പ്രേരിതാഃ 13

1 അപരഞ്ച ബർണബ്ബാഃ, ശിമോൻ യം നിഗ്രം വദന്തി, കുരീനീയലൂകിയോ ഹേരോദാ രാജ്ഞാ സഹ കൃതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസോ മിനഹേമ്, ശൗലശ്ചൈതേ യേ കിയന്തോ ജനാ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിന ഉപദേഷ്ടാരശ്ചാന്തിയഖിയാനഗരസ്ഥമണ്ഡല്യാമ് ആസൻ,

Now there were in the church at Antioch, several prophets and teachers; Barnabas, and Simon called Niger, and Lucius who was from the city Cyrene, and Menaen, a son of the guardians of Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul.

2 തേ യദോപവാസം കൃത്വേശ്വരമ് അസേവന്ത തസ്മിൻ സമയേ പവിത്ര ആത്മാ കഥിതവാൻ അഹം യസ്മിൻ കർമ്മണി ബർണബ്ബാശൈലൗ നിയുക്തവാൻ തത്കർമ്മ കർത്തും തൗ പൃഥക് കുരുത|

And while they were fasting and making supplication to God, the Holy Spirit said to them: Separate to me Saul and Barnabas, for the work to which I have called them.

3 തതസ്തൈരുപവാസപ്രാർഥനയോഃ കൃതയോഃ സതോസ്തേ തയോ ർഗാത്രയോ ർഹസ്താർപണം കൃത്വാ തൗ വ്യസൃജൻ|

And after they had fasted and prayed, they laid the hand on them, and sent them away.

4 തതഃ പരം തൗ പവിത്രേണാത്മനാ പ്രേരിതൗ സന്തൗ സിലൂകിയാനഗരമ് ഉപസ്ഥായ സമുദ്രപഥേന കുപ്രോപദ്വീപമ് അഗച്ഛതാം|

And they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they went by sea as far as Cyprus.

5 തതഃ സാലാമീനഗരമ് ഉപസ്ഥായ തത്ര യിഹൂദീയാനാം ഭജനഭവനാനി ഗത്വേശ്വരസ്യ കഥാം പ്രാചാരയതാം; യോഹനപി തത്സഹചരോഽഭവത്|

And when they entered the city of Salamis, they announced the word of our Lord in the synagogues of the Jews. And John ministered to them.

6 ഇത്ഥം തേ തസ്യോപദ്വീപസ്യ സർവ്വത്ര ഭ്രമന്തഃ പാഫനഗരമ് ഉപസ്ഥിതാഃ; തത്ര സുവിവേചകേന സർജിയപൗലനാമ്നാ തദ്ദേശാധിപതിനാ സഹ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനോ വേശധാരീ ബര്യീശുനാമാ യോ മായാവീ യിഹൂദീ ആസീത് തം സാക്ഷാത് പ്രാപ്തവതഃ|

And when they had travelled over the whole island as far as the city Paphos, they found a certain man, a sorcerer, a Jew, who was a false prophet, and whose name was Bar-Suma.

7 തദ്ദേശാധിപ ഈശ്വരസ്യ കഥാം ശ്രോതും വാഞ്ഛൻ പൗലബർണബ്ബൗ ന്യമന്ത്രയത്|

He adhered to a wise man, who was the proconsul, and was called Sergius Paulus. And the proconsul sent for Saul and Barnabas, and requested to hear from them the word of God.

8 കിന്ത്വിലുമാ യം മായാവിനം വദന്തി സ ദേശാധിപതിം ധർമ്മമാർഗാദ് ബഹിർഭൂതം കർത്തുമ് അയതത|

And this sorcerer, Bar-Suma, (whose name is interpreted, Elymas, ) withstood them; because he wished to divert the proconsul from the faith.

