ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਾਃ 8
1 ਤਸ੍ਯ ਹਤ੍ਯਾਕਰਣੰ ਸ਼ੌਲੋਪਿ ਸਮਮਨ੍ਯਤ| ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸਮਯੇ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਨਗਰਸ੍ਥਾਂ ਮਣ੍ਡਲੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮਹਾਤਾਡਨਾਯਾਂ ਜਾਤਾਯਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਹਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ(ਅ)ਪਰੇ ਯਿਹੂਦਾਸ਼ੋਮਿਰੋਣਦੇਸ਼ਯੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਨਾਸ੍ਥਾਨੇ ਵਿਕੀਰ੍ਣਾਃ ਸਨ੍ਤੋ ਗਤਾਃ|
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 ਅਨ੍ਯੱਚ ਭਕ੍ਤਲੋਕਾਸ੍ਤੰ ਸ੍ਤਿਫਾਨੰ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਸ੍ਥਾਪਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਹੁ ਵ੍ਯਲਪਨ੍|
And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ਼ੌਲੋ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੇ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਤ੍ਰਿਯਃ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾਂਸ਼੍ਚ ਧ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਕਾਰਾਯਾਂ ਬੱਧ੍ਵਾ ਮਣ੍ਡਲ੍ਯਾ ਮਹੋਤ੍ਪਾਤੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍|
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 ਅਨ੍ਯੱਚ ਯੇ ਵਿਕੀਰ੍ਣਾ ਅਭਵਨ੍ ਤੇ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਤ੍ਰ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਚਾਰਯਨ੍|
Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. (logos)
5 ਤਦਾ ਫਿਲਿਪਃ ਸ਼ੋਮਿਰੋਣ੍ਨਗਰੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਖ੍ਯਾਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਚਾਰਯਤ੍;
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 ਤਤੋ(ਅ)ਸ਼ੁਚਿ-ਭ੍ਰੁʼਤਗ੍ਰਸ੍ਤਲੋਕੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਭੂਤਾਸ਼੍ਚੀਤ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯਾਗੱਛਨ੍ ਤਥਾ ਬਹਵਃ ਪਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਘਾਤਿਨਃ ਖਞ੍ਜਾ ਲੋਕਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਥਾ ਅਭਵਨ੍|
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਲਾਕਾ ਈਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਚਰ੍ੱਯੰ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਨਿਸ਼ਮ੍ਯ ਚ ਸਰ੍ੱਵ ਏਕਚਿੱਤੀਭੂਯ ਤੇਨੋਕ੍ਤਾਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਮਨਾਂਸਿ ਨ੍ਯਦਧੁਃ|
For unclean spirits, (pneuma) crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 ਤਸ੍ਮਿੰਨਗਰੇ ਮਹਾਨਨ੍ਦਸ਼੍ਚਾਭਵਤ੍|
And there was great joy in that city.
