Ester 5
1 Al tercer día, Ester se vistió con sus ropas reales y se puso en el patio interior de la casa real, junto a la casa del rey. El rey estaba sentado en su trono real en la casa real, junto a la entrada de la casa.
Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the entrance of the house.
2 Cuando el rey vio a la reina Ester de pie en el patio, ella obtuvo el favor de sus ojos; y el rey le tendió a Ester el cetro de oro que tenía en la mano. Entonces Ester se acercó y tocó la punta del cetro.
And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
3 Entonces el rey le preguntó: “¿Qué quieres, reina Ester? ¿Cuál es tu petición? Se te dará hasta la mitad del reino”.
Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be given thee even to the half of the kingdom.
4 Ester dijo: “Si al rey le parece bien, que el rey y Amán vengan hoy al banquete que le he preparado”.
And Esther said, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.
5 Entonces el rey dijo: “Trae pronto a Amán, para que se haga lo que ha dicho Ester”. Así que el rey y Amán llegaron al banquete que Ester había preparado.
Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that it may be done as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 El rey dijo a Ester en el banquete del vino: “¿Cuál es tu petición? Se te concederá. ¿Cuál es tu petición? Hasta la mitad del reino se cumplirá”.
And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall he granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.
7 Entonces Ester respondió y dijo: “Mi petición y mi solicitud es ésta.
Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;
8 Si he hallado gracia ante los ojos del rey, y si al rey le agrada conceder mi petición y cumplir mi solicitud, que el rey y Amán vengan al banquete que les prepararé, y yo haré mañana lo que el rey ha dicho.”
if I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king hath said.
9 Entonces Amán salió aquel día alegre y contento de corazón, pero cuando vio a Mardoqueo en la puerta del rey, que no se levantaba ni se movía por él, se llenó de ira contra Mardoqueo.
Then went Haman forth that day joyful and glad of heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up nor moved for him, he was filled with wrath against Mordecai.
10 Sin embargo, Amán se contuvo y se fue a su casa. Allí mandó llamar a sus amigos y a Zeresh, su esposa.
Nevertheless Haman refrained himself, and went home; and he sent and fetched his friends and Zeresh his wife.
11 Amán les contó la gloria de sus riquezas, la multitud de sus hijos, todas las cosas en que el rey lo había promovido, y cómo lo había aventajado por encima de los príncipes y servidores del rey.
And Haman recounted unto them the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
12 También dijo Amán: “Sí, la reina Ester no dejó entrar a nadie con el rey al banquete que ella había preparado, sino a mí; y mañana también estoy invitado por ella junto con el rey.
Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow also am I invited by her together with the king.
13 Pero todo esto no me sirve de nada, mientras vea al judío Mardoqueo sentado a la puerta del rey.”
Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.
14 Entonces Zeresh, su mujer, y todos sus amigos le dijeron: “Que se haga una horca de cincuenta codos de altura, y por la mañana habla con el rey de colgar a Mardoqueo en ella. Entonces entra alegremente con el rey al banquete”. Esto le gustó a Amán, así que mandó hacer la horca.
Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
