Salmos 116

1 ¡Hallelú Yah! Yo lo amo, porque Yahvé escucha mi voz, mi súplica;

I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.

2 porque inclinó hacia mí su oído el día en que lo invoqué.

Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

3 Me habían rodeado los lazos de la muerte, vinieron sobre mí las angustias del sepulcro; caí en la turbación y en el temor. (Sheol h7585)

The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)

4 Pero invoqué el Nombre de Yahvé: ¡Oh Yahvé, salva mi vida!

Then I called on Yahweh’s name: “Yahweh, I beg you, deliver my soul.”

5 Yahvé es benigno y justo; sí, nuestro Dios es misericordioso.

Yahweh is gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful.

6 Yahvé cuida de los sencillos; yo era miserable y Él me salvó.

Yahweh preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.

7 Vuelve, alma mía, a tu sosiego, porque Yahvé te ha favorecido.

Return to your rest, my soul, for Yahweh has dealt bountifully with you.

8 Puesto que Él ha arrancado mi vida de la muerte, mis ojos del llanto, mis pies de la caída,

For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

9 caminaré delante de Yahvé en la tierra de los vivientes.

I will walk before Yahweh in the land of the living.

10 Yo tenía confianza aun cuando hablé diciendo: “Grande es mi aflicción”,

I believed, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.”

11 y exclamando en mi angustia: “Todo hombre es mentira.”

I said in my haste, “All people are liars.”

12 ¿Qué daré a Yahvé por todo lo que Él me ha dado?

What will I give to Yahweh for all his benefits toward me?

13 Tomaré la copa de la salud y publicaré el Nombre de Yahvé.

I will take the cup of salvation, and call on Yahweh’s name.

14 [Cumpliré los votos hechos a Yahvé en presencia de todo su pueblo.]

I will pay my vows to Yahweh, yes, in the presence of all his people.

15 Es cosa grave delante de Yahvé la muerte de sus fieles.

Precious in Yahweh’s sight is the death of his saints.

16 Oh Yahvé, yo soy tu siervo; siervo tuyo, hijo de tu esclava. Tú soltaste mis ataduras,

Yahweh, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant girl. You have freed me from my chains.

17 y yo te ofreceré un sacrificio de alabanza; publicaré el Nombre de Yahvé.

I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Yahweh’s name.

18 Cumpliré a Yahvé estos votos en presencia de todo su pueblo;

I will pay my vows to Yahweh, yes, in the presence of all his people,

19 en los atrios de la casa de Yahvé, en medio de ti, oh Jerusalén.

in the courts of Yahweh’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem. Praise Yah!