9 ਤਤਃ ਪੂਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਤਸ੍ਮਿੰਨਗਰੇ ਸ਼ਿਮੋੰਨਾਮਾ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿੱਜਨੋ ਬਹ੍ਵੀ ਰ੍ਮਾਯਾਕ੍ਰਿਯਾਃ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵੰ ਕਞ੍ਚਨ ਮਹਾਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਚ੍ਯ ਸ਼ੋਮਿਰੋਣੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਮੋਹੰ ਜਨਯਾਮਾਸ|
But there was a certain man, called Simon, which in time past in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਸ ਮਾਨੁਸ਼਼ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਮਹਾਸ਼ਕ੍ਤਿਸ੍ਵਰੂਪ ਇਤ੍ਯੁਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਾਲਵ੍ਰੁʼੱਧਵਨਿਤਾਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਲਾਕਾਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਮਨਾਂਸਿ ਨ੍ਯਦਧੁਃ|
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 ਸ ਬਹੁਕਾਲਾਨ੍ ਮਾਯਾਵਿਕ੍ਰਿਯਯਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨ੍ ਅਤੀਵ ਮੋਹਯਾਞ੍ਚਕਾਰ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤੇ ਤੰ ਮੇਨਿਰੇ|
And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਰਾਜ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਨਾਮ੍ਨਸ਼੍ਚਾਖ੍ਯਾਨਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਿਣਃ ਫਿਲਿਪਸ੍ਯ ਕਥਾਯਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸ੍ਯ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੀਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ੋਭਯਲੋਕਾ ਮੱਜਿਤਾ ਅਭਵਨ੍|
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ੇ ਸ ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨਪਿ ਸ੍ਵਯੰ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੈਤ੍ ਤਤੋ ਮੱਜਿਤਃ ਸਨ੍ ਫਿਲਿਪੇਨ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਾਮ੍ ਆਸ਼੍ਚਰ੍ੱਯਕ੍ਰਿਯਾਂ ਲਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣਞ੍ਚ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯਾਸਮ੍ਭਵੰ ਮਨ੍ਯਮਾਨਸ੍ਤੇਨ ਸਹ ਸ੍ਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 ਇੱਥੰ ਸ਼ੋਮਿਰੋਣ੍ਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਲੋਕਾ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਕਥਾਮ੍ ਅਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲਨ੍ ਇਤਿ ਵਾਰ੍ੱਤਾਂ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਨਗਰਸ੍ਥਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਪਿਤਰੰ ਯੋਹਨਞ੍ਚ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਨਿਕਟੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word (logos) of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 ਤਤਸ੍ਤੌ ਤਤ੍ ਸ੍ਥਾਨਮ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਲੋਕਾ ਯਥਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਮ੍ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਨੁਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਯੇਤਾਂ|
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: (pneuma)
16 ਯਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਪੁਰਾ ਕੇਵਲਪ੍ਰਭੁਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਮੱਜਿਤਮਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਭਵਨ੍, ਨ ਤੁ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਕਮਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਸ੍ਯਾਤ੍ਮਨ ਆਵਿਰ੍ਭਾਵੋ ਜਾਤਃ|
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਕਰੇਸ਼਼੍ਵਰ੍ਪਿਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸਤ੍ਸੁ ਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਮ੍ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਨਮ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਨੁਵਨ੍|
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
18 ਇੱਥੰ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਯੋਃ ਕਰਾਰ੍ਪਣੇਨ ਤਾਨ੍ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਮ੍ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾ ਸ ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨ੍ ਤਯੋਃ ਸਮੀਪੇ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾ ਆਨੀਯ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍;
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit (pneuma) was given, he offered them money,
19 ਅਹੰ ਯਸ੍ਯ ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇ ਹਸ੍ਤਮ੍ ਅਰ੍ਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਪਿ ਯਥੇੱਥੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾਤ੍ਮਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤਿ ਰ੍ਭਵਤਿ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀਂ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਤਿੰ ਮਹ੍ਯੰ ਦੱਤੰ|
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
20 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪਿਤਰਸ੍ਤੰ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਦਤ੍ ਤਵ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਸ੍ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਵਿਨਸ਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਤ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਦਾਨੰ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਭਿਃ ਕ੍ਰੀਯਤੇ ਤ੍ਵਮਿੱਥੰ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ੍;
But Peter said unto him, Your money perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਯ ਤਾਵਨ੍ਤਃਕਰਣੰ ਸਰਲੰ ਨਹਿ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਅਤ੍ਰ ਤਵਾਂਸ਼ੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਕਾਰਸ਼੍ਚ ਕੋਪਿ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ|
You have neither part nor lot in this matter: (logos) for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 ਅਤ ਏਤਤ੍ਪਾਪਹੇਤੋਃ ਖੇਦਾਨ੍ਵਿਤਃ ਸਨ੍ ਕੇਨਾਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੇਣ ਤਵ ਮਨਸ ਏਤਸ੍ਯਾਃ ਕੁਕਲ੍ਪਨਾਯਾਃ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਮਾ ਭਵਤਿ, ਏਤਦਰ੍ਥਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਨਾਂ ਕੁਰੁ;
Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 ਯਤਸ੍ਤ੍ਵੰ ਤਿਕ੍ਤਪਿੱਤੇ ਪਾਪਸ੍ਯ ਬਨ੍ਧਨੇ ਚ ਯਦਸਿ ਤਨ੍ਮਯਾ ਬੁੱਧਮ੍|
For I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 ਤਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨ੍ ਅਕਥਯਤ੍ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਯੁਵਾਭ੍ਯਾਮੁਦਿਤਾ ਕਥਾ ਮਯਿ ਯਥਾ ਨ ਫਲਤਿ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਯੁਵਾਂ ਮੰਨਿਮਿੱਤੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੌ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਨਾਂ ਕੁਰੁਤੰ|
Then answered Simon, and said, Pray all of you to the LORD for me, that none of these things which all of you have spoken come upon me.
