1 Reyes 4

1 El rey Salomón gobernó sobre todo Israel.

And king Solomon is king over all Israel,

2 Estos eran sus funcionarios: Azarías, hijo de Sadoc, era el sacerdote;

and these [are] the heads whom he hath: Azariah son of Zadok [is] the priest;

3 Elijoref y Ahías, hijos de Sisá, eran los secretarios del rey. Josafat, hijo de Ajilud, llevaba los registros reales.

Elihoreph and Ahiah sons of Shisha [are] scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer;

4 Benaía, hijo de Joyadá, era el comandante del ejército. Sadoc y Abiatar eran sacerdotes.

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests;

5 Azarías, hijo de Natán, estaba a cargo de los gobernadores. Zabud, hijo de Natán, era sacerdote y consejero del rey.

and Azariah son of Nathan [is] over the officers; and Zabud son of Nathan [is] minister, friend of the king;

6 Ajisar era el administrador del palacio. Adoniram, hijo de Abdá, estaba a cargo de los obligados a trabajar para el rey.

And Ahishar [is] over the household, and Adoniram son of Abda [is] over the tribute.

7 Salomón tenía doce gobernadores de zona cuyas responsabilidades abarcaban todo Israel, proporcionando alimentos para el rey y su casa. Cada uno, a su vez, organizaba los suministros para un mes del año.

And Solomon hath twelve officers over all Israel, and they have sustained the king and his household — a month in the year is on each one for sustenance;

8 Sus nombres eran: Ben-Jur, en la región montañosa de Efraín;

and these [are] their names: Ben-Hur in the hill-country of Ephraim;

9 Ben Decar en Macaz, Salbín, Bet-semes y Elon-bet-Janán;

Ben-Dekar in Makaz, and Shaalbim, and Beth-Shemesh, and Elon-Beth-Hanan.

10 Ben Jésed en Arubot (Soco y toda la tierra de Héferle pertenecían);

Ben-Hesed [is] in Aruboth, hath Sochoh and all the land of Hepher;

11 Ben Abinadab, en todo Nafat-dor (Tafat, la hija de Salomón, era su esposa);

Ben-Abinadab [hath] all the elevation of Dor, Taphath daughter of Solomon became his wife.

12 Baná, hijo de Ajilud, en Tanac y Meguido, en toda la zona de Bet Seán, cerca de Saretán, debajo de Jezrel, y desde Bet-seán hasta Abel-Mejolá y a través de Jocmeán;

Baana Ben-Ahilud [hath] Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which [is] by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth-Shean unto Abel-Meholah, unto beyond Jokneam.

13 Ben-guéber, en Ramot de Galaad (las ciudades de Jair, hijo de Manasés, en Galaad le pertenecían, así como la región de Argob en Basán, con sesenta grandes ciudades con murallas y barras de bronce);

Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, hath the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which [are] in Gilead; he hath a portion of Argob that [is] in Bashan, sixty great cities [with] wall and brazen bar.

14 Ajinadab, hijo de Idó, en Majanayin;

Ahinadab son of Iddo [hath] Mahanaim.

15 Ajimaz, en Neftalí (se había casado con Basemat, hija de Salomón);

Ahimaaz [is] in Naphtali; he also hath taken Basemath daughter of Solomon for a wife.

16 Baaná, hijo de Husay, en Aser y en Alot;

Baanah Ben-Hushai [is] in Asher, and in Aloth.

17 Josafat, hijo de Parúa, en Isacar;

Jehoshaphat Ben-Paruah [is] in Issachar.

18 Simí, hijo de Elá, en Benjamín;

Shimei Ben-Elah [is] in Benjamin.

19 Geber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad, (la antigua tierra de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, y de Og, rey de Basán. También había un gobernador que estaba sobre la tierra de Judá).

Geber Ben-Uri [is] in the land of Gilead, the land of Sihon king of the Amorite, and of Og king of Bashan: and one officer who [is] in the land.

20 Judá e Israel habían llegado a ser tan numerosos como la arena en la orilla de la fuente de metal. Comían, bebían y eran felices.

Judah and Israel [are] many, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.

21 Salomón dominaba todos los reinos desde el río Éufrates hasta el país de los filisteos, hasta la frontera de Egipto. Presentaron tributo a Salomón y le sirvieron durante su vida.

And Solomon hath been ruling over all the kingdoms, from the River [to] the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt: they are bringing nigh a present, and serving Solomon, all days of his life.

22 La comida que necesitaba cada día la corte de Salomón era de treinta coros de la mejor harina y sesenta coros de harina;

And the provision of Solomon for one day is thirty cors of flour, and sixty cors of meal;

23 diez reses engordadas, veinte reses de pasto, cien ovejas, así como ciervos, gacelas, corzos y aves de corral engordadas.

ten fat oxen, and twenty feeding oxen, and a hundred sheep, apart from hart, and roe, and fallow-deer, and fatted beasts of the stalls,

24 Porque Salomón gobernaba toda la región al oeste del Éufrates, desde Tifa hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reinos al oeste del Éufrates. Y tenía paz por todos lados a su alrededor. Tuvo paz en todas las fronteras.

for he is ruling over all beyond the river, from Tiphsah and unto Gaza, over all the kings beyond the river, and he hath peace from all his servants round about.

25 Durante la vida de Salomón, todos los habitantes de Judá e Israel vivían con seguridad, desde Dan hasta Beerseba. Cada uno tenía su propia vid e higuera.

And Judah dwelleth — and Israel — in confidence, each under his vine, and under his fig-tree, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, all the days of Solomon.

26 Salomón tenía 40.000 establos para los caballos de sus carros y 12.000 auriculares.

And Solomon hath forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

27 Cada mes, los gobernadores de la zona proporcionaban por turnos comida al rey Salomón y a todos los que comían en su mesa. Se aseguraban de que no faltara nada.

And these officers have sustained king Solomon and every one drawing near unto the table of king Solomon, each [in] his month; they let nothing be lacking.

28 También entregaban cebada y paja donde se necesitaban para los caballos de los carros y las carretas.

And the barley and the straw, for horses and for dromedaries, they bring in unto the place where they are, each according to his ordinance.

29 Dios le dio a Salomón sabiduría, un discernimiento muy grande y un entendimiento tan extenso como la arena de la orilla de la fuente de metal.

And God giveth wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;

30 La sabiduría de Salomón era mayor que la de todos los sabios de Oriente, mayor que toda la sabiduría de Egipto.

and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;

31 Era más sabio que cualquiera, más sabio que Etán el ezraíta, más sabio que Hemán, Calcol y Darda, hijos de Mahol. Su fama se extendió por las naciones que le rodeaban.

and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about.

32 Salomón compuso tres mil proverbios y mil cinco canciones.

And he speaketh three thousand similes, and his songs [are] five, and the chief one;

33 Podía hablar del conocimiento de los árboles, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que crece en los muros. Enseñó sobre los animales, las aves, los reptiles y los peces.

and he speaketh concerning the trees, from the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaketh concerning the cattle, and concerning the fowl, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes,

34 Gente de todas las naciones acudía a escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón. Eran enviadas por todos los reyes de la tierra, que habían oído hablar de su sabiduría.

and there come out of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.