9 തസ്മാത് ശോലോഽർഥാത് പൗലഃ പവിത്രേണാത്മനാ പരിപൂർണഃ സൻ തം മായാവിനം പ്രത്യനന്യദൃഷ്ടിം കൃത്വാകഥയത്,

And Saul who is called Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit; and he looked upon him,

10 ഹേ നരകിൻ ധർമ്മദ്വേഷിൻ കൗടില്യദുഷ്കർമ്മപരിപൂർണ, ത്വം കിം പ്രഭോഃ സത്യപഥസ്യ വിപര്യ്യയകരണാത് കദാപി ന നിവർത്തിഷ്യസേ?

and said: O thou full of all subtilties, and all mischiefs, thou child of the calumniator, and enemy of all righteousness; wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

11 അധുനാ പരമേശ്വരസ്തവ സമുചിതം കരിഷ്യതി തേന കതിപയദിനാനി ത്വമ് അന്ധഃ സൻ സൂര്യ്യമപി ന ദ്രക്ഷ്യസി| തത്ക്ഷണാദ് രാത്രിവദ് അന്ധകാരസ്തസ്യ ദൃഷ്ടിമ് ആച്ഛാദിതവാൻ; തസ്മാത് തസ്യ ഹസ്തം ധർത്തും സ ലോകമന്വിച്ഛൻ ഇതസ്തതോ ഭ്രമണം കൃതവാൻ|

And now, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, and shalt not see the sun for a time. And immediately there fell upon him a mist and darkness; and he went about, inquiring who would take him by the hand.

12 ഏനാം ഘടനാം ദൃഷ്ട്വാ സ ദേശാധിപതിഃ പ്രഭൂപദേശാദ് വിസ്മിത്യ വിശ്വാസം കൃതവാൻ|

And when the proconsul saw what occurred, he was astonished; and he believed the doctrine of the Lord.

13 തദനന്തരം പൗലസ്തത്സങ്ഗിനൗ ച പാഫനഗരാത് പ്രോതം ചാലയിത്വാ പമ്ഫുലിയാദേശസ്യ പർഗീനഗരമ് അഗച്ഛൻ കിന്തു യോഹൻ തയോഃ സമീപാദ് ഏത്യ യിരൂശാലമം പ്രത്യാഗച്ഛത്|

And Paul and Barnabas went by sea, from the city of Paphos, and came to Perga, a city of Pamphylia. And John separated from them, and went away to Jerusalem.

14 പശ്ചാത് തൗ പർഗീതോ യാത്രാം കൃത്വാ പിസിദിയാദേശസ്യ ആന്തിയഖിയാനഗരമ് ഉപസ്ഥായ വിശ്രാമവാരേ ഭജനഭവനം പ്രവിശ്യ സമുപാവിശതാം|

And they departed from Perga, and came to Antioch, a city of Pisidia: and they entered the synagogue, on the sabbath day, and sat down.

15 വ്യവസ്ഥാഭവിഷ്യദ്വാക്യയോഃ പഠിതയോഃ സതോ ർഹേ ഭ്രാതരൗ ലോകാൻ പ്രതി യുവയോഃ കാചിദ് ഉപദേശകഥാ യദ്യസ്തി തർഹി താം വദതം തൗ പ്രതി തസ്യ ഭജനഭവനസ്യാധിപതയഃ കഥാമ് ഏതാം കഥയിത്വാ പ്രൈഷയൻ|

And after the law had been read, and the prophets, the Elders of the synagogue sent to them, and said: Men, brethren, if ye have a word of exhortation, address the people.

16 അതഃ പൗല ഉത്തിഷ്ഠൻ ഹസ്തേന സങ്കേതം കുർവ്വൻ കഥിതവാൻ ഹേ ഇസ്രായേലീയമനുഷ്യാ ഈശ്വരപരായണാഃ സർവ്വേ ലോകാ യൂയമ് അവധദ്ധം|

And Paul arose, and waved his hand, and said: Men, sons of Israel, and ye that fear God, hear ye.

