1 Corintios 1

1 PABLO, llamado [á ser] apóstol de Jesu-Cristo por la voluntad de Dios, y Sostenes el hermano,

Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

2 A la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, santificados en Cristo Jesus, llamados santos, y á todos los que invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo en cualquier lugar, [Señor] de ellos y nuestro:

to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

3 Gracia y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesu-Cristo.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Gracias doy á mi Dios siempre por vosotros, por la gracia de Dios que os es dada en Cristo Jesus;

I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;

5 Que en todas las cosas sois enriquecidos en él, en toda lengua y en toda ciencia;

that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;

6 Así como el testimonio de Cristo ha sido confirmado en vosotros:

even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

7 De tal manera que nada os falte en ningun don, esperando la manifestacion de nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo:

so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed;

8 El cual tambien os confirmará hasta el fin, [para que seais] sin falta en el dia de nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo:

who will also strengthen you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Fiel [es] Dios, por el cual sois llamados á la participacion de su Hijo Jesu-Cristo nuestro Señor.

God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

10 Os ruego, pues, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo, que hableis todos una misma cosa, y que no haya entre vosotros disensiones, ántes seais perfectamente unidos en una misma mente, y en un mismo parecer.

Now I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement, so that there may be no divisions among you, and to be united by the same mind and conviction.

11 Porque me ha sido declarado de vosotros, hermanos mios, por los [que son] de Cloé, que hay entre vosotros contiendas;

For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.

12 Quiero decir, que cada uno de vosotros dice: Yo cierto soy de Pablo; pues yo de Apólos; y yo de Céfas; y yo de Cristo.

Now I mean this, that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," "I follow Apollos," "I follow Cephas," and, "I follow Christ."

13 ¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Fué crucificado Pablo por vosotros? ó habeis sido bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?

Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

14 Doy gracias á [mi] Dios, que á ninguno de vosotros he bautizado, sino á Crispo y á Gayo;

I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,

15 Para que ninguno diga que habeis sido bautizados en mi nombre.

so that no one should say that you had been baptized into my own name.

16 Y tambien bauticé la familia de Estéfanas: mas no sé si he bautizado á algun otro.

(Now I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other.)

17 Porque no me envió Cristo á bautizar; sino á predicar el Evangelio: no en sabiduría de palabras, porque no sea hecha vana la cruz de Cristo.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of the Christ would not be made void.

18 Porque la palabra de la cruz es locura á los que se pierden; mas á los que se salvan, [es á saber, ] á nosotros, es potencia de Dios.

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19 Porque está escrito: Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios, y desecharé la inteligencia de los entendidos.

For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will nullify."

20 ¿Qué es del sabio? ¿Qué del escriba? ¿Qué del escudriñador de este siglo? ¿No ha enloquecido Dios la sabiduría del mundo? (aiōn g165)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn't God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)

21 Porque por no haber el mundo conocido en la sabiduría de Dios á Dios por sabiduría, agradó á Dios salvar los creyentes por la locura de la predicacion.

For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.

22 Porque los Judíos piden señales, y los Griegos buscan sabiduría:

For Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom,

23 Mas nosotros predicamos á Cristo crucificado, [que es] á los Judíos ciertamente tropezadero, y á los Gentiles locura:

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to the non-Jews,

24 Empero á los llamados, así Judíos como Griegos, Cristo potencia de Dios, y sabiduría de Dios.

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 Porque lo loco de Dios es mas sabio que los hombres; y lo flaco de Dios es mas fuerte que los hombres.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than man's, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's.

26 Porque mirad, hermanos, vuestra vocacion, que no sois muchos sabios segun la carne, no muchos poderosos, no muchos nobles:

For consider your calling, brothers, that not many were wise from a human perspective, not many mighty, not many of noble birth.

27 Antes lo necio del mundo escogió Dios, para avergonzar á los sabios; y lo flaco del mundo escogió Dios, para avergonzar lo fuerte;

But God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise. And God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong.

28 Y lo vil del mundo, y lo menospreciado escogió Dios; [y] lo que no es, para deshacer lo que es:

And God chose the lowly of the world, and the despised, what is considered to be nothing, to bring to nothing what is considered to be something,

29 Para que ninguna carne se jacte en su presencia.

that no flesh might boast before God.

30 Mas de él sois vosotros en Cristo Jesus, el cual nos ha sido hecho por Dios sabiduría, y justificacion, y santificacion, y redencion:

And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

31 Para que, como está escrito: El que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.

so that, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."
