Filipenses 2

1 POR tanto, si [hay en vosotros] alguna consolacion en Cristo; si algun refrigerio de amor; si alguna comunion del Espíritu; si algunas entrañas y misericordias;

If, therefore, there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort arising from love, if any participation of the Spirit, if any affections and mercies,

2 Cumplid mi gozo; que sintais lo mismo, teniendo el mismo amor, unánimes, sintiendo una misma cosa.

fulfill my joy, that you be of the same mind, having the same love, of one soul, of one mind;

3 Nada [hagais] por contienda ó por vana gloria; ántes bien en humildad estimándoos inferiores los unos á los otros:

doing nothing in strife and vain glory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

4 No mirando cada uno á lo suyo propio, sino cada cual tambien á lo de los otros.

Consider not each one his own gifts, but each one also the gifts of others.

5 Haya pues en vosotros este sentir que [hubo] tambien en Cristo Jesus;

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,

6 El cual, siendo en forma de Dios, no tuvo por usurpacion ser igual á Dios:

who, being in the form of God, did not think it an act of robbery to be equal with God;

7 Sin embargo se anonadó á sí mismo, tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante á los hombres;

but he divested himself by taking the form of a servant, and being made in the likeness of men:

8 Y hallado en la condicion como hombre, se humilló á sí mismo, hecho obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.

and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient even to death, the death, indeed, of the cross.

9 Por lo cual Dios tambien le ensalzó á lo sumo, y dióle un nombre que es sobre todo nombre;

For which reason God has highly exalted him, and, also, bestowed on him a name that is above every name;

10 Para que en el nombre de Jesus se doble toda rodilla de los [que están] en los cielos, y de los [que] en la tierra, y de los [que] debajo de la tierra;

that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those who are in heaven, and those who are on earth, and those who are under the earth;

11 Y toda lengua confiese que Jesu-Cristo es el Señor, á la gloria de Dios Padre.

and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

12 Por tanto, amados mios, como siempre habeis obedecido, no como en mi presencia solamente, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia, ocupáos en vuestra salvacion con temor y temblor.

So, then, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

13 Porque Dios es el que en vosotros obra así el querer como el hacer por su buena voluntad.

for it is God, who, of his good pleasure, works in you both the will and the power to perform.

14 Haced todo sin murmuraciones y contiendas,

Do all things without murmurings and disputings,

15 Para que seais irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios, sin culpa, en medio de la nacion maligna y perversa, entre los cuales resplandeceis como luminares en el mundo;

that you may be without reproach and Harmless, the children of God, without blame, in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world,

16 Reteniendo la palabra de vida, para que yo pueda gloriarme en el dia de Cristo, que no he corrido en vano ni trabajado en vano.

holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain, nor labor in vain.

17 Y aun si soy derramado [en libacion] sobre el sacrificio y servicio de vuestra fé, me gozo y congratulo por todos vosotros.

But if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.

18 Y asimismo gozáos tambien vosotros, y regocijáos conmigo.

In like manner do you also rejoice, and rejoice with me.

19 Mas espero en el Señor Jesus enviaros presto á Timotéo, para que yo tambien esté de buen ánimo, entendido vuestro estado.

But I trust in the Lord Jesus, to send Timothy shortly to you, that I also may be refreshed by knowing your condition;

20 Porque á ninguno tengo tan unánime, y que con sincera aficion esté solícito por vosotros.

for I have no one of a kindred spirit who will sincerely care for your condition:

21 Porque todos buscan lo suyo propio, no lo que es de Cristo Jesus.

for all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

22 Pero la experiencia de él habeis conocido, que como hijo á padre ha servido conmigo en el Evangelio.

But you know his approved character, that as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel.

23 Así que á este espero enviaros, luego que yo viere como van mis negocios.

Him, therefore, I hope to send immediately, as soon as I know how it may go with me.

24 Y confio en el Señor que yo tambien iré presto [á vosotros.]

But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.

25 Mas tuve por cosa necesaria enviaros á Epafrodito, mi hermano, y colaborador y compañero de milicia, y vuestro mensajero, y ministrador de mis necesidades.

Yet I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus my brother and companion in labor and fellow-soldier, but your apostle, who also ministered to my want,

26 Porque tenia gran deseo de [ver á] todos vosotros; y gravemente se angustió porque habiais oido que habia enfermado.

because he longed after you all, and was much distressed, because you had heard that he was sick.

27 Pues en verdad estuvo enfermo, á la muerte: mas Dios tuvo misericordia de él; y no solamente de él, sino aun de mí, para que yo no tuviese tristeza sobre tristeza.

And, indeed, he was sick near to death; but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.

28 Así que le envio más presto, para que viéndole os volvais á gozar, y yo esté con ménos tristeza.

I sent him, therefore, the sooner, that, by seeing him again, you might rejoice, and that I might be the less sorrowful.

29 Recibidle pues en el Señor con todo gozo; y tened en estima á los tales:

Receive him, therefore, in the Lord with all joy, and regard such as worthy of honor;

30 Porque por la obra de Cristo estuvo cercano á la muerte, poniendo su vida para suplir vuestra falta en mi servicio.

because for the work of the Christ he was near to death, not regarding his life, that he might supply that which was lacking in your service to me.
