Jeremías 48
1 De Moab: Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: ¡Ay de Nebo! que fue destruida, fue avergonzada: Cariataim fue tomada: fue confusa Misgab, y desmayó.
Of Moab, —Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel, —Alas for Nebo, for it is laid waste, put to shame—captured, is Kiriathaim, put to shame is Misgab, and dismayed.
2 No se alabará ya más Moab: de Jesebón pensaron mal: Veníd, y quitémosla de entre las naciones. También tú, Madmén, serás cortada, espada irá tras ti.
No more, is the praise of Moab, In Heshbon, have they devised against her, calamity, Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation, —Even thou, Madmen also, shalt be silenced, After thee, shall march the sword.
3 Voz de clamor de Oronaim: destrucción, y gran quebrantamiento.
A voice of outcry, from Horonaim, —Wasting and great destruction!
4 Moab fue quebrantada: hicieron que se oyese el clamor de sus pequeños.
Moab is broken: Her little ones, have caused to be heard an outcry.
5 Porque a la subida de Luit con lloro subirá el que llora; porque a la descendida de Oronaim los enemigos oyeron clamor de quebranto:
For the ascent of Luhith, with weeping, one ascendeth—with weeping, —For in the descent of Horonaim, the distress of the outcry of destruction, have they heard:
6 Huid, escapád vuestra vida, y sean como retama en el desierto.
Flee deliver your own lives, —Then shall the women be as a shrub in the desert.
7 Porque por cuanto confiaste en tus haciendas, y en tus tesoros, tú también serás tomada; y Camos saldrá en cautiverio, los sacerdotes, y sus príncipes juntamente.
For seeing thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, Thou too, shalt be captured, —Then shall Chemosh go forth into captivity, His priests and his princes together.
8 Y vendrá destruidor a cada una de las ciudades, y ninguna ciudad escapará; y perderse ha el valle, y destruirse ha la campiña, como dijo Jehová.
And the spoiler shall enter into every city, And not, a city, shall escape, Then shall perish the vale Then be destroyed the table-land, —As Yahweh hath said.
9 Dad alas a Moab, para que volando vuele; y sus ciudades serán desiertas hasta no quedar en ellas morador.
Give wing to Moab, For she must, fly away; And her cities To desolation, shall be turned, With no inhabitant therein.
10 Maldito el que hiciere engañosamente la obra de Jehová; y maldito el que detuviere su espada de la sangre.
Accursed be he that doeth the business of Yahweh carelessly; And, accursed be he that withholdeth his sword, from blood!
11 Quieto estuvo Moab desde su mocedad, y él ha estado reposado sobre sus heces, ni fue trasegado de vaso en vaso, ni nunca fue en cautividad: por tanto quedó su sabor en él, y su olor no se ha trocado.
Moab, hath been at ease from his youth, And settled is he upon his lees, And hath not been poured out from vessel to vessel, Nor into captivity, hath gone, —For this cause, hath his flavour stood still within him, And his scent is unchanged.
12 Por tanto, he aquí que vienen días, dijo Jehová, en que yo le enviaré trasportadores que le harán trasportar; y vaciarán sus vasos, y romperán sus odres.
Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, When I will send to him tilters and they shall tilt him, —And his vessels, shall they empty, And their jars, shall they dash in pieces.
13 Y Moab se avergonzará de Camos, de la manera que la casa de Israel se avergonzó de Bet-el su confianza.
Then shall Moab, be ashamed, of, Chemosh, —Just as, the sons of Israel, were ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
14 ¿Cómo diréis: Valientes somos, y robustos hombres para la guerra?
How can ye say, Heroes, are we? and Men of might for the war?
15 Destruido fue Moab, y sus ciudades asoló; y sus escogidos mancebos descendieron al degolladero, dijo el rey, Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre.
Spoiled is Moab And her cities, hath he ascended, And the choice of his young men, have gone down to the slaughter, —Declareth The King, Yahweh of hosts, is his Name.
16 Cercano está el quebrantamiento de Moab para venir; y su mal se apresura mucho.
Near is the doom of Moab, to come, —And, his calamity, hasteth greatly.
17 Compadecéos de él todos los que estáis al derredor de él: y todos los que sabéis su nombre, decíd: ¡Cómo se quebró la vara de fortaleza, el báculo de hermosura!
