Titu 2

1 A ti govori što pristoji zdravoj nauci:

But say the things which fit sound doctrine,

2 Starcima da budu trijezni, pošteni, èisti, zdravi u vjeri, u ljubavi, u trpljenju;

that older men should be sober-minded, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

3 Staricama takoðer da žive kao što se pristoji svetima, da ne budu opadljive, da se ne predaju vrlo vinu, da uèe dobru,

and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;

4 Da uèe mlade da ljube muževe, da ljube djecu,

that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 Da budu poštene, èiste, dobre kuæanice, blage, pokorne svojijem muževima, da se ne huli na rijeè Božiju.

to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and being subject to their own husbands, so that God's word may not be discredited.

6 Tako i mladiæe svjetuj da budu pošteni.

Likewise, exhort the younger men to be self-controlled;

7 A u svemu sam sebe podaji za ugled dobrijeh djela, u nauci cijelost, poštenje,

in all things showing yourself an example of good works. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness,

8 Rijeè zdravu, nezazornu: da se posrami onaj koji se protivi, ne imajuæi ništa zlo govoriti za nas.

and a sound message that cannot be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.

9 Sluge da slušaju svoje gospodare, da budu ugodni u svaèemu, da ne odgovaraju,

Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;

10 Da ne kradu, nego u svaèemu da pokazuju dobru vjeru, da nauku spasitelja našega Boga ukrašuju u svaèemu.

not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.

11 Jer se pokaza blagodat Božija koja spasava sve ljude,

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people,

12 Uèeæi nas da se odreèemo bezbožnosti i želja ovoga svijeta, i da pošteno i pravedno i pobožno poživimo na ovome svijetu, (aiōn g165)

instructing us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age; (aiōn g165)

13 Èekajuæi blažena nada i javljenja slave velikoga Boga i spasa našega Isusa Hrista,

looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus (the) Messiah;

14 Koji je dao sebe za nas da nas izbavi od svakoga bezakonja, i da oèisti sebi narod izbrani koji èezne za dobrijem djelima.

who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

15 Ovo govori, i svjetuj, i karaj sa svakom zapoviješæu da te niko ne prezire.

Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one despise you.
