Psalmi 135

1 Aleluja! Hvalite ime Gospodovo, hvalite gospodovi hlapci!

Praise ye Yah, Praise ye the Name of Yahweh, Praise, O ye servants of Yahweh;

2 Kateri stojite v hiši Gospodovi, v vežah hiše našega Boga.

Who stand In the house of Yahweh, In the courts of the house of our God.

3 Hvalite Gospoda, ker dober je Gospod; prepevajte imenu njegovemu, ker je prijetno.

Praise ye Yah, For good is Yahweh, Sing praises to his Name, For it is full of delight;

4 Ker Jakoba si je izvolil Gospod, Izraela v svojo last.

For, Jacob, hath Yah chosen for himself, Israel, for his own treasure.

5 Ker jaz vem, da je velik Gospod, in kralj naš nad vse bogove.

For, I, know that great is Yahweh, yea, our Lord, is beyond all gods.

6 Karkoli mu je po volji, stori Gospod; v nebesih in na zemlji, po morjih in vseh breznih.

Whatsoever Yahweh hath pleased, he hath done, —in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas, and all resounding deeps:

7 Ki pripelje sopare od kraja zemlje, bliske dela z dežjem, vetrove jemlje iz zakladnic svojih.

Causing vapours to ascend from the end of the earth, —Lightnings for the rain, hath he made, bringing forth wind out of his treasuries.

8 Ki je udaril prvorojeno v Egiptu, od ljudî in od živine.

Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man, and of beast;

9 Poslal je znamenja in čuda v sredo tvojo, Egipt, zoper Faraona in zoper vse hlapce njegove.

Sent signs and wonders into thy midst, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

10 Kateri je udaril narode mogočne, in pobil silne kralje.

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings:

11 Sihona, kralja Amorejskega in Oga, kralja Basanskega, in vsa kraljestva Kanaanska.

Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;

12 In dal je njih deželo v posest, v posest Izraelu, svojemu ljudstvu.

And gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to Israel his people.

13 O Gospod, ime tvoje je vekomaj; Gospod, spomin tvoj od roda do roda.

O Yahweh! thy Name, is age-abiding, —O Yahweh! thy memorial, is to generation after generation.

14 Ker Gospod sodi ljudstvo svoje, žal mu je kmalu za hlapce svoje.

For Yahweh will vindicate his people, —and, on his servants, have compassion.

15 Maliki narodov zlati in srebrni, rok človeških dela,

The idols of the nations, are silver and gold, the work of the hands of men:

16 Usta imajo, ali ne govoré, oči, ali ne vidijo.

A mouth, have they, but they speak not, Eyes, have they, but they see not;

17 Ušesa imajo, ali ne slišijo; tudi sape ni nič v njih ustih.

Ears, have they, but they hear not, Nose, —there is no breath in their mouth.

18 Podobni njim bodejo, kateri jih delajo; kdorkoli vanje zaupa.

Like unto them, shall be they who make them, every one who trusteth in them.

19 Hiša Izraelova, blagoslavljajte Gospoda! hiša Aronova, blagoslavljajte Gospoda!

O house of Israel! bless Yahweh, O house of Aaron! bless Yahweh;

20 Hiša Levijeva, blagoslavljajte Gospoda; Gospoda boječi se, blagoslavljajte Gospoda;

O house of Levi! bless Yahweh, Ye that revere Yahweh! bless Yahweh.

21 "Slava Gospodu sè Sijona, ki prebiva v Jeruzalemu! Aleluja!"

Blessed be Yahweh out of Zion, Who inhabiteth Jerusalem, Praise ye Yah!
