Salmos 33

1 Cantad, oh justos, a Yahvé, la alabanza es propia de los rectos.

[A Psalm] of David. Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous; praise becomes the upright.

2 Celebrad al Señor con la cítara; con el arpa de diez cuerdas cantadle himnos.

Praise the Lord on the harp; platy to him on a lute of ten strings.

3 Entonadle un cántico nuevo; tañed bien sonoramente.

Sing to him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

4 Porque la Palabra de Yahvé es recta, y toda su conducta es fiel.

For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are faithful.

5 Él ama la misericordia y la justicia, la tierra está llena de la bondad de Yahvé.

He loves mercy and judgement; the earth is full the mercy of the Lord.

6 Por la Palabra de Yahvé fueron hechos los cielos, y todo su ornato por el soplo de su boca.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the host of them by the breath of his [mouth].

7 Él junta como en un odre las aguas del mar, encierra en depósitos los abismos.

Who gathers the waters of the sea as [in] a bottle; who lays up the deeps in treasuries.

8 Tema a Yahvé toda la tierra; reveréncienle todos los pobladores del orbe.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; and let all that dwell in the world be moved because of him.

9 Porque Él habló y quedaron hechos; mandó, y tuvieron ser.

For he spoke, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created.

10 Yahvé desbarata los planes de las naciones, deshace los designios de los pueblos.

The Lord frustrates the counsels of the nations; he brings to nothing also the reasonings of the peoples, and brings to nothing the counsels of princes.

11 Mas los planes del Señor permanecen eternamente; los designios de su corazón, de generación en generación.

But the counsel of the Lord endures for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.

12 ¡Dichoso el pueblo que tiene por Dios a Yahvé, dichoso el pueblo que Él escogió para herencia suya!

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.

13 Yahvé mira desde lo alto de los cielos, ve a todos los hijos de los hombres.

The Lord looks out of heaven; he beholds all the sons of men.

14 Desde el lugar de su morada fija sus ojos, sobre todos los que habitan la tierra.

He looks from his prepared habitation on all the dwellers on the earth;

15 Él, que formó el corazón de cada uno, presta atención a todas sus acciones.

who fashioned their hearts alone; who understands all their works.

16 No vence el rey por un gran ejército; el guerrero no se salva por su mucha fuerza.

A king is not saved by reason of a great host; and a giant shall not be delivered by the greatness of his strength.

17 Engañoso es el caballo para la victoria, todo su vigor no salvará al jinete.

A horse is vain for safety; neither shall he be delivered by the greatness of his power.

18 Mas los ojos de Yahvé velan por los que le temen, por los que esperan de su misericordia,

Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him, those that hope in his mercy;

19 que ha de librar sus almas de la muerte, y alimentarlos en el tiempo de hambre.

to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Nuestra alma cuenta con Yahvé; Él es nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo.

Our soul waits on the Lord; for he is our helper and defender.

21 En Él se regocija nuestro corazón, y en su santo Nombre confiamos.

For our heart shall rejoice in him, and we have hoped in his holy name.

22 Sea, Yahvé, sobre nosotros tu misericordia, según lo esperamos de Ti.

Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in you.
