1 Reyes 16

1 Y fue palabra de Jehová a Jehú, hijo de Hanani, contra Baasa, diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

2 Por cuanto yo te levanté del polvo, y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, mas tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar a mi pueblo Israel, provocándome a ira en sus pecados:

Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel, and thou have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,

3 He aquí yo barro la posteridad de Baasa, y la posteridad de su casa; y pondré tu casa, como la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat.

behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house, and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

4 El que de Baasa fuere muerto en la ciudad, los perros le comerán: y el que de él fuere muerto en el campo, comerle han las aves del cielo.

He of Baasha who dies in the city shall the dogs eat, and he of his who dies in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat.

5 Lo demás de los hechos de Baasa, y las cosas que hizo, y su fortaleza, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6 Y durmió Baasa con sus padres, y fue sepultado en Tersa; y reinó en su lugar Ela su hijo.

And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

7 Y asimismo había sido palabra de Jehová por Jehú, hijo de Hanani, profeta, sobre Baasa, y sobre su casa, y sobre todo lo malo que hizo delante de los ojos de Jehová, provocándole a ira con las obras de sus manos, que sería hecha como la casa de Jeroboam: y sobre que le había herido.

And moreover the word of Jehovah came against Baasha by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smote him.

8 En el año veinte y seis de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Ela, hijo de Baasa, sobre Israel en Tersa, dos años:

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah, and reigned two years.

9 E hizo conjuración contra él su siervo Zambri, príncipe sobre la mitad de los carros: y estando él en Tersa bebiendo, y embriagado en casa de Arsa su mayordomo en Tersa,

And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah.

10 Vino Zambri, y le hirió, y mató en el año veinte y siete de Asa rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.

11 Y reinando él, y estando asentado en su trono hirió toda la casa de Baasa sin dejar en ella meante a la pared, ni sus parientes ni amigos.

And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha. He left him not a single man-child, neither of his kinfolks, nor of his friends.

12 Y así rayó Zambri toda la casa de Baasa, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, que había hablado contra Baasa por Jehú profeta:

Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,

13 Por todos los pecados de Baasa, y los pecados de Ela su hijo, con que ellos pecaron, e hicieron pecar a Israel, provocando a enojo a Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades.

for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

14 Los demás hechos de Ela, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

15 En el año veinte y siete de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Zambri siete días en Tersa: y el pueblo había asentado campo sobre Gebbetón, ciudad de los Filisteos.

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

16 Y el pueblo que estaba en el campo oyendo decir: Zambri ha hecho conjuración, y ha muerto al rey, entonces todo Israel levantó por rey sobre Israel a Amrí, general del ejército, el mismo día en el campo.

And the people who were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also smitten the king. Therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

17 Y subió Amrí y todo Israel con él de Gebbetón, y cercaron a Tersa.

And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

18 Y viendo Zambri tomada la ciudad se metió en el palacio de la casa real, y pegó fuego a la casa consigo; y murió,

And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire,

19 Por sus pecados con que él pecó, haciendo lo malo delante de los ojos de Jehová, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en sus pecados que hizo, haciendo pecar a Israel.

and died for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make Israel to sin.

20 Los demás hechos de Zambri, y su conspiración, que conspiró, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

21 Entonces el pueblo de Israel fue dividido en dos partes; la mitad del pueblo seguía a Tebni, hijo de Ginet, para hacerle rey: y la otra mitad seguía a Amrí.

Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts; half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.

22 Mas el pueblo que seguía a Amrí, pudo más que el que seguía a Tebni, hijo de Ginet: y Tebni murió, y Amrí fue rey.

But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. So Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

23 En el año treinta y uno de Asa rey de Judá, Amrí reinó sobre Israel doce años: y en Tersa reinó seis años.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel, and reigned twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.

24 Este compró el monte de Samaria de Semer por dos talentos de plata: y edificó en el monte, y llamó el nombre de la ciudad que edificó, como el nombre de Semer, señor del monte de Samaria.

And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver. And he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.

25 E hizo Amrí lo malo delante de los ojos de Jehová, e hizo peor que todos los que habían sido antes de él.

And Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.

26 Porque anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel, provocando a ira a Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades.

For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

27 Lo demás de los hechos de Amrí, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

28 Y Amrí durmió con sus padres, y fue sepultado en Samaria; y reinó en su lugar Acab su hijo.

So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria, and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

29 Y comenzó a reinar Acab, hijo de Amrí, sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa rey de Judá.

And in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel. And Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

30 Y reinó Acab, hijo de Amrí, sobre Israel en Samaria, veinte y dos años. Y Acab, hijo de Amrí, hizo lo malo delante de los ojos de Jehová sobre todos los que fueron antes de él.

And Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah above all who were before him.

31 Porque le fue ligera cosa andar en los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et-baal, rey de los Sidonios: y fue, y sirvió a Baal, y le adoró.

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.

32 E hizo altar a Baal, en el templo de Baal que él edificó en Samaria.

And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

33 Hizo también Acab bosque: y añadió Acab haciendo provocar a ira a Jehová Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel, que fueron antes de él.

And Ahab made the Asherah. And Ahab did yet more to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

34 En su tiempo Hiel de Bet-el reedificó a Jericó. En Abiram su primogénito la fundó: y en Segub su hijo postrero puso sus puertas, conforme a la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por Josué, hijo de Nun.

In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho. He laid the foundation of it with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates of it with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