25 ਅਨੇਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੇਣ ਤੌ ਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਦੱਤ੍ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੋਃ ਕਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਯਨ੍ਤੌ ਸ਼ੋਮਿਰੋਣੀਯਾਨਾਮ੍ ਅਨੇਕਗ੍ਰਾਮੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਞ੍ਚ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਯਨ੍ਤੌ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਨਗਰੰ ਪਰਾਵ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਗਤੌ|
And they, when they had testified and preached the word (logos) of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 ਤਤਃ ਪਰਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਦੂਤਃ ਫਿਲਿਪਮ੍ ਇਤ੍ਯਾਦਿਸ਼ਤ੍, ਤ੍ਵਮੁੱਥਾਯ ਦਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣਸ੍ਯਾਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਿ ਯੋ ਮਾਰ੍ਗੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਰਸ੍ਯ ਮਧ੍ਯੇਨ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮੋ (ਅ)ਸਾਨਗਰੰ ਯਾਤਿ ਤੰ ਮਾਰ੍ਗੰ ਗੱਛ|
And the angel of the Lord spoke unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goes down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 ਤਤਃ ਸ ਉੱਥਾਯ ਗਤਵਾਨ੍; ਤਦਾ ਕਨ੍ਦਾਕੀਨਾਮ੍ਨਃ ਕੂਸ਼੍ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਰਾਜ੍ਞ੍ਯਾਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਸਮ੍ਪੱਤੇਰਧੀਸ਼ਃ ਕੂਸ਼ਦੇਸ਼ੀਯ ਏਕਃ ਸ਼਼ਣ੍ਡੋ ਭਜਨਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਨਗਰਮ੍ ਆਗਤ੍ਯ
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem in order to worship,
28 ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਰਥਮਾਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਯਿਸ਼ਯਿਯਨਾਮ੍ਨੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨੋ ਗ੍ਰਨ੍ਥੰ ਪਠਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਾਗੱਛਤਿ|
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Isaiah the prophet.
29 ਏਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸਮਯੇ ਆਤ੍ਮਾ ਫਿਲਿਪਮ੍ ਅਵਦਤ੍, ਤ੍ਵਮ੍ ਰਥਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇਨ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧੰ ਮਿਲ|
Then the Spirit (pneuma) said unto Philip, Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.
30 ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਸ ਧਾਵਨ੍ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸੰਨਿਧਾਵੁਪਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਤੇਨ ਪਠ੍ਯਮਾਨੰ ਯਿਸ਼ਯਿਯਥਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨੋ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍ ਯਤ੍ ਪਠਸਿ ਤਤ੍ ਕਿੰ ਬੁਧ੍ਯਸੇ?
And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understand you what you read?
