Ezequiel 29

1 El año décimo, el día doce del décimo mes, recibí la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo:

In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the LORD’s word came to me, saying,

2 “Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro contra el Faraón, rey de Egipto, y vaticina contra él, y contra todo Egipto.

“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

3 Habla y di: Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Heme aquí contra ti, Faraón, rey de Egipto, cocodrilo gigantesco que yaces en medio de sus ríos y dices: «Mi río, es mío, pues yo lo hice.»

Speak and say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the middle of his rivers, that has said, ‘My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’

4 Por eso pondré garfios en tus quijadas, y haré que se peguen los peces de tus ríos a tus escamas, y te sacaré de en medio de tus ríos, con todos los peces de tus ríos, pegados a tus escamas;

I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your scales. I will bring you up out of the middle of your rivers, with all the fish of your rivers which stick to your scales.

5 y te echaré al desierto, con todos los peces de tus ríos; sobre la superficie del campo caerás, y no serás recogido ni levantado; a las fieras de la tierra y a las aves del cielo te daré como pasto.

I’ll cast you out into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers. You’ll fall on the open field. You won’t be brought together or gathered. I have given you for food to the animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky.

6 Y conocerán todos los habitantes de Egipto que Yo soy Yahvé; porque has sido un báculo de caña para los hijos de Israel.

“‘“All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

7 Cuando te tomaban con la mano, te rompías lastimándoles todo el hombro; y cuando en ti se apoyaban, te hacías pedazos, paralizándoles todo el cuerpo.

When they took hold of you by your hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders. When they leaned on you, you broke and paralysed all of their thighs.”

8 Por tanto, así dice, Yahvé, el Señor: He aquí que haré venir sobre ti la espada, y exterminaré en ti hombres y bestias.

“‘Therefore the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I will bring a sword on you, and will cut off man and animal from you.

9 Y la tierra de Egipto quedará hecha un desierto y una soledad; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé; porque (el Faraón) ha dicho: «El río es mío, y yo lo he hecho».

The land of Egypt will be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am the LORD. “‘“Because he has said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it,’

10 Por eso, he aquí que estoy contra ti y contra tus ríos, y convertiré la tierra de Egipto en desierto desolado, desde Migdol hasta Siene, y hasta los confines de Etiopía.

therefore, behold, I am against you and against your rivers. I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even to the border of Ethiopia.

11 No pasará por ella pie de hombre; ni transitará por allí pie de bestia; ni será habitada por cuarenta años.

No foot of man will pass through it, nor will any animal foot pass through it. It won’t be inhabited for forty years.

12 Y haré del país de Egipto un yermo en medio de (otros) países yermos, y sus ciudades quedarán desoladas por cuarenta años en medio de las ciudades devastadas; y dispersaré a los egipcios entre las naciones y los esparciré por los países.

I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the middle of the countries that are desolate. Her cities amongst the cities that are laid waste will be a desolation forty years. I will scatter the Egyptians amongst the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.”

13 Pues así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Al cabo de los cuarenta años congregaré a los egipcios de entre los pueblos donde han estado dispersos.

“‘For the Lord GOD says: “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples where they were scattered.

14 Y pondré término al cautiverio de Egipto, y los conduciré a la tierra de Patros, tierra de su origen, y allí formarán un modesto reino.

I will reverse the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth. There they will be a lowly kingdom.

15 Será más humilde que los (demás) reinos; y no se alzará más sobre las naciones; Yo los disminuiré, para que no dominen más sobre los pueblos.

It will be the lowest of the kingdoms. It won’t lift itself up above the nations any more. I will diminish them so that they will no longer rule over the nations.

16 No serán ya para la casa de Israel un objeto de confianza sino un recuerdo de la iniquidad (que cometieron) al volverse hacia ellos; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé, el Señor.”

It will no longer be the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to memory, when they turn to look after them. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD.”’”

17 El año veinte y siete, el primer día del primer mes, recibí la palabra de Yahvé, el cual me dijo:

It came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the LORD’s word came to me, saying,

18 “Hijo de hombre: Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, ha fatigado mucho a su ejército contra Tiro; todas las cabezas quedaron calvas y todos los hombros pelados; sin embargo, ni él ni su ejército recibieron de Tiro recompensa alguna por el servicio que prestaron contra ella.

“Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet he had no wages, nor did his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.

19 Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: He aquí que voy a dar a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, el país de Egipto y él se llevará sus riquezas; tomará sus despojos y saqueará su botín y esta será la paga para su ejército.

Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He will carry off her multitude, take her plunder, and take her prey. That will be the wages for his army.

20 Por su servicio prestado contra (Tiro) le he dado la tierra de Egipto; pues han trabajado para Mí, dice Yahvé, el Señor.

I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he served, because they worked for me,’ says the Lord GOD.

21 En aquel día haré crecer un cuerno a la casa de Israel, y a ti te abriré la boca en medio de ellos; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé.”

“In that day I will cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth amongst them. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
