Esdras 6
1 Entonces el rey Darío dio orden, y se hicieron investigaciones en la casa de los archivos, donde se guardaban los tesoros, allá en Babilonia.
So King Darius ordered an investigation in the house of archives in Babylon.
2 Y fue hallado en el alcázar de Ecbátana, en la provincia de Media, un rollo, en que estaba escrito el siguiente documento:
In the fortified city of Ecbatana in Media a scroll was found; this was its record:
3 “En el año primero del rey Ciro ha dado el rey Ciro este edicto: Edifíquese la Casa de Dios en Jerusalén, la Casa que ha de servir de lugar para ofrecer sacrificios, y que se echen los fundamentos. Su altura sea de sesenta codos, y su anchura de sesenta codos,
“In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus issued a decree about the house of God in Jerusalem: 'Let the house be rebuilt as a place for sacrifice, let its foundations be laid, let its height be sixty cubits, and its width sixty cubits,
4 con tres órdenes de piedras enormes y una hilera de vigas; y los gastos corran por cuenta de la casa del rey.
with three rows of large stones and a row of new timber, and let the cost be paid by the king's house.
5 Sean devueltos también los utensilios de oro y de plata de la Casa de Dios que Nabucodonosor sacó del Templo de Jerusalén y llevó a Babilonia; y sean transportados al Templo que está en Jerusalén, al lugar donde estaban. Tú los depositarás en la Casa de Dios.”
Now bring back the gold and silver objects belonging to the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar brought to Babylon from the temple in Jerusalem and send them back to the temple in Jerusalem. You are to put them in the house of God.'
6 “Ahora bien, tú, Tatnai, gobernador de allende el río, y tú, Setarboznai, con vuestros compañeros, los afarseos, que habitáis en el otro lado del río, retiraos de ellos,
Now Tattenai, the governor of the Province Beyond the River, Shethar-Bozenai, and associates who are in the Province Beyond the River, keep away!
7 y dejad fabricar esta casa de Dios al gobernador de los judíos y a los ancianos de los judíos. Que ellos edifiquen esta Casa de Dios en su lugar.
Leave the work of this house of God alone. The governor and Jewish elders will build this house of God at that place.
8 Yo de mi parte para edificar esta Casa de Dios, os doy esta orden respecto de lo que habéis de hacer en favor de estos ancianos de los judíos: que se pague a aquellos hombres los gastos exactamente y sin demora de la hacienda del rey, es decir, de los tributos de más allá del río.
I am ordering that you must do this for these Jewish elders who build this house of God: Funds from the king's tribute beyond the River will be used to pay these men so they do not have to stop their work.
9 Y lo que necesiten para los holocaustos (a ofrecer) al Dios del cielo, becerros, carneros y corderos, y también trigo, sal, vino y aceite, se les entregue sin falta día por día según lo exijan los sacerdotes que están en Jerusalén.
Whatever is needed—young bulls, rams, or lambs for the burnt offerings to the God of Heaven, grain, salt, wine, or oil according to the command of the priests in Jerusalem—give these things to them every day without fail.
10 para que presenten sacrificios de olor grato al Dios del cielo, y oren por la vida del rey y de sus hijos.
Do this so they will bring the offering in to the God of Heaven and pray for me, the king, and my sons.
11 Decreto también que a cualquier hombre que mudare este mandato, se le arranque de su casa una viga, en la cual él sea colgado y clavado, y en castigo de eso sea convertida su casa en un montón de escombros.
I am ordering that if anyone violates this decree, a beam must be pulled from his house and he must be impaled on it. His house must then be turned into a rubbish heap because of this.
12 ¡Que el Dios que hace residir allí su Nombre derribe a todo rey y pueblo que extienda su mano para mudar este decreto y destruir esta Casa de Dios en Jerusalén! Yo Darío he dado este edicto; sea ejecutado exactamente.”
May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who lifts a hand to change this decree, or to destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, am ordering this. Let it be done with diligence!”
13 Entonces Tatnai, gobernador de más allá del río, Setarboznai y sus compañeros, lo ejecutaron exactamente, de acuerdo a la orden que el rey Darío había enviado.
Then because of the decree sent by Darius the king, Tattenai, the governor of the Province Beyond the River, and Shethar-Bozenai and his associates, did everything that King Darius had ordered.
14 Los ancianos de los judíos prosiguieron con buen éxito la reconstrucción, (animados) por las profecías de Ageo profeta, y de Zacarías, hijo de Iddó. Así construyeron hasta el fin, por orden del Dios de Israel, y por mandato de Ciro, Darío y Artajerjes, reyes de Persia;
So the Jewish elders built and prospered under the teaching of Haggaithe prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. They completed their buildings according to the decree of the God of Israel and by the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes the king of Persia.
15 y fue terminada esta Casa el día tercero del mes de Adar, en el año sexto del reinado del rey Darío.
The house was completed on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of King Darius' reign.
16 Los hijos de Israel, los sacerdotes y los levitas y el resto de los hijos del cautiverio, celebraron con gozo la dedicación de esta Casa de Dios,
The Israelite people, priests, Levites, and the rest of the captives celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
17 ofreciendo para la dedicación de esta Casa de Dios cien becerros, doscientos carneros, cuatrocientos corderos, y conforme al número de las tribus de Israel, doce machos cabríos para sacrificios por el pecado en favor de todo Israel.
They offered one hundred bulls, one hundred rams, and four hundred lambs for the dedication of God's house. Twelve male goats were also offered as a sin offering for all Israel, one for each tribe in Israel.
18 Y establecieron a los sacerdotes según sus divisiones, y a los levitas según sus clases, para el servicio de Dios en Jerusalén, conforme a lo escrito en el Libro de Moisés.
They also assigned the priests and Levites to work divisions for the service of God in Jerusalem, as it was written in the Book of Moses.
19 Los hijos del cautiverio celebraron la Pascua el día catorce del mes primero;
So those who had been in exile celebrated the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
20 pues entonces se habían purificado todos los sacerdotes y los levitas, sin excepción alguna; todos estaban puros, e inmolaron la Pascua para todos los hijos del cautiverio, para sus hermanos los sacerdotes, y para ellos mismos.
The priests and Levites all purified themselves and slaughtered the Passover sacrifices for all those who had been in exile, including themselves.
21 Los israelitas vueltos del cautiverio la comieron, y todos los que se habían separado de las inmundicias de los gentiles del país, agregándose a aquellos para buscar a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.
The Israelite people who ate some of the Passover meat were those who had returned from exile and had separated themselves from the uncleanness of the people of the land and sought Yahweh, the God of Israel.
22 Celebraron la fiesta de los Ácimos con júbilo durante siete días; pues Yahvé los había llenado de alegría y dirigido hacia ellos el corazón del rey de Asiria para robustecer sus manos en la obra de la Casa de Dios, el Dios de Israel.
They joyfully celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days, for Yahweh had brought them joy and turned the heart of Assyria's king to strengthen their hands in the work of his house, the house of the God of Israel.