31 ਤਤਃ ਸ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਕੇਨਚਿੰਨ ਬੋਧਿਤੋਹੰ ਕਥੰ ਬੁਧ੍ਯੇਯ? ਤਤਃ ਸ ਫਿਲਿਪੰ ਰਥਮਾਰੋਢੁੰ ਸ੍ਵੇਨ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧਮ੍ ਉਪਵੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੁਞ੍ਚ ਨ੍ਯਵੇਦਯਤ੍|
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 ਸ ਸ਼ਾਸ੍ਤ੍ਰਸ੍ਯੇਤਦ੍ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਪਠਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯਥਾ, ਸਮਾਨੀਯਤ ਘਾਤਾਯ ਸ ਯਥਾ ਮੇਸ਼਼ਸ਼ਾਵਕਃ| ਲੋਮੱਛੇਦਕਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾੱਚ ਮੇਸ਼਼ਸ਼੍ਚ ਨੀਰਵੋ ਯਥਾ| ਆਬਧ੍ਯ ਵਦਨੰ ਸ੍ਵੀਯੰ ਤਥਾ ਸ ਸਮਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤ|
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 ਅਨ੍ਯਾਯੇਨ ਵਿਚਾਰੇਣ ਸ ਉੱਛਿੰਨੋ (ਅ)ਭਵਤ੍ ਤਦਾ| ਤਤ੍ਕਾਲੀਨਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਕੋ ਜਨੋ ਵਰ੍ਣਯਿਤੁੰ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਮਃ| ਯਤੋ ਜੀਵੰਨ੍ਰੁʼਣਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਤ੍ ਸ ਉੱਛਿੰਨੋ (ਅ)ਭਵਤ੍ ਧ੍ਰੁਵੰ|
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਸ ਫਿਲਿਪਮ੍ ਅਵਦਤ੍ ਨਿਵੇਦਯਾਮਿ, ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦੀ ਯਾਮਿਮਾਂ ਕਥਾਂ ਕਥਯਾਮਾਸ ਸ ਕਿੰ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਵਾ ਕਸ੍ਮਿੰਸ਼੍ਚਿਦ੍ ਅਨ੍ਯਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍?
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray you, of whom speaks the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 ਤਤਃ ਫਿਲਿਪਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਕਰਣਮ੍ ਆਰਭ੍ਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਰੁਪਾਖ੍ਯਾਨੰ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਗ੍ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਸ੍ਤੌਤ੍|
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 ਇੱਥੰ ਮਾਰ੍ਗੇਣ ਗੱਛਨ੍ਤੌ ਜਲਾਸ਼ਯਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤੌ; ਤਦਾ ਕ੍ਲੀਬੋ(ਅ)ਵਾਦੀਤ੍ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਾਤ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਥਾਨੇ ਜਲਮਾਸ੍ਤੇ ਮਮ ਮੱਜਨੇ ਕਾ ਬਾਧਾ?
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized?
37 ਤਤਃ ਫਿਲਿਪ ਉੱਤਰੰ ਵ੍ਯਾਹਰਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਾਨ੍ਤਃਕਰਣੇਨ ਸਾਕੰ ਯਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੇਸ਼਼ਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਬਾਧਾ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ| ਤਤਃ ਸ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਇਤ੍ਯਹੰ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੇਮਿ|
And Philip said, If you believe with all of your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 ਤਦਾ ਰਥੰ ਸ੍ਥਗਿਤੰ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁਮ੍ ਆਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟੇ ਫਿਲਿਪਕ੍ਲੀਬੌ ਦ੍ਵੌ ਜਲਮ੍ ਅਵਾਰੁਹਤਾਂ; ਤਦਾ ਫਿਲਿਪਸ੍ਤਮ੍ ਮੱਜਯਾਮਾਸ|
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 ਤਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਤ੍ ਜਲਮਧ੍ਯਾਦ੍ ਉੱਥਿਤਯੋਃ ਸਤੋਃ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯਾਤ੍ਮਾ ਫਿਲਿਪੰ ਹ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਨੀਤਵਾਨ੍, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਕ੍ਲੀਬਃ ਪੁਨਸ੍ਤੰ ਨ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍ ਤਥਾਪਿ ਹ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਚਿੱਤਃ ਸਨ੍ ਸ੍ਵਮਾਰ੍ਗੇਣ ਗਤਵਾਨ੍|
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit (pneuma) of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 ਫਿਲਿਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਸ੍ਦੋਦ੍ਨਗਰਮ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਕੈਸਰਿਯਾਨਗਰ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤਿਕਾਲਪਰ੍ੱਯਨਤੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਸ੍ਮਿੰਨਗਰੇ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੰ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਯਨ੍ ਗਤਵਾਨ੍|
But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
