Первое послание к Коринфянам 13
1 Аще языки человеческими глаголю и ангелскими, любве же не имам, бых (яко) медь звенящи, или кимвал звяцаяй.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 И аще имам пророчество, и вем тайны вся и весь разум, и аще имам всю веру, яко и горы преставляти, любве же не имам, ничтоже есмь.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 И аще раздам вся имения моя, и аще предам тело мое, во еже сжещи е, любве же не имам, ни кая польза ми есть.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing.
4 Любы долготерпит, милосердствует, любы не завидит, любы не превозносится, не гордится,
Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity brags not itself, is not puffed up,
5 не безчинствует, не ищет своих си, не раздражается, не мыслит зла,
Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
6 не радуется о неправде, радуется же о истине:
Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 вся любит, всему веру емлет, вся уповает, вся терпит.
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Любы николиже отпадает, аще же пророчествия упразднятся, аще ли языцы умолкнут, аще разум испразднится.
Charity never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 От части бо разумеваем и от части пророчествуем:
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 егда же приидет совершенное, тогда, еже от части, упразднится.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 Егда бех младенец, яко младенец глаголах, яко младенец мудрствовах, яко младенец смышлях: егда же бых муж, отвергох младенческая.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 Видим убо ныне якоже зерцалом в гадании, тогда же лицем к лицу: ныне разумею от части, тогда же познаю, якоже и познан бых.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 Ныне же пребывают вера, надежда, любы, три сия: болши же сих любы.
And now stays faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
