Postanak 23
1 A poživje Sara sto i dvadeset i sedam godina; to su godine vijeka Sarina;
And the life of Sarrha was an hundred and twenty-seven years.
2 I umrije Sara u Kirijat-Arvi, a to je Hevron, u zemlji Hananskoj. I doðe Avram da ožali Saru i oplaèe.
And Sarrha died in the city of Arboc, which is in the valley, this is Chebron in the land of Chanaan; and Abraam came to lament for Sarrha and to mourn.
3 A kad usta Avram od mrtvaca svojega, reèe sinovima Hetovijem govoreæi:
And Abraam stood up from before his dead; and Abraam spoke to the sons of Chet, saying,
4 Stranac sam i došljak kod vas; dajte mi da imam grob kod vas da pogrebem mrtvaca svojega ispred oèiju svojih.
I am a sojourner and a stranger among you, give me therefore possession of a burying-place among you, and I will bury my dead away from me.
5 A sinovi Hetovi odgovoriše Avramu govoreæi mu:
And the sons of Chet answered to Abraam, saying, Not so, Sir,
6 Èuj nas, gospodaru; ti si knez od Boga meðu nama; u najboljem grobu našem pogrebi mrtvaca svojega; niko izmeðu nas neæe ti zatvoriti groba svojega da ne pogrebeš mrtvaca svojega.
but hear us; you are in the midst of us a king from God; bury your dead in our choice sepulchres, for not one of us will by any means withhold his sepulchre from you, so that you should not bury your dead there.
7 Tada usta Avram i pokloni se narodu zemlje one, sinovima Hetovijem;
And Abraam rose up and did obeisance to the people of the land, to the sons of Chet.
8 I reèe im govoreæi: ako hoæete da pogrebem mrtvaca svojega ispred oèiju svojih, poslušajte me, i govorite za mene Efronu sinu Sarovu,
And Abraam spoke to them, saying, If you have it in your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight, listen to me, and speak for me to Ephron the son Saar.
9 Neka mi da peæinu u Makpeli, koja je nakraj njive njegove; za novce neka mi je da meðu vama koliko vrijedi, da imam grob.
And let him give me the double cave which he has, which is in a part of his field, let him give it me for the money it is worth for possession of a burying-place among you.
10 A Efron sjeðaše usred sinova Hetovijeh. Pa reèe Efron Hetejin Avramu pred sinovima Hetovijem, koji slušahu, pred svijem koji ulažahu na vrata grada njegova, govoreæi:
Now Ephron was sitting in the midst of the children of Chet, and Ephron the Chettite answered Abraam and spoke in the hearing of the sons of Chet, and of all who entered the city, saying,
11 Ne, gospodaru; èuj me: poklanjam ti njivu, i peæinu kod nje poklanjam ti; pred sinovima naroda svojega poklanjam ti je, pogrebi mrtvaca svojega.
Attend to me, my lord, and hear me, I give to you the field and the cave which is in it; I have given it you before all my country men; bury your dead.
12 A Avram se pokloni narodu zemlje one,
And Abraam did obeisance before the people of the land.
13 I reèe Efronu pred narodom zemlje one govoreæi: ako si voljan, èuj me; da ti dam šta vrijedi njiva, uzmi od mene, pa æu onda pogrepsti mrtvaca svojega ondje.
And he said in the ears of Ephron before the people of the land, Since you are on my side, hear me; take the price of the field from me, and I will bury my dead there.
14 A Efron odgovori Avramu govoreæi mu:
But Ephron answered Abraam, saying,
15 Gospodaru, èuj me; zemlja vrijedi èetiri stotine sikala srebra izmeðu mene i tebe; šta je to? samo ti pogrebi mrtvaca svojega.
Nay, my lord, I have heard indeed, the land [is worth] four hundred silver didrachmas, but what can this be between me and you? nay, do you bury your dead.
16 A Avram èuvši Efrona izmjeri mu srebro, koje reèe pred sinovima Hetovijem, èetiri stotine sikala srebra, kako su išli meðu trgovcima.
And Abraam listened to Ephron, and Abraam rendered to Ephron the money, which he mentioned in the ears of the sons of Chet, four hundred didrachmas of silver approved with merchants.
17 I njiva Efronova u Makpeli prema Mamriji, njiva s peæinom koja je na njoj, i sva drveta na njivi i po meði njezinoj unaokolo,
And the field of Ephron, which was in Double Cave, which is opposite Mambre, the field and the cave, which was in it, and every tree which was in the field, and whatever is in its borders round about, were made sure in its borders round about, were made sure
18 Posta Avramova pred sinovima Hetovijem, pred svjema koji ulaze na vrata grada onoga.
to Abraam for a possession, before the sons of Chet, and all that entered into the city.
19 Potom pogrebe Avram Saru ženu svoju u peæini na njivi Makpeli prema Mamriji, a to je Hevron, u zemlji Hananskoj.
After this Abraam buried Sarrha his wife in the Double Cave of the field, which is opposite Mambre, this is Chebron in the land of Chanaan.
20 I potvrdiše sinovi Hetovi njivu i peæinu na njoj Avramu da ima grob.
So the field and the cave which was in it were made sure to Abraam for possession of a burying place, by the sons of Chet.
