑOR su Dios lo entregó en manos del rey de los sirios, los cuales le derrotaron, y cogieron de él una grande presa, que llevaron a Damasco. Fue también entregado en manos del rey de Israel, el cual lo hirió con gran mortandad.

Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Aram; and they smote him, and carried away of his a great multitude of captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.

6 Porque Peca, hijo de Remalías mató en Judá en un día ciento veinte mil, todos hombres valientes; por cuanto habían dejado al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres.

For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.

7 Asimismo Zicri, hombre poderoso de Efraín, mató a Maasías hijo del rey, y a Azricam su mayordomo, y a Elcana, segundo después del rey.

And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the ruler of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.

8 Tomaron también cautivos los hijos de Israel de sus hermanos doscientos mil, mujeres, muchachos, y muchachas, a más de haber saqueado de ellos un gran despojo, el cual trajeron a Samaria.

And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.

9 Había entonces allí un profeta del SEÑOR, que se llamaba Obed, el cual salió delante del ejército cuando entraba en Samaria, y les dijo: He aquí el SEÑOR Dios de vuestros padres, por el enojo contra Judá, los ha entregado en vuestras manos; y vosotros los habéis muerto con ira. Hasta el cielo ha llegado ésto.

But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them: 'Behold, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was wroth with Judah, He hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage which hath reached up unto heaven.

10 Y ahora habéis determinado sujetar a vosotros a Judá y a Jerusalén por siervos y siervas; mas ¿no habéis vosotros pecado contra el SEÑOR vuestro Dios?

And now ye purpose to bring the children of Judah and Jerusalem into subjection for bondmen and bondwomen unto you; but are there not even with you acts of guilt of your own against the LORD your God?

11 Oídme, pues, ahora, y volved a enviar los cautivos que habéis tomado de vuestros hermanos; porque el SEÑOR está airado contra vosotros.

Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that ye have taken captive of your brethren; for the fierce wrath of the LORD is upon you.'

12 Entonces se levantaron algunos varones de los principales de los hijos de Efraín, Azarías hijo de Johanán, y Berequías hijo de Mesilemot, y Ezequías hijo de Salum, y Amasa hijo de Hadlai, contra los que venían de la guerra.

Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Jehohanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war,

13 Y les dijeron: No metáis acá la cautividad; porque el pecado contra el SEÑOR será sobre nosotros. Vosotros tratáis de añadir sobre nuestros pecados y sobre nuestras culpas, siendo asaz grande nuestro delito, y la ira del furor sobre Israel.

and said unto them: 'Ye shall not bring in the captives hither; for ye purpose that which will bring upon us guilt against the LORD, to add unto our sins and to our guilt; for our guilt is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.'

14 Entonces el ejército dejó los cautivos y la presa delante de los príncipes y de toda la multitud.

So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation.

15 Y se levantaron los varones nombrados, y tomaron los cautivos, y vistieron del despojo a los que de ellos estaban desnudos; los vistieron y los calzaron, y les dieron de comer y de beber, y los ungieron, y condujeron en asnos a todos los flacos, y los llevaron hasta Jericó, la ciudad de las palmas, cerca de sus hermanos; y ellos se volvieron a Samaria.

And the men that have been mentioned by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm-trees, unto their brethren; then they returned to Samaria.

16 En aquel tiempo envió a pedir el rey Acaz a los reyes de Asiria que le ayudasen.

At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him.

17 Porque a más de esto, los idumeos habían venido y herido a los de Judá, y habían llevado cautivos.

For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.

18 Asimismo los filisteos se habían derramado por las ciudades de la llanura, y al mediodía de Judá, y habían tomado a Bet-semes, a Ajalón, Gederot, y Soco con sus aldeas, Timna también con sus aldeas, y Gimzo con sus aldeas; y habitaban en ellas.

The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the Lowland, and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Soco with the towns thereof, and Timnah with the towns thereof, Gimzo also and the towns thereof; and they dwelt there.

19 Porque el SEÑOR había humillado a Judá por causa de Acaz rey de Israel; por cuanto él había desnudado a Judá, y había rebelado gravemente contra el SEÑOR.

For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he had cast away restraint in Judah, and acted treacherously against the LORD.

20 Y vino contra él Tilgat-pileser, rey de los Asirios; pues lo redujo a estrechez, y no lo fortificó.

And Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.

21 Aunque despojó Acaz la Casa del SEÑOR, y la casa real, y las de los príncipes, para dar al rey de los asirios, con todo eso él no le ayudó.

For Ahaz stripped the house of the LORD, and the house of the king and the princes, and gave thereof unto the king of Assyria; but it helped him not.

22 Además el rey Acaz en el tiempo que aquél le apuraba, añadió prevaricación contra el SEÑOR;

And in the time of his distress did he act even more treacherously against the LORD, this same king Ahaz.

23 porque sacrificó a los dioses de Damasco que le habían herido, y dijo: Pues que los dioses de los reyes de Siria les ayudan, yo también sacrificaré a ellos para que me ayuden; habiendo sido éstos su ruina, y la de todo Israel.

For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him; and he said: 'Because the gods of the kings of Aram helped them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me.' But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.

24 A más de eso recogió Acaz los vasos de la Casa de Dios, y los quebró, y cerró las puertas de la Casa del SEÑOR, y se hizo altares en Jerusalén en todos los rincones.

And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD; and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.

25 Hizo también altos en todas las ciudades de Judá, para quemar incienso a los dioses ajenos, provocando a ira al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres.

And in every city of Judah he made high places to offer unto other gods, and provoked the LORD, the God of his fathers.

26 Lo demás de sus hechos, y todos sus caminos, primeros y postreros, he aquí ello está escrito en el libro de los reyes de Judá y de Israel.

Now the rest of his acts, and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

27 Y durmió Acaz con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de Jerusalén; mas no le metieron en los sepulcros de los reyes de Israel; y reinó en su lugar Ezequías su hijo.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem; for they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