17 ഏതേഷാമിസ്രായേല്ലോകാനാമ് ഈശ്വരോഽസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപരുഷാൻ മനോനീതാൻ കത്വാ ഗൃഹീതവാൻ തതോ മിസരി ദേശേ പ്രവസനകാലേ തേഷാമുന്നതിം കൃത്വാ തസ്മാത് സ്വീയബാഹുബലേന താൻ ബഹിഃ കൃത്വാ സമാനയത്|

The God of this people chose our fathers, and raised them up, and multiplied them, when they resided in the land of Egypt; and, with a high arm, he brought them out of it.

18 ചത്വാരിംശദ്വത്സരാൻ യാവച്ച മഹാപ്രാന്തരേ തേഷാം ഭരണം കൃത്വാ

And he fed them in the wilderness forty years.

19 കിനാന്ദേശാന്തർവ്വർത്തീണി സപ്തരാജ്യാനി നാശയിത്വാ ഗുടികാപാതേന തേഷു സർവ്വദേശേഷു തേഭ്യോഽധികാരം ദത്തവാൻ|

And he extirpated seven nations in the land of Canaan, and gave them their land for an inheritance.

20 പഞ്ചാശദധികചതുഃശതേഷു വത്സരേഷു ഗതേഷു ച ശിമൂയേൽഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിപര്യ്യന്തം തേഷാമുപരി വിചാരയിതൃൻ നിയുക്തവാൻ|

And for four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges, until Samuel the prophet.

21 തൈശ്ച രാജ്ഞി പ്രാർഥിതേ, ഈശ്വരോ ബിന്യാമീനോ വംശജാതസ്യ കീശഃ പുത്രം ശൗലം ചത്വാരിംശദ്വർഷപര്യ്യന്തം തേഷാമുപരി രാജാനം കൃതവാൻ|

And then they asked for themselves a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, during forty years.

22 പശ്ചാത് തം പദച്യുതം കൃത്വാ യോ മദിഷ്ടക്രിയാഃ സർവ്വാഃ കരിഷ്യതി താദൃശം മമ മനോഭിമതമ് ഏകം ജനം യിശയഃ പുത്രം ദായൂദം പ്രാപ്തവാൻ ഇദം പ്രമാണം യസ്മിൻ ദായൂദി സ ദത്തവാൻ തം ദായൂദം തേഷാമുപരി രാജത്വം കർത്തുമ് ഉത്പാദിതവാന|

And he removed him, and raised up to them David as king: and he testified of him, and said: I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart: he will do all my pleasure.

23 തസ്യ സ്വപ്രതിശ്രുതസ്യ വാക്യസ്യാനുസാരേണ ഇസ്രായേല്ലോകാനാം നിമിത്തം തേഷാം മനുഷ്യാണാം വംശാദ് ഈശ്വര ഏകം യീശും (ത്രാതാരമ്) ഉദപാദയത്|

From the seed of this man, hath God raised up to Israel, as he promised, Jesus a deliverer.

24 തസ്യ പ്രകാശനാത് പൂർവ്വം യോഹൻ ഇസ്രായേല്ലോകാനാം സന്നിധൗ മനഃപരാവർത്തനരൂപം മജ്ജനം പ്രാചാരയത്|

And, before his advent, he sent John to proclaim the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25 യസ്യ ച കർമ്മണോ ഭാരം പ്രപ്തവാൻ യോഹൻ തൻ നിഷ്പാദയൻ ഏതാം കഥാം കഥിതവാൻ, യൂയം മാം കം ജനം ജാനീഥ? അഹമ് അഭിഷിക്തത്രാതാ നഹി, കിന്തു പശ്യത യസ്യ പാദയോഃ പാദുകയോ ർബന്ധനേ മോചയിതുമപി യോഗ്യോ ന ഭവാമി താദൃശ ഏകോ ജനോ മമ പശ്ചാദ് ഉപതിഷ്ഠതി|

And while John was fulfilling his ministry, he said: Who, suppose ye, that I am? I am not he. But lo, he cometh after me; of whom I am not worthy to untie his shoe-strings.