Lament ye for him—All that are round about him, and All that know his name, —Say, How is broken—The staff of strength! The rod of beauty!
18 Desciende de la gloria, siéntate en seco, moradora hija de Dibón; porque el destruidor de Moab subió contra ti, disipó tus fortalezas.
Come down from glory, and sit in thirst, O inhabitress daughter of Dibon; For the spoiler of Moab, hath come up against thee, He hath laid in ruins thy strongholds.
19 Párate en el camino, y mira, o! moradora de Aroer: pregunta a la que va huyendo, y a la que escapó; Díle: ¿Qué ha acontecido?
Near the way, take thy stand and keep outlook, O inhabitress of Aroer: Ask—him that fleeth, and Her that hath escaped, Say, What hath happened?
20 Avergonzóse Moab, porque fue quebrantado: aullád, y clamád: denunciád en Arnón que Moab es destruido,
Confounded is Moab! For it is broken down! Howl and make outcry, —Tell ye in Arnon, That Moab is spoiled;
21 Y que vino juicio sobre la tierra de la campiña; sobre Jelón, y sobre Jasa, y sobre Mefaat,
And, judgment, hath come Upon the country of the table-land, —Upon Holon, and Upon Jazer and Upon Mephaath;
22 Y sobre Dibón, y sobre Nebo, y sobre Bet-diblataim,
and Upon Dibon, and Upon Nebo, and Upon Beth-diblathaim;
23 Y sobre Cariataim, y sobre Bet-gamul, y sobre Bet-maón,
and Upon Kiriathaim, and Upon Beth-gamul, and Upon Beth-meon;
24 Y sobre Cariot, y sobre Bosra, y sobre todas las ciudades de tierra de Moab, las de lejos, y las de cerca.
and Upon Kerioth, and Upon Bozrah, —Yea, upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far and near.
25 Cortado es el cuerno de Moab, y su brazo quebrantado, dijo Jehová.
Cut off is the horn of Moab, Yea, his arm, is broken, —Declareth Yahweh.
26 Embriagádle, porque contra Jehová se engrandeció; y revuélquese Moab sobre su vómito, y sea por escarnio también él.
Make ye him drunken, Because against Yahweh, hath he magnified himself; So shall, Moab, stagger, into his own vomit, And shall become a derision, even he!
27 ¿Y no te fue a ti Israel por escarnio, como si le tomaran entre ladrones? porque desde que hablaste de él te has movido.
And was it not, a derision, that Israel became to thee? And was it not among thieves, he was found? For, as often as thou didst speak of him, thou didst wag the head!
28 Desamparád las ciudades, y habitád en peñascos, o! moradores de Moab; y sed como la paloma que hace nido detrás de la boca de la caverna.
Leave ye the cities and dwell in the cliff, Ye inhabitants of Moab; And become ye as a dove, that maketh her nest in the further-side of the fissure’s mouth.
29 Oído hemos la soberbia de Moab, que es muy soberbio: su hinchazón, y su soberbia, y su altivez, la altura de su corazón.
We have heard the arrogance of Moab—proud exceedingly: His loftiness and his arrogance and his majesty, and his elevation of heart!
30 Yo conozco, dice Jehová, su ira, y sin verdad, sus mentiras, no harán así.
I know—Declareth Yahweh His passion—that’tis Unjust! His boastings, that Untrue have they made [them]!
31 Por tanto yo aullaré sobre Moab, y sobre todo Moab haré clamor, y sobre los varones de Cireres gemiré.
For this cause over Moab, will I howl, And for all Moab, will I make outcry, —For the men of Kir-heres, must one moan!
32 Con lloro de Jazer lloraré por ti, o! vid de Sabama: tus ramos pasaron la mar, hasta la mar de Jazer llegaron: sobre tu agosto, y sobre tu vendimia vino destruidor.
Beyond the weeping of Jazer, will I weep for thee O vine of Sibmah, Thy tendrils, have gone over the sea, Unto the sea of Jazer, have they reached, Upon thy summer fruits And upon thy vintage, the spoiler, hath fallen.
33 Y será cortada la alegría, y el regocijo de los campos labrados, y de la tierra de Moab; y haré cesar el vino de los lagares, no pisarán con canción: la canción, no será canción.
So shall be withdrawn gladness and exultation—From the fruitful field and From the land of Moab, —And wine from the vats, have I caused to fail, They shall not tread with shouting, The shouting shall be no shouting!
