Génesis 25

1 Y Abraham tomó otra mujer, cuyo nombre fue Cetura:

And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.

2 La cual le parió a Zamram, y a Jecsán, y a Madán, y a Madián, y a Jesboc, y a Sue.

And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

3 Y Jecsán engendró a Saba, y a Dadán; e hijos de Dadán fueron Assurim, y Latussim, y Laomim.

And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and the Letushim, and the Leummim.

4 E hijos de Madián; Efa, y Efer, y Jenoc, y Abida, y Eldaa. Todos estos fueron hijos de Cetura.

And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.

5 Y Abraham dio todo lo que tenía a Isaac.

And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

6 Y a los hijos de sus concubinas dio Abraham dones: y envióles de junto a Isaac su hijo, mientras él vivió, al oriente, a la tierra oriental.

And to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and, while he yet lived, sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the east country.

7 Estos empero fueron los días de la vida de Abraham que vivió ciento y setenta y cinco años.

And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.

8 Y espiró y murió Abraham en buena vejez, viejo, y harto de días, y fue agregado a sus pueblos.

And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.

9 Y sepultáronle Isaac e Ismael sus hijos en la cueva doble, en la heredad de Efrón hijo de Seor Jetteo, que estaba en frente de Mamré:

And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre —

10 La heredad que compró Abraham de los hijos de Jet; allí está sepultado y Sara su mujer.

the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

11 Y fue, que después de muerto Abraham, bendijo Dios a Isaac su hijo: y habitó Isaac junto al pozo del Viviente que me ve.

And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer-lahai-roi.

12 Y estas son las generaciones de Ismael hijo de Abraham, que parió Agar Egipcia, sierva de Sara, a Abraham.

And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's bondwoman, bore to Abraham.

13 Estos pues son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael por sus nombres, por sus linajes. El primogénito de Ismael, Nabajot; y Cedar, y Adbeel, y Mabsam,

And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names according to their generations: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14 Y Masma, y Duma, y Massa,

and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

15 Hadar, y Tema, y Jetur, y Nafis, y Cedma:

Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedmah.

16 Estos son los hijos de Ismael; y estos son sus nombres por sus villas y por sus palacios; doce príncipes por sus familias.

These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their hamlets and their encampments — twelve princes of their peoples.

17 Y estos fueron los años de la vida de Ismael, ciento y treinta y siete años: y espiró y murió Ismael, y fue agregado a sus pueblos.

And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.

18 Y habitaron desde Hevila hasta el Sur, que está en frente de Egipto viniendo a Assur: delante de todos sus hermanos cayó.

And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite to Egypt, as one goes towards Assyria. He settled before the face of all his brethren.

19 Y estas fueron las generaciones de Isaac, hijo de Abraham: Abraham engendró a Isaac:

And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.

20 Y era Isaac de cuarenta años cuando tomó a Rebeca, hija de Batuel Arameo de Padan-aram, hermana de Labán Arameo, por su mujer.

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

21 Y oró Isaac a Jehová por su mujer que era estéril; y aceptólo Jehová, y concibió Rebeca su mujer.

And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.

22 Y los hijos se combatían dentro de ella, y dijo: Si así había de ser, ¿para qué vivo yo? Y fue a consultar a Jehová.

And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.

23 Y respondióle Jehová: Dos naciones hay en tu vientre, y dos pueblos serán divididos de tus entrañas; mas el un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro pueblo, y el mayor servirá al menor.

And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.

24 Y como se cumplieron sus días para parir, he aquí mellizos en su vientre.

And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25 Y salió el primero bermejo, y todo él velludo como una ropa; y llamaron su nombre Esaú.

And the first came out red — all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

26 Y después salió su hermano, trabada su mano al calcañar de Esaú: y fue llamado su nombre Jacob. Y era Isaac de edad de sesenta años cuando Rebeca los parió.

And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when they were born.

27 Y crecieron los niños; y Esaú fue varón sabio en la caza, hombre del campo: Jacob empero era varón sincero, que estaba en las tiendas.

And the boys grew, and Esau became a man skilled in hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob was a homely man, dwelling in tents.

28 Y amó Isaac a Esaú, porque comía de su caza. Mas Rebeca amaba a Jacob.

And Isaac loved Esau, because venison was to his taste; and Rebecca loved Jacob.

29 Y guisó Jacob un guisado: y volviendo Esaú del campo cansado,

And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.

30 Dijo Esaú a Jacob: Ruégote que me des a comer de eso bermejo, eso bermejo, que estoy cansado. Por tanto fue llamado su nombre, Edom.

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the red — the red thing there, for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.

31 Y Jacob respondió: Véndeme hoy en este día tu primogenitura.

And Jacob said, Sell me now thy birthright.

32 Entonces dijo Esaú: He aquí, yo me voy a morir, ¿para qué pues me servirá la primogenitura?

And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?

33 Y dijo Jacob: Júrame hoy en este día. Y él le juró, y vendió su primogenitura a Jacob.

And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

34 Entonces Jacob dio a Esaú del pan, y del guisado de las lantejas; y él comió, y bebió, y levantóse, y fuése. Y así menospreció Esaú la primogenitura.

And Jacob gave Esau bread and the dish of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went away. Thus Esau despised the birthright.
