1 Aasaaskiisu wuxuu ku jiraa buuraha quduuska ah.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 Rabbigu degmooyinka reer Yacquub oo dhan Wuxuu ka jecel yahay irdaha Siyoon.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Magaalada Ilaahay, Waxyaalo ammaan badan ayaa lagaa sheegaa. (Selaah)

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Anigu waxaan ka sheekayn doonaa Rahab iyo Baabuloon sidii kuwo i yaqaan, Bal eeg, Falastiin, iyo Turos, iyo Itoobiya. Midkanu halkaasuu ku dhashay.

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 Haah, oo Siyoonna waxaa laga odhan doonaa, Midkan iyo midkaasuba iyaduu ku dhashay, Oo Ilaaha ugu sarreeya ayaa iyada dhisi doona.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 Rabbigu wuu tirin doonaa markuu dadka qorayo, Midkanu halkaasuu ku dhashay. (Selaah)

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Kuwa gabya iyo kuwa cayaaraaba waxay odhan doonaan, Waxaa kugu jira ilahayga oo dhan.

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