26 ഹേ ഇബ്രാഹീമോ വംശജാതാ ഭ്രാതരോ ഹേ ഈശ്വരഭീതാഃ സർവ്വലോകാ യുഷ്മാൻ പ്രതി പരിത്രാണസ്യ കഥൈഷാ പ്രേരിതാ|

Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and all who, with you, fear God, to you is this word of life sent.

27 യിരൂശാലമ്നിവാസിനസ്തേഷാമ് അധിപതയശ്ച തസ്യ യീശോഃ പരിചയം ന പ്രാപ്യ പ്രതിവിശ്രാമവാരം പഠ്യമാനാനാം ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദികഥാനാമ് അഭിപ്രായമ് അബുദ്ധ്വാ ച തസ്യ വധേന താഃ കഥാഃ സഫലാ അകുർവ്വൻ|

For, those inhabitants of Jerusalem and their chiefs, did not apprehend it; neither did they apprehend also the writings of the prophets, which are read every sabbath; but they condemned him, and fulfilled all the things written.

28 പ്രാണഹനനസ്യ കമപി ഹേതുമ് അപ്രാപ്യാപി പീലാതസ്യ നികടേ തസ്യ വധം പ്രാർഥയന്ത|

And while they found no ground for his death, they desired of Pilate that they might kill him.

29 തസ്മിൻ യാഃ കഥാ ലിഖിതാഃ സന്തി തദനുസാരേണ കർമ്മ സമ്പാദ്യ തം ക്രുശാദ് അവതാര്യ്യ ശ്മശാനേ ശായിതവന്തഃ|

And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning him, they took him down from the cross, and laid him in a sepulchre.

30 കിന്ത്വീശ്വരഃ ശ്മശാനാത് തമുദസ്ഥാപയത്,

But God raised him from the dead.

31 പുനശ്ച ഗാലീലപ്രദേശാദ് യിരൂശാലമനഗരം തേന സാർദ്ധം യേ ലോകാ ആഗച്ഛൻ സ ബഹുദിനാനി തേഭ്യോ ദർശനം ദത്തവാൻ, അതസ്ത ഇദാനീം ലോകാൻ പ്രതി തസ്യ സാക്ഷിണഃ സന്തി|

And he was seen many days, by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem; and they are now his witnesses to the people.

32 അസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാണാം സമക്ഷമ് ഈശ്വരോ യസ്മിൻ പ്രതിജ്ഞാതവാൻ യഥാ, ത്വം മേ പുത്രോസി ചാദ്യ ത്വാം സമുത്ഥാപിതവാനഹമ്|

And lo, we also announce to you, that the promise, which was made to our fathers,

33 ഇദം യദ്വചനം ദ്വിതീയഗീതേ ലിഖിതമാസ്തേ തദ് യീശോരുത്ഥാനേന തേഷാം സന്താനാ യേ വയമ് അസ്മാകം സന്നിധൗ തേന പ്രത്യക്ഷീ കൃതം, യുഷ്മാൻ ഇമം സുസംവാദം ജ്ഞാപയാമി|

lo, God hath fulfilled it to us their children, in that he raised up Jesus; as it is written in the second psalm: Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

34 പരമേശ്വരേണ ശ്മശാനാദ് ഉത്ഥാപിതം തദീയം ശരീരം കദാപി ന ക്ഷേഷ്യതേ, ഏതസ്മിൻ സ സ്വയം കഥിതവാൻ യഥാ ദായൂദം പ്രതി പ്രതിജ്ഞാതോ യോ വരസ്തമഹം തുഭ്യം ദാസ്യാമി|

And God hath so raised him from the dead, that he will not return again and see corruption; as he said: I will give to you the sure grace of David.

