San Mateo 26
1 Y aconteció que como hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo a sus discípulos:
When Yeshua had finished all these words, he said to his disciples,
2 Sabéis que dentro de dos días se hace la pascua; y el Hijo del hombre es entregado para ser crucificado.
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3 Entonces los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se juntaron en el palacio del sumo sacerdote, el cual se llamaba Caifás.
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.
4 Y tuvieron consejo para prender por engaño a Jesús, y matar le.
They took counsel together that they might take Yeshua by deceit and kill him.
5 Y decían: No en el día de la fiesta, porque no se haga alboroto en el pueblo.
But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur amongst the people.”
6 Y estando Jesús en Betania, en casa de Simón el leproso,
Now when Yeshua was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 Vino a él una mujer, con un vaso de alabastro de ungüento de gran precio, y lo derramó sobre la cabeza de él, estando sentado a la mesa:
a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.
8 Lo cual viendo sus discípulos, se enojaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué se pierde esto?
But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?
9 Porque este ungüento se podía vender por gran precio, y darse a los pobres.
For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”
10 Y entendiéndo lo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué dais pena a esta mujer? porque ha hecho buena obra para conmigo.
However, knowing this, Yeshua said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has done a good work for me.
11 Porque siempre tenéis pobres con vosotros; mas a mí no siempre me tenéis.
For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.
12 Porque echando este ungüento sobre mi cuerpo, para sepultarme lo ha hecho.
For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
13 De cierto os digo, que donde quiera que este evangelio fuere predicado en todo el mundo, también será dicho para memoria de ella lo que esta ha hecho.
Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”
14 Entonces uno de los doce, que se llamaba Júdas Iscariote, fue a los príncipes de los sacerdotes,
Then one of the twelve, who was called Judah Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15 Y les dijo: ¿Qué me queréis dar, y yo os le entregaré? Y ellos le señalaron treinta piezas de plata.
and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him to you?” So they weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Y desde entonces buscaba oportunidad para entregarle.
From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 Y el primer día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, vinieron los discípulos a Jesús, diciéndole: ¿Dónde quieres que te aderecemos para comer la pascua?
Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Yeshua, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
18 Y él dijo: Id a la ciudad a casa de tal hombre, y decídle: El Maestro dice: Mi tiempo está cerca: en tu casa haré la pascua con mis discípulos.
He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Rabbi says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.”’”
19 Y los discípulos hicieron como Jesús les mandó, y aderezaron la pascua.
The disciples did as Yeshua commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.
20 Y como fue la tarde del día, se sentó a la mesa con los doce.
Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.
21 Y comiendo ellos, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me ha de entregar.
As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
22 Y ellos entristecidos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos a decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor?
They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”
23 Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, éste me ha de entregar.
He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.
24 A la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, como está escrito de él; mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del hombre es entregado! bueno le fuera al tal hombre no haber nacido.
The Son of Man goes even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Entonces respondiendo Júdas, que le entregaba, dijo: ¿Soy yo quizá Maestro? Dícele: Tú lo has dicho.
Judah, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?” He said to him, “You said it.”
26 Y comiendo ellos, tomó Jesús el pan, y habiendo dado gracias lo rompió, y dio a sus discípulos, y dijo: Tomád, coméd: éste es mi cuerpo.
As they were eating, Yeshua took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
27 Y tomando la copa, y hechas gracias, dióles, diciendo: Bebéd de ella todos.
He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,
28 Porque esta es mi sangre del nuevo testamento, la cual es derramada por muchos para remisión de los pecados.
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
29 Y os digo, que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día, cuando lo tengo de beber nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre.
But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
30 Y cuando hubieron cantado un himno, salieron al monte de las Olivas.
When they had sung the Hallel, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 Entonces Jesús les dice: Todos vosotros seréis escandalizados en mí esta noche; porque escrito está: Heriré al pastor, y se descarriarán las ovejas de la manada.
Then Yeshua said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 Mas después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros a Galilea.
But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.”
33 Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Aunque todos sean escandalizados en ti, yo nunca seré escandalizado.
But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”
34 Jesús le dice: De cierto te digo, que esta noche, antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.
Yeshua said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”
35 Dícele Pedro: Aunque me sea menester morir contigo, no te negaré. Y todos los discípulos dijeron lo mismo.
Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.
36 Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos al huerto, que se llama Getsemaní, y dice a sus discípulos: Sentáos aquí, hasta que vaya allí, y ore.
Then Yeshua came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go there and pray.”
37 Y tomando a Pedro, y a los dos hijos de Zebedeo, comenzó a entristecerse, y a angustiarse en gran manera.
He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.
38 Entonces Jesús les dice: Mi alma está muy triste hasta la muerte: quedáos aquí, y velád conmigo.
Then Yeshua said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with me.”
39 Y yéndose un poco más adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando, y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí esta copa: empero no como yo quiero, mas como tú.
He went forward a little, fell on his face, and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.”
40 Y vino a sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo; y dijo a Pedro: ¡Qué! ¿No habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?
He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?
41 Velád y orád, para que no entréis en tentación: el espíritu a la verdad está presto, mas la carne enferma.
Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 Otra vez, fue segunda vez, y oró, diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede esta copa pasar de mí sin que yo la beba, hágase tu voluntad.
Again, a second time he went away and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cup can’t pass away from me unless I drink it, your desire be done.”
