2 Crónicas 34

1 De ocho años era Josías, cuando comenzó a reinar, y treinta y un años reinó en Jerusalem.

Iosiah was eight yeere olde when hee began to reigne, and he reigned in Ierusalem one and thirtie yeere.

2 Este hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en los caminos de David su padre, sin apartarse ni a la diestra ni a la siniestra.

And he did vprightly in the sight of ye Lord, and walked in the wayes of Dauid his father, and bowed neither to the right hand nor to the left.

3 A los ocho años de su reino, siendo aun muchacho, comenzó a buscar al Dios de David su padre, y a los doce años comenzó a limpiar a Judá y a Jerusalem de los altos, bosques, esculturas, y fundiciones.

And in the eight yeere of his reigne (when he was yet a childe) he began to seeke after the God of Dauid his father: and in the twelft yeere he began to purge Iudah, and Ierusalem from the hie places, and the groues, and the carued images, and molten images:

4 Y derribaron delante de él los altares de los Baales, y quebró en piezas las imágenes del sol que estaban puestas encima; y los bosques, y las esculturas, y fundiciones, quebró y desmenuzó, y esparció el polvo sobre los sepulcros de los que habían sacrificado a ellos.

And they brake downe in his sight the altars of Baalim, and hee caused to cut downe the images that were on hie vpon them: he brake also the groues, and the carued images, and the molten images, and stampt them to pouder, and strowed it vpon the graues of them that had sacrificed vnto them.

5 Asimismo los huesos de los sacerdotes quemó sobre sus altares, y limpió a Judá y a Jerusalem.

Also he burnt the bones of the Priests vpon their altars, and purged Iudah and Ierusalem.

6 Lo mismo hizo en las ciudades de Manasés, Efraím, y Simeón, hasta en Neftalí, con sus lugares asolados al derredor.

And in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, euen vnto Naphtali, with their maules they brake all round about.

7 Y como hubo derribado los altares y los bosques, y quebrado y desmenuzado las esculturas, y destruido todos los ídolos del sol por toda la tierra de Israel, volvióse a Jerusalem.

And when he had destroyed the altars and the groues, and had broken and stamped to pouder the images, and had cut downe all the idoles throughout all the land of Israel, hee returned to Ierusalem.

8 A los diez y ocho años de su reino, después de haber limpiado la tierra, y la casa, envió a Safán, hijo de Eselías, y a Maasías gobernador de la ciudad, y a Johá, hijo de Joacas canciller, para que reparasen la casa de Jehová su Dios.

Then in the eightenth yere of his reigne, when hee had purged the lande and the Temple, he sent Shaphan the sonne of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the gouernour of the citie, and Ioah the sonne of Ioahaz the recorder, to repaire the house of the Lord his God.

9 Los cuales vinieron a Helcías gran sacerdote, y dieron el dinero que había sido metido en la casa de Jehová, que los Levitas que guardaban la puerta habían cogido de mano de Manasés, y de Efraím, y de todos los restos de Israel, y de todo Judá y Ben-jamín; y se habían vuelto a Jerusalem.

And when they came to Hilkiah the hie Priest, they deliuered ye money that was brought into the house of God, which the Leuites that kept the doore, had gathered at the hand of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and of all the residue of Israel, and of all Iudah and Beniamin, and of the inhabitantes of Ierusalem.

10 Y diéronlo en mano de los que hacían la obra, que eran prepósitos en la casa de Jehová: los cuales lo dieron a los que hacían la obra, y trabajaban en la casa de Jehová, en reparar y en instaurar el templo.

And they put it in the hands of them that should doe the worke and had the ouersight in the house of the Lord: and they gaue it to the workemen that wrought in the house of ye Lord, to repaire and amend the house.

11 Y dieron también a los oficiales y albañiles para que comprasen piedra de cantería, y madera para las comisuras, y para la trabazón de las casas, las cuales habían destruido los reyes de Judá.

