2 Књига о царевима 18
1 А треће године царовања Осије сина Илиног над Израиљем зацари се Језекија син Ахазов над Јудом.
Now in the third yeere of Hoshea, sonne of Elah King of Israel, Hezekiah the sonne of Ahaz king of Iudah began to reigne.
2 Беше му двадесет и пет година кад поче царовати, и царова двадесет и девет година у Јерусалиму. Матери му беше име Авија, кћи Захаријина.
He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twenty yeere in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Abi the daughter of Zachariah,
3 И чињаше што је право пред Господом сасвим као што је чинио Давид, отац његов.
And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Dauid his father had done.
4 Он обори висине, и изломи ликове и исече лугове, и разби змију од бронзе, коју беше начинио Мојсије, јер јој до тада кађаху синови Израиљеви; и прозва је Неустан.
He tooke away the hie places, and brake the images, and cut downe the groues, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for vnto those dayes the children of Israel did burne incense to it, and hee called it Nehushtan.
5 Уздаше се у Господа Бога Израиљевог, и не би таквог између свих царева Јудиних после њега ни пре њега.
He trusted in the Lord God of Israel: so that after him was none like him among all the Kings of Iudah, neither were there any such before him.
6 Јер приону за Господа, не одступи од Њега, него држа заповести које заповеди Господ Мојсију.
For he claue to the Lord, and departed not from him, but kept his commandements, which the Lord had commanded Moses.
7 И Господ беше с њим; куда год иђаше напредоваше; и одметну се од цара асирског, те му не би слуга.
So the Lord was with him, and he prospered in all thinges, which he tooke in hande: also he rebelled against the King of Asshur, and serued him not.
8 Он поби Филистеје до Газе и међе њене, од куле стражарске до града озиданог.
He smote the Philistims vnto Azzah, and the coastes thereof, from the watch towre vnto the defensed citie.
9 А четврте године царовања Језекијиног, а то је седма година царовања Осије сина Илиног над Израиљем, подиже се Салманасар цар асирски на Самарију, и опколи је.
And in the fourth yere of King Hezekiah, (which was the seuenth yeere of Hoshea sonne of Elah King of Israel) Shalmaneser King of Asshur came vp against Samaria, and besieged it.
10 И после три године узе је; шесте године царовања Језекијиног, а девете године царовања Осијиног над Израиљем, би узета Самарија.
And after three yeeres they tooke it, euen in the sixt yeere of Hezekiah: that is, the ninth yeere of Hoshea King of Israel was Samaria taken.
11 И одведе цар асирски Израиљце у Асирију и насели их у Алају и у Авору на води Гозану и по градовима мидским.
Then the King of Asshur did carry away Israel vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah and in Habor, by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,
12 Јер не слушаше глас Господа Бога свог и преступаше завет Његов, све што им је заповедио Мојсије слуга Господњи, не слушаше нити творише.
Because they woulde not obey the voyce of the Lord their God, but transgressed his couenant: that is, all that Moses the seruant of the Lord had commanded, and would neyther obey nor doe them.
13 А четрнаесте године царовања Језекијиног подиже се Сенахирим, цар асирски на све тврде градове Јудине, и узе их.
Moreouer, in the fourteenth yeere of King Hezekiah, Saneherib King of Asshur came vp against all the strong cities of Iudah, and tooke them.
14 Тада Језекија, цар Јудин посла у Лахис к цару асирском и поручи му: Згрешио сам; врати се од мене, шта год наметнеш на ме носићу. А цар асирски наметну на Језекију, цара Јудиног, триста таланата сребра и тридесет таланата злата.
Then Hezekiah King of Iudah sent vnto the King of Asshur to Lachish, saying, I haue offended: depart from me, and what thou layest vpon me, I wil beare it. And the King of Asshur appoynted vnto Hezekiah King of Iudah three hudreth talents of siluer, and thirty talets of golde.
15 И даде цар Језекија све сребро што се нађе у дому Господњем и у ризницама царског двора.
Therefore Hezekiah gaue all the siluer that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house.
16 У то време цар Језекија раскопа врата на цркви Господњој и прагове које сам беше оковао, и даде цару асирском.
At the same season did Hezekiah pul off the plates of the doores of the Temple of the Lord, and the pillars (which the sayd Hezekiah King of Iudah had couered ouer) and gaue them to the King of Asshur.
17 Али цар асирски посла Тартана и Равсариса и Равсака из Лахиса к цару Језекији у Јерусалим с великом војском; и они се подигоше и дођоше у Јерусалим; и подигавши се и дошавши стадоше код јаза горњег језера, који је покрај пута у пољу бељаревом.
And the King of Asshur sent Tartan, and Rab-saris, and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great hoste against Ierusalem. And they went vp, and came to Ierusalem, and when they were come vp, they stood by the conduite of the vpper poole, which is by the path of the fullers fielde,
18 И стадоше викати цара. Тада дође к њима Елијаким, син Хелкијин, који беше над двором и Сомна писар и Јоах син Асафов, паметар.
And called to the King. Then came out to them Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder.
19 И рече им Равсак: Кажите цару Језекији: Овако каже велики цар, цар асирски: Каква је то узданица, у коју се уздаш?
And Rabshakeh sayde vnto them, Tell ye Hezekiah, I pray you, Thus saith the great King, euen the great King of Asshur, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
20 Ти велиш, али су празне речи, да имаш савета и силе за рат. У шта се дакле уздаш, те си се одметнуо од мене?
