Salmos 94

1 ¡Oh Dios vengador, Yahvé, Dios de las venganzas, muéstrate!

Yahweh, God who avenges, God who avenges, shine over us.

2 Levántate, glorioso, oh Juez del mundo; da a los soberbios lo que merecen.

Rise up, judge of the earth, give to the proud what they deserve.

3 ¿Hasta cuándo los malvados, Yahvé? ¿Hasta cuándo los malvados triunfarán,

How long will the wicked, Yahweh, how long will the wicked rejoice?

4 proferirán necedades con lenguaje arrogante, se jactarán todos de sus obras inicuas?

They pour out their arrogant words; all those who do evil boast.

5 Oprimen a tu pueblo, Yahvé, y devastan tu heredad;

They crush your people, Yahweh; they afflict the nation that belongs to you.

6 asesinan a la viuda y al extranjero, y matan a los huérfanos.

They kill the widow and foreigner who lives in their country, and they murder the fatherless.

7 Y dicen: “El Señor no lo ve, el Dios de Jacob nada sabe.”

They say, “Yahweh will not see, the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.”

8 Entendedlo, oh necios entre todos; insensatos, sabedlo al fin:

Understand, you stupid people! You fools, when will you ever learn?

9 Aquel que plantó el oído ¿no oirá Él mismo? Y el que formó el ojo ¿no verá?

He who made the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see?

10 El que castiga a las naciones ¿no ha de pedir cuentas? Aquel que enseña al hombre ¿ (no tendrá) conocimiento?

He who disciplines the nations, does he not correct? He is the one who gives knowledge to man.

11 Yahvé conoce los pensamientos de los hombres: ¡son una cosa vana!

Yahweh knows the thoughts of men, that they are vapor.

12 Dichoso el hombre a quien Tú educas, oh Yah, el que Tú instruyes mediante tu Ley,

Blessed is the one whom you instruct, Yahweh, the one whom you teach from your law.

13 para darle tranquilidad en los días aciagos, hasta que se cave la fosa para el inicuo.

You give him rest in times of trouble until a pit is dug for the wicked.

14 Puesto que Yahvé no desechará a su pueblo, ni desamparará su heredad,

For Yahweh will not forsake his people or abandon his inheritance.

15 sino que volverá a imperar la justicia, y la seguirán todos los rectos de corazón.

For judgment will again be righteous; and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 ¿Quién se levantará en mi favor contra los malhechores? ¿Quién se juntará conmigo para oponerse a los malvados?

Who will rise up to defend me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the wicked?

17 Si Yahvé no estuviese para ayudarme, ya el silencio sería mi morada.

Unless Yahweh had been my help, I would soon be lying down in the place of silence.

18 Cuando pienso: “Mi pie va a resbalar”, tu misericordia, Yahvé, me sostiene.

When I said, “My foot is slipping,” Your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, held me up.

19 Cuando las ansiedades se multiplican en mi corazón, tus consuelos deleitan mi alma.

When cares within me are many, your consolations make me happy.

20 ¿Podrá tener comunidad contigo la sede de la iniquidad, que forja tiranía bajo apariencia legal?

Can a throne of destruction be allied with you, one who creates injustice by statute?

21 Asalten ellos el alma del justo, y condenen la sangre inocente;

They conspire together to take the life of the righteous and they condemn the innocent to death.

22 mas Yahvé será para mí una fortaleza, y el Dios mío la roca de mi refugio.

But Yahweh has been my high tower, and my God has been the rock of my refuge.

23 Él hará que su perversidad caiga sobre ellos mismos; y con su propia malicia los destruirá, los exterminará Yahvé, nuestro Dios.

He will bring on them their own iniquity and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Yahweh our God will cut them off.