Euen to the workemen and to the builders gaue they it, to bye hewed stone and timber for couples and for beames of the houses, which the Kings of Iudah had destroyed.

12 Y estos varones trabajaban con fidelidad en la obra: y eran sus gobernadores Jahat, y Abdías, Levitas de los hijos de Merari: y Zacarías y Mosollam, de los hijos de Caat, que solicitasen la obra: y de los Levitas, todos los entendidos en instrumentos de música:

And the men did the worke faithfully, and the ouerseers of them were Iahath and Obadiah the Leuites, of the children of Merari, and Zechariah, and Meshullam, of the children of the Kohathites to set it forward: and of the Leuites all that could skill of instruments of musike.

13 Y de los peones, tenían cargo los que solicitaban a todos los que hacían obra en todos los servicios: y de los Levitas, los escribas, gobernadores, y porteros.

And they were ouer the bearers of burdens, and them that set forwarde all the workemen in euery worke: and of the Leuites were scribes, and officers and porters.

14 Y como sacaron el dinero que había sido metido en la casa de Jehová, Helcías el sacerdote halló el libro de la ley de Jehová dada por mano de Moisés.

And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the Priest found the booke of the Lawe of the Lord giuen by the hand of Moses.

15 Y respondiendo Helcías, dijo a Safán escriba: Yo he hallado el libro de la ley en la casa de Jehová. Y dio Helcías el libro a Safán.

Therefore Hilkiah answered and sayde to Shaphan the chaceler, I haue found the booke of the Law in the house of the Lord: and Hilkiah gaue the booke to Shaphan.

16 Y Safán lo llevó al rey, y le contó el negocio, diciendo: Tus siervos han cumplido todo lo que les fue dado a cargo.

And Shaphan caried the booke to the King, and brought the King worde againe, saying, All that is committed to the hand of thy seruants, that do they.

17 Han tomado el dinero que se halló en la casa de Jehová, y lo han dado en mano de los señalados, y en mano de los que hacen la obra.

For they haue gathered the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and haue deliuered it into the handes of the ouerseers, and to the handes of the workemen.

18 Además de esto declaró Safán escriba al rey, diciendo: El sacerdote Helcías me dio un libro. Y leyó Safán en él delante del rey.

Also Shaphan ye chanceler declared to the King, saying, Hilkiah the Priest hath giuen mee a booke, and Shaphan read it before the King.

19 Y como el rey oyó las palabras de la ley, rompió sus vestidos.

And when the King had heard the wordes of the Lawe, he tare his clothes.

20 Y mandó a Helcías, y a Haicam, hijo de Safán, y a Abdón, hijo de Mica, y a Safán escriba, y a Asa siervo del rey, diciendo:

And the King commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan, and Abdon the sonne of Micah, and Shaphan the chanceler, and Asaiah the Kings seruant, saying,

21 Andád, y consultád a Jehová de mí, y de los restos de Israel y de Judá, acerca de las palabras del libro que se ha hallado: porque grande es el furor de Jehová que ha caído sobre nosotros, por cuanto nuestros padres no guardaron la palabra de Jehová, para hacer conforme a todas las cosas que están escritas en este libro.

Goe and enquire of the Lord for me, and for the rest in Israel and Iudah, concerning the wordes of this booke that is founde: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is fallen vpon vs, because our fathers haue not kept the worde of the Lord, to doe after all that is written in this booke.

22 Entonces Helcías y los del rey fueron a Oldán profetisa, mujer de Sellum, hijo de Tecuat, hijo de Hasra, guarda de los vestimentos, la cual moraba en Jerusalem, en la casa de la doctrina: y dijéronle las palabras dichas.

Then Hilkiah and they that the King had appoynted, went to Huldah the Prophetesse ye wife of Shallum, the sonne of Tokhath, the sonne of Hasrah keeper of the wardrobe (and she dwelt in Ierusalem within the colledge) and they communed hereof with her.