Thou thinkest, Surely I haue eloquence, but counsell and strength are for the warre. On whom then doest thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
21 Гле, уздаш се у Мисир, у штап од трске сломљене, на који ако се ко наслони, ући ће му у руку и пробошће је; такав је Фараон цар мисирски свима који се уздају у њ.
Lo, thou trustest now in this broken staffe of reede, to wit, on Egypt, on which if a man leane, it will goe into his hand, and pearce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt vnto all that trust on him.
22 Ако ли ми кажете: Уздамо се у Господа Бога свог; није ли то онај чије је висине и олтаре оборио Језекија и заповедио Јуди и Јерусалиму: Пред овим олтаром клањајте се у Јерусалиму.
But if ye say vnto me, We trust in the Lord our God, is not that he whose hie places, and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath sayd to Iudah and Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Ierusalem?
23 Хајде, затеци се мом господару, цару асирском; и даћу ти две хиљаде коња, ако можеш добавити који ће јахати на њима.
Now therefore giue hostages to my lord the King of Asshur, and I will giue thee two thousand horses, if thou be able to set riders vpon them.
24 Како ћеш дакле одбити и једног војводу између најмањих слугу господара мог? Али се ти уздаш у Мисир за кола и коњике.
For how canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my masters seruants, and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and horsemen?
25 Сврх тога, еда ли сам ја без Господа дошао на ово место да га затрем? Господ ми је рекао: Иди на ту земљу, и затри је.
Am I now come vp without the Lord to this place, to destroy it? the Lord sayd to me, Goe vp against this land, and destroy it.
26 Тада Елијаким, син Хелкијин и Сомна и Јоах рекоше Равсаку: Говори слугама својим сирски, јер разумемо, а немој нам говорити јудејски да слуша народ на зиду.
Then Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Ioah said vnto Rabshakeh, Speake I pray thee, to thy seruants in the Aramites language, for we vnderstand it, and talke not with vs in the Iewes tongue, in the audience of the people that are on the wall.
27 А Равсак им рече: Еда ли ме је господар мој послао ка господару твом или к теби да кажем ове речи? Није ли к тим људима, што седе на зиду, да једу своју нечист и да пију своју мокраћу с вама?
But Rabshakeh saide vnto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speake these words, and not to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eate their owne doung, and drinke their owne pisse with you?
28 Тада стаде Равсак и повика гласно јудејски, и рече говорећи: Чујте реч великог цара, цара асирског.
So Rabshakeh stoode and cryed with a loude voyce in the Iewes language, and spake, saying, Heare the wordes of the great King, of the king of Asshur.
29 Овако каже цар: Немојте да вас вара Језекија; јер вас не може избавити из моје руке.
Thus sayth the King, Let not Hezekiah deceiue you: for he shall not be able to deliuer you out of mine hand.
30 Немојте да вас наговори Језекија да се поуздате у Господа, говорећи: Господ ће нас избавити, и овај се град неће дати у руке цару асирском.
Neither let Hezekiah make you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliuer vs, and this citie shall not be giuen ouer into the hand of the king of Asshur.
31 Не слушајте Језекије; јер овако каже цар асирски: Учините мир са мном, и ходите к мени па једите сваки са свог чокота и сваки са своје смокве, и пијте сваки из свог студенца.
Hearken not vnto Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Asshur, Make appointment with me, and come out to me, that euery man may eate of his owne vine, and euery man of his owne figge tree, and drinke euery man of the water of his owne well,
32 Докле не дођем и однесем вас у земљу као што је ваша, у земљу обилну житом и вином, у земљу обилну хлебом и виноградима, у земљу обилну маслином и уљем и медом, па ћете живети и нећете изгинути. Не слушајте Језекије, јер вас вара говорећи: Господ ће нас избавити.
Till I come, and bring you to a land like your owne land, euen a land of wheate and wine, a land of bread and vineyardes, a lande of oliues oyle, and hony, that ye may liue and not die: and obey not Hezekiah, for he deceiueth you, saying, The Lord will deliuer vs.
33 Је ли који између богова других народа избавио своју земљу из руке цара асирског?
Hath any of the gods of the nations deliuered his lande out of the hand of the King of Asshur?
34 Где су богови ематски и арфадски? Где су богови сефарвимски, енски и авски? Јесу ли избавили Самарију из мојих руку?
Where is the god of Hamah, and of Arpad? where is the god of Sepharuaim, Hena and Iuah? how haue they deliuered Samaria out of mine hand?
35 Који су између свих богова ових земаља избавили земљу своју из моје руке? А Господ ће избавити Јерусалим из моје руке?
Who are they among all the gods of the nations, that haue deliuered their lande out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliuer Ierusalem out of mine hand?
36 Али народ ћуташе, и не одговорише му ни речи, јер цар беше заповедио и рекао: Не одговарајте му.
But the people helde their peace, and answered not him a worde: for the Kings commandement was, saying, Answere ye him not.
37 Тада Елијаким, син Хелкијин, који беше над двором и Сомна писар и Јоах син Асафов, паметар, дођоше к Језекији раздрвши хаљине, и казаше му речи Равсакове.
Then Eliakim, the sonne of Hilkiah which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder came to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and tolde him the wordes of Rabshakeh.