34 El clamor, desde Jesebón hasta Eleale: hasta Jasa dieron su voz: desde Segor hasta Oronaim, becerra de tres años; porque también las aguas de Nimrim serán destruidas.
From the outcry of Heshbon, Even unto Elealeh Even unto Jahaz, have they given forth their voice, From Zoar even unto Horonaim, the third Eglath, —For, even the waters of Nimrim, to utter desolation, have been turned:
35 Y haré cesar de Moab, dice Jehová, quién sacrifique en altar, y quien ofrezca sahumerio a sus dioses.
Then will I cause to cease, from Moab, Declareth Yahweh, —him that offereth at a high-place, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
36 Por tanto mi corazón, por causa de Moab, resonará como flautas; y mi corazón, por causa de los varones de Cireres, resonará como flautas; porque las riquezas que hizo, perecieron.
For this cause, my heart, for Moab, like flutes, shall make plaintive sounds, Yea my heart for the men of Kir-heres! like flutes, shall make plaintive sounds, Because, the abundance he hath gotten is lost!
37 Porque en toda cabeza habrá calva, y toda barba será menoscabada; y sobre todas manos rasguños, y sacos sobre todos lomos.
For, every head, is baldness, And every beard, clipped: Upon all hands, are gashes, And upon the loins, sackcloth
38 Sobre todas las techumbres de Moab, y en sus calles, todo él será llanto; porque yo quebranté a Moab como a vaso que no agrada, dijo Jehová.
Upon all the housetops of Moab And in her broadways, it is all lamentation, —For I have broken Moab—Like a vessel wherein is no pleasure Declareth Yahweh.
39 ¡Cómo ha sido quebrantado! aullád: ¡cómo volvió la cerviz Moab, y fue avergonzado! Y fue Moab en escarnio, y en espanto a todos los que están en sus al derredores.
How it is broken down! They have howled, How hath Moab turned the back, for shame, —So shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all round about him.
40 Porque así dijo Jehová: He aquí que como águila volará, y extenderá sus alas a Moab.
For, thus, saith Yahweh, Lo! as an eagle, shall one dart along, —And shall spread out his wings towards Moab.
41 Tomadas son las ciudades, y tomadas son las fortalezas; y será aquel día el corazón de los valientes de Moab como el corazón de mujer en angustias.
Captured is Kerioth, And the fortresses, are seized, —Then shall the heart of the heroes of Moab become in that day, As the heart of a woman in her pains.
42 Y Moab será destruido para más no ser pueblo; porque se engrandeció contra Jehová.
Then shall, Moab, be destroyed from being a people, —Because against Yahweh, hath he magnified himself.
43 Miedo, y hoyo, y lazo sobre ti, o! morador de Moab, dijo Jehová.
Terror and pit and snare are upon thee O inhabitant of Moab Declareth Yahweh:
44 El que huyere del miedo, caerá en el hoyo; y el que saliere del hoyo, será preso del lazo; porque yo traeré sobre él, sobre Moab, el año de su visitación, dijo Jehová.
He that fleeth from the face of the terror, Shall fall into the pit, And, he that getteth up out of the pit, Shall be captured by the snare, —For I will bring against her—against Moab, The year of their visitation, Declareth Yahweh.
45 A la sombra de Jesebón se pararon los que huían de la fuerza; porque salió fuego de Jesebón, y llama de en medio de Sejón, y quemó el rincón de Moab, y la mollera de los hijos revoltosos.
In the shadow of Heshbon, stand strengthless, the fugitives, —For, a fire, hath gone forth out of Heshbon And shall flame out of the midst of Sihon, And shall devour the beard of Moab, And the crown of the head of the proudly tumultuous.
46 ¡Ay de ti, Moab! pereció el pueblo de Camos; porque tus hijos fueron presos en cautividad, y tus hijas en cautiverio.
Woe to thee Moab! Lost are the people of Chemosh, —For thy sons have been taken, into captivity, And thy daughters into captivity.
47 Y haré tornar el cautiverio de Moab en lo postrero de los tiempos, dijo Jehová. Hasta aquí es el juicio de Moab.
Yet will I bring back the captivity of Moab, In the afterpart of the days, Declareth Yahweh, Thus far, is the sentence of Moab.