23 Y ella respondió: Jehová el Dios de Israel ha dicho así: Decíd al varón que os ha enviado a mí, que así ha dicho Jehová:

And shee answered them, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Tell yee the man that sent you to me,

24 He aquí, yo traigo mal sobre este lugar, y sobre los moradores de él, todas las maldiciones que están escritas en el libro que leyeron delante del rey de Judá:

Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I will bring euill vpon this place, and vpon the inhabitantes thereof, euen all the curses, that are written in the booke which they haue read before the King of Iudah:

25 Por cuanto me han dejado, y han sacrificado a dioses ajenos, provocándome a ira en todas las obras de sus manos: por tanto mi furor destilará sobre este lugar, y no se apagará.

Because they haue forsaken me, and burnt incense vnto other gods, to anger mee with al the workes of their hands, therefore shall my wrath fall vpon this place, and shall not be quenched.

26 Mas al rey de Judá, que os ha enviado a consultar a Jehová, así le diréis: Jehová el Dios de Israel ha dicho así: Por cuanto oíste las palabras del libro,

But to the King of Iudah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say vnto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The words which thou hast heard, shall come to passe.

27 Y tu corazón se enterneció, y te humillaste delante de Dios oyendo sus palabras sobre este lugar, y sobre sus moradores: humillástete delante de mí, y rompiste tus vestidos, y lloraste en mi presencia, yo también te he oído, dice Jehová:

But because thine heart did melt, and thou didest humble thy selfe before God, when thou heardest his wordes against this place and against the inhabitantes thereof, and humbledst thy selfe before mee and tarest thy clothes, and weptest before mee, I haue also heard it, sayth the Lord.

28 He aquí, yo te recogeré con tus padres, y serás recogido en tu sepulcro en paz: y tus ojos no verán todo el mal que yo traigo sobre este lugar, y sobre los moradores de él. Y ellos recitaron al rey la respuesta.

Beholde, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt bee put in thy graue in peace, and thine eyes shall not see all the euill, which I will bring vpon this place, and vpon the inhabitants of the same. Thus they brought ye King word againe.

29 Entonces el rey envió, y juntó todos los ancianos de Judá y de Jerusalem.

Then the King sent and gathered all the Elders of Iudah and Ierusalem.

30 Y subió el rey a la casa de Jehová, y con él todos los varones de Judá, y los moradores de Jerusalem, y los sacerdotes, y los Levitas, y todo el pueblo desde el mayor hasta el más pequeño: y leyó en los oídos de ellos todas las palabras del libro del concierto que había sido hallado en la casa de Jehová.

And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem, and the Priests and the Leuites, and all the people from the greatest to the smallest, and hee read in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant that was found in the house of the Lord.

31 Y estando el rey en pie en su lugar, hizo alianza delante de Jehová, que andarían en pos de Jehová, y que guardarían sus mandamientos, sus testimonios, y sus estatutos, de todo su corazón, y de toda su alma; y que harían las palabras del concierto, que estaban escritas en aquel libro.

And the King stood by his pillar, and made a couenant before the Lord, to walke after the Lord, and to keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soule, and that he would accomplish the wordes of the couenant written in the same booke.

32 E hizo que consintiesen todos los que estaban en Jerusalem y en Ben-jamín: y así hicieron los moradores de Jerusalem conforme al concierto de Dios, del Dios de sus padres.

And he caused all that were found in Ierusalem, and Beniamin to stande to it: and the inhabitants of Ierusalem did according to the couenant of God, euen the God of their fathers.

33 Y quitó Josías todas las abominaciones de todas las tierras de los hijos de Israel, e hizo a todos los que se hallaron en Israel que sirviesen a Jehová su Dios: no se apartaron de en pos de Jehová el Dios de sus padres todo el tiempo que él vivió.

So Iosiah tooke away al the abominations out of all the countreis that perteined to the children of Israel, and compelled all that were found in Israel, to serue the Lord their God: so all his dayes they turned not backe from the Lord God of their fathers.