35 ഏതദന്യസ്മിൻ ഗീതേഽപി കഥിതവാൻ| സ്വകീയം പുണ്യവന്തം ത്വം ക്ഷയിതും ന ച ദാസ്യസി|

And again he said, in another place: Thou hast not given thy devout one to see corruption.

36 ദായൂദാ ഈശ്വരാഭിമതസേവായൈ നിജായുഷി വ്യയിതേ സതി സ മഹാനിദ്രാം പ്രാപ്യ നിജൈഃ പൂർവ്വപുരുഷൈഃ സഹ മിലിതഃ സൻ അക്ഷീയത;

For David, in his generation, served the pleasure of God, and went to rest, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.

37 കിന്തു യമീശ്വരഃ ശ്മശാനാദ് ഉദസ്ഥാപയത് സ നാക്ഷീയത|

But this person, whom God raised up, did not see corruption.

38 അതോ ഹേ ഭ്രാതരഃ, അനേന ജനേന പാപമോചനം ഭവതീതി യുഷ്മാൻ പ്രതി പ്രചാരിതമ് ആസ്തേ|

Know therefore, brethren, that through this man remission of sins is proclaimed to you.

39 ഫലതോ മൂസാവ്യവസ്ഥയാ യൂയം യേഭ്യോ ദോഷേഭ്യോ മുക്താ ഭവിതും ന ശക്ഷ്യഥ തേഭ്യഃ സർവ്വദോഷേഭ്യ ഏതസ്മിൻ ജനേ വിശ്വാസിനഃ സർവ്വേ മുക്താ ഭവിഷ്യന്തീതി യുഷ്മാഭി ർജ്ഞായതാം|

And every one that believeth in this man, is made just from all things, from which ye could not be made just by the law of Moses.

40 അപരഞ്ച| അവജ്ഞാകാരിണോ ലോകാശ്ചക്ഷുരുന്മീല്യ പശ്യത| തഥൈവാസമ്ഭവം ജ്ഞാത്വാ സ്യാത യൂയം വിലജ്ജിതാഃ| യതോ യുഷ്മാസു തിഷ്ഠത്സു കരിഷ്യേ കർമ്മ താദൃശം| യേനൈവ തസ്യ വൃത്താന്തേ യുഷ്മഭ്യം കഥിതേഽപി ഹി| യൂയം ന തന്തു വൃത്താന്തം പ്രത്യേഷ്യഥ കദാചന||

Beware, therefore, lest that come upon you, which is written in the prophets:

41 യേയം കഥാ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനാം ഗ്രന്ഥേഷു ലിഖിതാസ്തേ സാവധാനാ ഭവത സ കഥാ യഥാ യുഷ്മാൻ പ്രതി ന ഘടതേ|

Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though a man relate it to you.

42 യിഹൂദീയഭജനഭവനാൻ നിർഗതയോസ്തയോ ർഭിന്നദേശീയൈ ർവക്ഷ്യമാണാ പ്രാർഥനാ കൃതാ, ആഗാമിനി വിശ്രാമവാരേഽപി കഥേയമ് അസ്മാൻ പ്രതി പ്രചാരിതാ ഭവത്വിതി|

And when they had gone from them, they besought them to speak the same things to them the next sabbath day.

43 സഭായാ ഭങ്ഗേ സതി ബഹവോ യിഹൂദീയലോകാ യിഹൂദീയമതഗ്രാഹിണോ ഭക്തലോകാശ്ച ബർണബ്ബാപൗലയോഃ പശ്ചാദ് ആഗച്ഛൻ, തേന തൗ തൈഃ സഹ നാനാകഥാഃ കഥയിത്വേശ്വരാനുഗ്രഹാശ്രയേ സ്ഥാതും താൻ പ്രാവർത്തയതാം|

And when the synagogue was dismissed, many Jews went after them, and likewise proselytes who feared God. And they conversed with them, and persuaded them to adhere to the grace of God.

