२ करिन्थिनः 8

1 हे भ्रातरः, माकिदनियादेशस्थासु समितिषु प्रकाशितो य ईश्वरस्यानुग्रहस्तमहं युष्मान् ज्ञापयामि।

And, brothers, we declare to you the grace of God that has been given in the congregations of Macedonia,

2 वस्तुतो बहुक्लेशपरीक्षासमये तेषां महानन्दोऽतीवदीनता च वदान्यतायाः प्रचुरफलम् अफलयतां।

that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy, even from the depth of their poverty, abounded for the wealth of their generosity,

3 ते स्वेच्छया यथाशक्ति किञ्चातिशक्ति दान उद्युक्ता अभवन् इति मया प्रमाणीक्रियते।

so that according to their ability, I testify, and beyond their ability, willingly,

4 वयञ्च यत् पवित्रलोकेभ्यस्तेषां दानम् उपकारार्थकम् अंशनञ्च गृह्लामस्तद् बहुनुनयेनास्मान् प्रार्थितवन्तः।

with much exhortation, begging of us the favor, even the fellowship of service for the sanctified.

5 वयं यादृक् प्रत्यै़क्षामहि तादृग् अकृत्वा तेऽग्रे प्रभवे ततः परम् ईश्वरस्येच्छयास्मभ्यमपि स्वान् न्यवेदयन्।

And it was not as we expected, but first they gave themselves to the Lord and to us through the will of God,

6 अतो हेतोस्त्वं यथारब्धवान् तथैव करिन्थिनां मध्येऽपि तद् दानग्रहणं साधयेति युष्मान् अधि वयं तीतं प्रार्थयामहि।

for us to urge Titus that, as he earlier began this kindness, so he would even finish it for you also.

7 अतो विश्वासो वाक्पटुता ज्ञानं सर्व्वोत्साहो ऽस्मासु प्रेम चैतै र्गुणै र्यूयं यथापरान् अतिशेध्वे तथैवैतेन गुणेनाप्यतिशेध्वं।

But as ye abound in everything, in faith, and word, and knowledge, and all diligence, and in your love to us, so that ye may also abound in this kindness.

8 एतद् अहम् आज्ञया कथयामीति नहि किन्त्वन्येषाम् उत्साहकारणाद् युष्माकमपि प्रेम्नः सारल्यं परीक्षितुमिच्छता मयैतत् कथ्यते।

I speak not from commandment, but because of the zeal of others, also examining the genuineness of your love.

9 यूयञ्चास्मत्प्रभो र्यीशुख्रीष्टस्यानुग्रहं जानीथ यतस्तस्य निर्धनत्वेन यूयं यद् धनिनो भवथ तदर्थं स धनी सन्नपि युष्मत्कृते निर्धनोऽभवत्।

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich he became poor for your sakes, so that by that man's poverty ye might become rich.

10 एतस्मिन् अहं युष्मान् स्वविचारं ज्ञापयामि। गतं संवत्सरम् आरभ्य यूयं केवलं कर्म्म कर्त्तं तन्नहि किन्त्विच्छुकतां प्रकाशयितुमप्युपाक्राभ्यध्वं ततो हेतो र्युष्मत्कृते मम मन्त्रणा भद्रा।

And in this I give judgment, for this is expedient for you who earlier began, from a year ago, not only the doing but also the intending.

11 अतो ऽधुना तत्कर्म्मसाधनं युष्माभिः क्रियतां तेन यद्वद् इच्छुकतायाम् उत्साहस्तद्वद् एकैकस्य सम्पदनुसारेण कर्म्मसाधनम् अपि जनिष्यते।

And now also finish the doing, so that just as was the willingness of the intending, so also to finish from the having.

12 यस्मिन् इच्छुकता विद्यते तेन यन्न धार्य्यते तस्मात् सोऽनुगृह्यत इति नहि किन्तु यद् धार्य्यते तस्मादेव।

For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable to the extent if some man has, not to the extent he does not have.

13 यत इतरेषां विरामेण युष्माकञ्च क्लेशेन भवितव्यं तन्नहि किन्तु समतयैव।

For it is not so that ease is for others and stress for you, but out of parity your abundance at the present time is for the need of those men.

14 वर्त्तमानसमये युष्माकं धनाधिक्येन तेषां धनन्यूनता पूरयितव्या तस्मात् तेषामप्याधिक्येन युष्माकं न्यूनता पूरयिष्यते तेन समता जनिष्यते।

So that the abundance of those men may also happen for your need, so that there may become equity,

15 तदेव शास्त्रेऽपि लिखितम् आस्ते यथा, येनाधिकं संगृहीतं तस्याधिकं नाभवत् येन चाल्पं संगृहीतं तस्याल्पं नाभवत्।

as it is written, he of much did not abound, and he of little did not lack.

16 युष्माकं हिताय तीतस्य मनसि य ईश्वर इमम् उद्योगं जनितवान् स धन्यो भवतु।

But thanks to God who gives the same eagerness for you in the heart of Titus.

17 तीतोऽस्माकं प्रार्थनां गृहीतवान् किञ्च स्वयम् उद्युक्तः सन् स्वेच्छया युष्मत्समीपं गतवान्।

Because he indeed accepted the exhortation, but his own will being more zealous, he went forth to you.

18 तेन सह योऽपर एको भ्रातास्माभिः प्रेषितः सुसंवादात् तस्य सुख्यात्या सर्व्वाः समितयो व्याप्ताः।

And we sent along with him the brother whose praise in the good news is throughout all the congregations.

19 प्रभो र्गौरवाय युष्माकम् इच्छुकतायै च स समितिभिरेतस्यै दानसेवायै अस्माकं सङ्गित्वे न्ययोज्यत।

And not only so, but who was also chosen by the congregations, a traveling companion of us with this gift administered by us, for the glory of the same Lord and our willingness.

20 यतो या महोपायनसेवास्माभि र्विधीयते तामधि वयं यत् केनापि न निन्द्यामहे तदर्थं यतामहे।

Arranging this lest any man may criticize us in this bounty administered by us,

21 यतः केवलं प्रभोः साक्षात् तन्नहि किन्तु मानवानामपि साक्षात् सदाचारं कर्त्तुम् आलोचामहे।

providing things right, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

22 ताभ्यां सहापर एको यो भ्रातास्माभिः प्रेषितः सोऽस्माभि र्बहुविषयेषु बहवारान् परीक्षित उद्योगीव प्रकाशितश्च किन्त्वधुना युष्मासु दृढविश्वासात् तस्योत्साहो बहु ववृधे।

And we sent along with them our brother whom we often proved being diligent in many things, but is now much more diligent (with much confidence toward you)

23 यदि कश्चित् तीतस्य तत्त्वं जिज्ञासते तर्हि स मम सहभागी युष्मन्मध्ये सहकारी च, अपरयो र्भ्रात्रोस्तत्त्वं वा यदि जिज्ञासते तर्हि तौ समितीनां दूतौ ख्रीष्टस्य प्रतिबिम्बौ चेति तेन ज्ञायतां।

whether on behalf of Titus my partner and co-workman for you, or our brothers, apostles of congregations, a glory of Christ.

24 अतो हेतोः समितीनां समक्षं युष्मत्प्रेम्नोऽस्माकं श्लाघायाश्च प्रामाण्यं तान् प्रति युष्माभिः प्रकाशयितव्यं।

Therefore show ye the proof of your love and our boast about you, for them in the face of the congregations.