43 Y vino, y los halló otra vez durmiendo; porque los ojos de ellos eran agravados.
He came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44 Y dejándolos, fue otra vez, y oró tercera vez, diciendo las mismas palabras.
He left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
45 Entonces vino a sus discípulos, y les dice: Dormíd ya, y descansád: he aquí, ha llegado la hora, y el Hijo del hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores.
Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Levantáos, vamos: he aquí, ha llegado el que me entrega.
Arise, let’s be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
47 Y hablando aun él, he aquí, Júdas, uno de los doce, vino, y con él una grande multitud, con espadas y palos, de parte de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los ancianos del pueblo.
While he was still speaking, behold, Judah, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Y el que le entregaba les había dado señal, diciendo: Al que yo besare, aquel es: tenédle bien.
Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, “Whoever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him.”
49 Y luego que llegó a Jesús, dijo: Tengas gozo, Maestro. Y le besó.
Immediately he came to Yeshua, and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him.
50 Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Amigo, a qué vienes? Entonces llegaron, y echaron mano a Jesús, y le prendieron.
Yeshua said to him, “Friend, why are you here?” Then they came and laid hands on Yeshua, and took him.
51 Y, he aquí, uno de los que estaban con Jesús, extendiendo la mano, sacó su espada, e hiriendo a un siervo del sumo sacerdote, le quitó una oreja.
Behold, one of those who were with Yeshua stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
52 Entonces Jesús le dice: Vuelve tu espada a su lugar; porque todos los que tomaren espada, a espada perecerán.
Then Yeshua said to him, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword.
53 O ¿piensas que no puedo ahora orar a mi Padre, y él me daría más de doce legiones de ángeles?
Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Mas ¿cómo se cumplirían entonces las Escrituras, de que así es menester que sea hecho?
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that it must be so?”
55 En aquella hora dijo Jesús a la multitud: Como a ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con palos a prenderme: cada día me sentaba con vosotros enseñando en el templo, y no me prendisteis.
In that hour Yeshua said to the multitudes, “Have you come out as against a robber with swords and clubs to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and you didn’t arrest me.
56 Mas todo esto se hace, para que se cumplan las Escrituras de los profetas. Entonces todos los discípulos huyeron, dejándole.
But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
57 Y ellos, prendido Jesús, le trajeron a Caifás sumo sacerdote, donde los escribas y los ancianos estaban juntos.
Those who had taken Yeshua led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.
58 Mas Pedro le seguía de lejos hasta el patio del sumo sacerdote; y entrado dentro, se estaba sentado con los criados, para ver el fin.
But Peter followed him from a distance to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.
59 Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos, y todo el concilio buscaban algún falso testimonio contra Jesús, para entregarle a la muerte;
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Yeshua, that they might put him to death,
60 Y no hallaban: y aunque muchos testigos falsos se llegaban, no lo hallaron. Mas a la postre vinieron dos testigos falsos,
and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward
61 Que dijeron: Este dijo: Puedo derribar el templo de Dios, y reedificarle en tres días.
and said, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”
62 Y levantándose el sumo sacerdote, le dijo: ¿No respondes nada? ¿Qué testifican estos contra ti?
The high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?”
63 Mas Jesús callaba. Y respondiendo el sumo sacerdote, le dijo: Te conjuro por el Dios viviente, que nos digas, si eres tú el Cristo, Hijo de Dios.
But Yeshua stayed silent. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”
64 Jesús le dice: Tú lo has dicho. Y aun os digo, que de aquí a poco habéis de ver al Hijo del hombre asentado a la diestra del poder de Dios, y viniendo sobre las nubes del cielo.
Yeshua said to him, “You have said so. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”
65 Entonces el sumo sacerdote rasgó sus vestiduras, diciendo: Blasfemado ha: ¿qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos? He aquí, ahora habéis oído su blasfemia.
Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
66 ¿Qué os parece? Y respondiendo ellos dijeron: Culpado es de muerte.
What do you think?” They answered, “He is worthy of death!”
67 Entonces le escupieron en su rostro, y le dieron de bofetadas, y otros le herían a puñadas,
Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,
68 Diciendo: Profetízanos, oh Cristo, quién es el que te ha herido.
saying, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you?”
69 Y Pedro estaba sentado fuera en el patio; y se llegó a él una criada, diciendo: Y tú con Jesús el Galileo estabas.
Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Yeshua, the Galilean!”
70 Mas él negó delante de todos, diciendo: No sé lo que dices.
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
71 Y saliendo a la puerta, le vio otra, y dijo a los que estaban allí: También éste estaba con Jesús Nazareno.
When he had gone out onto the porch, someone else saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Yeshua of Nazareth.”
72 Y negó otra vez con juramento, diciendo: No conozco a ese hombre.
Again he denied it with an oath, “I don’t know the man.”
73 Y después de un poco se allegaron los que por allí estaban, y dijeron a Pedro: Verdaderamente también tú eres uno de ellos; porque aun tu habla te hace manifiesto.
After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”
74 Entonces comenzó a echarse maldiciones, y a jurar, diciendo: No conozco a ese hombre. Y el gallo cantó luego.
Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.
75 Y se acordó Pedro de las palabras de Jesús, que le dijo: Antes que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces. Y saliéndose fuera, lloró amargamente.
Peter remembered the word which Yeshua had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” Then he went out and wept bitterly.