44 പരവിശ്രാമവാരേ നഗരസ്യ പ്രായേണ സർവ്വേ ലാകാ ഈശ്വരീയാം കഥാം ശ്രോതും മിലിതാഃ,

And the next sabbath, the whole city assembled to hear the word of God.

45 കിന്തു യിഹൂദീയലോകാ ജനനിവഹം വിലോക്യ ഈർഷ്യയാ പരിപൂർണാഃ സന്തോ വിപരീതകഥാകഥനേനേശ്വരനിന്ദയാ ച പൗലേനോക്താം കഥാം ഖണ്ഡയിതും ചേഷ്ടിതവന്തഃ|

And when the Jews saw the great assembly, they were filled with envy, and set them selves against the words which Paul spoke, and blasphemed.

46 തതഃ പൗലബർണബ്ബാവക്ഷോഭൗ കഥിതവന്തൗ പ്രഥമം യുഷ്മാകം സന്നിധാവീശ്വരീയകഥായാഃ പ്രചാരണമ് ഉചിതമാസീത് കിന്തും തദഗ്രാഹ്യത്വകരണേന യൂയം സ്വാൻ അനന്തായുഷോഽയോഗ്യാൻ ദർശയഥ, ഏതത്കാരണാദ് വയമ് അന്യദേശീയലോകാനാം സമീപം ഗച്ഛാമഃ| (aiōnios g166)

And Paul and Barnabas said openly: To you first, ought the word of God to be spoken; but because ye repel it from you, and decide, against yourselves, that ye are not worthy of life eternal, lo, we turn ourselves to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)

47 പ്രഭുരസ്മാൻ ഇത്ഥമ് ആദിഷ്ടവാൻ യഥാ, യാവച്ച ജഗതഃ സീമാം ലോകാനാം ത്രാണകാരണാത്| മയാന്യദേശമധ്യേ ത്വം സ്ഥാപിതോ ഭൂഃ പ്രദീപവത്||

For so hath our Lord commanded us; as it is written: I have set thee a light to the Gentiles; that thou shouldst be for life unto the ends of the earth.

48 തദാ കഥാമീദൃശീം ശ്രുത്വാ ഭിന്നദേശീയാ ആഹ്ലാദിതാഃ സന്തഃ പ്രഭോഃ കഥാം ധന്യാം ധന്യാമ് അവദൻ, യാവന്തോ ലോകാശ്ച പരമായുഃ പ്രാപ്തിനിമിത്തം നിരൂപിതാ ആസൻ തേ വ്യശ്വസൻ| (aiōnios g166)

And when the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified God. And those believed, who were appointed to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

49 ഇത്ഥം പ്രഭോഃ കഥാ സർവ്വേദേശം വ്യാപ്നോത്|

And the word of the Lord was talked of in all that region.

50 കിന്തു യിഹൂദീയാ നഗരസ്യ പ്രധാനപുരുഷാൻ സമ്മാന്യാഃ കഥിപയാ ഭക്താ യോഷിതശ്ച കുപ്രവൃത്തിം ഗ്രാഹയിത്വാ പൗലബർണബ്ബൗ താഡയിത്വാ തസ്മാത് പ്രദേശാദ് ദൂരീകൃതവന്തഃ|

But the Jews stirred up the chiefs of the city, and the opulent women who with them feared God, and set up a persecution against Paul and against Barnabas, and expelled them from their borders.

51 അതഃ കാരണാത് തൗ നിജപദധൂലീസ്തേഷാം പ്രാതികൂല്യേന പാതയിത്വേകനിയം നഗരം ഗതൗ|

And when they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and went to the city of Iconium.

52 തതഃ ശിഷ്യഗണ ആനന്ദേന പവിത്രേണാത്മനാ ച പരിപൂർണോഭവത്|

And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.
