Salmos 74

1 ¿Por qué o! Dios, nos has desechado para siempre? ¿ por qué ha humeado tu furor contra las ovejas de tu dehesa?

An Instruction of Asaph. Why, O God, hast Thou cast off for ever? Thine anger smoketh against the flock of Thy pasture.

2 Acuérdate de tu congregación, que adquiriste de tiempo antiguo: cuando redimiste la vara de tu heredad, este monte de Sión, donde has habitado.

Remember Thy company. Thou didst purchase of old, Thou didst redeem the rod of Thy inheritance, This mount Zion — Thou didst dwell in it.

3 Levanta tus pies a los asolamientos eternos: a todo enemigo que ha hecho mal en el santuario.

Lift up Thy steps to the perpetual desolations, Everything the enemy did wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 Tus enemigos han bramado en medio de tus sinagogas: han puesto en ellas sus señas, señas.

Roared have thine adversaries, In the midst of Thy meeting-places, They have set their ensigns as ensigns.

5 Nombrado era, como si lo llevara al cielo, el que metía las hachas en el monte de la madera para el edificio del santuario.

He is known as one bringing in on high Against a thicket of wood — axes.

6 Y ahora con hachas y martillos han quebrado todas sus entalladuras.

And now, its carvings together With axe and hatchet they break down,

7 Han puesto a fuego tus santuarios, el tabernáculo de tu nombre han ensuciado en tierra.

They have sent into fire Thy sanctuary, to the earth they polluted the tabernacle of Thy name,

8 Dijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos de una vez: quemaron todas las sinagogas de Dios en la tierra.

They said in their hearts, 'Let us oppress them together,' They did burn all the meeting-places of God in the land.

9 No vemos ya nuestras señales: no hay más profeta, ni hay con nosotros quien sepa: ¿hasta cuándo?

Our ensigns we have not seen, There is no more a prophet, Nor with us is one knowing how long.

10 ¿Hasta cuándo, o! Dios, nos afrentará el angustiador? ¿blasfemará el enemigo perpetuamente tu nombre?

Till when, O God, doth an adversary reproach? Doth an enemy despise thy name for ever?

11 ¿Por qué retráes tu mano, y tu diestra la escondes dentro de tu seno?

Why dost Thou turn back Thy hand, Even Thy right hand? From the midst of Thy bosom remove [it].

12 Y Dios ha sido mi rey de tiempo antiguo: el que obraba saludes en medio de la tierra.

And God [is] my king of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 Tú hendiste la mar con tu fortaleza: quebrantaste cabezas de ballenas en las aguas.

Thou hast broken by Thy strength a sea -[monster], Thou hast shivered Heads of dragons by the waters,

14 Tú magullaste las cabezas del leviatán: le diste por comida al pueblo de los desiertos.

Thou hast broken the heads of leviathan, Thou makest him food, For the people of the dry places.

15 Tú abriste fuente y río: tú secaste ríos impetuosos.

Thou hast cleaved a fountain and a stream, Thou hast dried up perennial flowings.

16 Tuyo es el día, tuya también es la noche: tú aparejaste la lumbre y el sol.

Thine [is] the day, also Thine [is] the night, Thou hast prepared a light giver — the sun.

17 Tú estableciste todos los términos de la tierra: el verano y el invierno tú los formaste.

Thou hast set up all the borders of earth, Summer and winter Thou hast formed them.

18 Acuérdate de esto, que el enemigo ha dicho afrentas a Jehová: y que el pueblo insensato ha blasfemado tu nombre.

Remember this — an enemy reproached Jehovah, And a foolish people have despised Thy name.

19 No entregues a las bestias el alma de tu tórtola: y no olvides para siempre la compañía de tus afligidos.

Give not up to a company, The soul of Thy turtle-dove, The company of Thy poor ones forget not for ever.

20 Mira al concierto: porque las oscuridades de la tierra se han henchido de habitaciones de violencia.

Look attentively to the covenant, For the dark places of earth, Have been full of habitations of violence.

21 No vuelva avergonzado el abatido: el afligido y el menesteroso alabarán tu nombre.

Let not the oppressed turn back ashamed, Let the poor and needy praise Thy name,

22 Levántate, o! Dios, pleitea tu pleito: acuérdate de tu injuria con que el insensato te injuria cada día.

Arise, O God, plead Thy plea, Remember Thy reproach from a fool all the day.

23 No olvides las voces de tus enemigos: el tropel de los que se levantan contra ti sube continuamente.

Forget not the voice of Thine adversaries, The noise of Thy withstanders is going up continually!
