Второзаконие 2
1 И обратились мы и отправились в пустыню к Чермному морю, как говорил мне Господь, и много времени ходили вокруг горы Сеира.
And we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as Jehovah had said unto me; and we went round mount Seir many days.
2 И сказал мне Господь, говоря:
And Jehovah spoke to me, saying,
3 полно вам ходить вокруг этой горы, обратитесь к северу;
Ye have gone round this mountain long enough: turn you northward.
4 и народу дай повеление и скажи: вы будете проходить пределы братьев ваших, сынов Исавовых, живущих на Сеире, и они убоятся вас; но остерегайтесь
And command the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the border of your brethren the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you; and ye shall be very guarded:
5 начинать с ними войну, ибо Я не дам вам земли их ни на стопу ноги, потому что гору Сеир Я дал во владение Исаву;
attack them not; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot-breadth; for I have given mount Seir as a possession unto Esau.
6 пищу покупайте у них за серебро и ешьте; и воду покупайте у них за серебро и пейте;
Ye shall buy of them food for money, that ye may eat; and water shall ye also buy of them for money, that ye may drink;
7 ибо Господь, Бог твой, благословил тебя во всяком деле рук твоих, покровительствовал тебе во время путешествия твоего по великой и страшной пустыне сей; вот, сорок лет Господь, Бог твой, с тобою; ты ни в чем не терпел недостатка.
for Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand. He hath known thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years hath Jehovah thy God been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
8 И шли мы мимо братьев наших, сынов Исавовых, живущих на Сеире, путем равнины, от Елафа и Ецион-Гавера, и поворотили, и шли к пустыне Моава.
And we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, by the plain, by Elath, and by Ezion-geber, and we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
9 И сказал мне Господь: не вступай во вражду с Моавом и не начинай с ними войны; ибо Я не дам тебе ничего от земли его во владение, потому что Ар отдал Я во владение сынам Лотовым;
And Jehovah said to me, Distress not the Moabites, neither engage with them in battle; for I will not give thee of their land a possession; for unto the children of Lot have I given Ar as a possession.
10 прежде жили там Эмимы, народ великий, многочисленный и высокий, как сыны Енаковы,
(The Emim dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall as the Anakim.
11 и они считались между Рефаимами, как сыны Енаковы; Моавитяне же называют их Эмимами;
They also are reckoned as giants like the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.
12 а на Сеире жили прежде Хорреи; но сыны Исавовы прогнали их и истребили их от лица своего и поселились вместо их - так, как поступил Израиль с землею наследия своего, которую дал им Господь;
And in Seir dwelt the Horites in times past; and the children of Esau dispossessed them, and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did to the land of their possession, which Jehovah gave to them.)
13 итак встаньте и пройдите долину Заред. И прошли мы долину Заред.
Now rise up, and pass over the torrent Zered. And we passed over the torrent Zered.
14 С тех пор, как мы пошли в Кадес-Варни и как прошли долину Заред, минуло тридцать восемь лет, и у нас перевелся из среды стана весь род ходящих на войну, как клялся им Господь Бог;
Now the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we had come over the torrent Zered, were thirty-eight years; until the whole generation of the men of war was consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah had sworn unto them.
15 да и рука Господня была на них, чтоб истреблять их из среды стана, пока не вымерли.
Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.
16 Когда же перевелись все ходящие на войну и вымерли из среды народа,
And it came to pass when all the men of war were consumed, having died off from among the people,
17 тогда сказал мне Господь, говоря:
that Jehovah spoke to me, saying,
18 ты проходишь ныне мимо пределов Моава, мимо Ара,
Thou art to pass this day over the border of Moab, [which is] Ar,
19 и приблизился к Аммонитянам; не вступай с ними во вражду, и не начинай с ними войны, ибо Я не дам тебе ничего от земли сынов Аммоновых во владение, потому что Я отдал ее во владение сынам Лотовым;
and come near over against the children of Ammon; thou shalt not distress them nor attack them; for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon a possession; for unto the children of Lot have I given it as a possession.
20 и она считалась землею Рефаимов; прежде жили на ней Рефаимы; Аммонитяне же называют их Замзумимами;
(That also is reckoned a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in time past, and the Ammonites call them Zamzummim;
21 народ великий, многочисленный и высокий, как сыны Енаковы, и истребил их Господь пред лицем их, и изгнали они их и поселились на месте их,
a people great, and many, and tall as the Anakim; and Jehovah destroyed them before them, and they dispossessed them, and dwelt in their stead;
22 как Он сделал для сынов Исавовых, живущих на Сеире, истребив пред лицем их Хорреев, и они изгнали их, и поселились на месте их, и живут до сего дня;
as he did to the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, from before whom he destroyed the Horites; and they dispossessed them, and dwelt in their stead, even to this day.
23 и Аввеев, живших в селениях до самой Газы, Кафторимы, исшедшие из Кафтора, истребили и поселились на месте их.
And the Avvites who dwelt in the hamlets as far as Gazah — the Caphtorim, who came out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.)
24 Встаньте, отправьтесь и перейдите поток Арнон; вот, Я предаю в руку твою Сигона, царя Есевонского, Аморреянина, и землю его; начинай овладевать ею, и веди с ним войну;
Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon. Behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the king of Heshbon, the Amorite, and his land: begin, take possession, and engage with him in battle.
25 с сего дня Я начну распространять страх и ужас пред тобою на народы под всем небом; те, которые услышат о тебе, вострепещут и ужаснутся тебя.
This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the peoples under the whole heaven; who will hear report of thee, and will tremble, and quake because of thee.
26 И послал я послов из пустыни Кедемоф к Сигону, царю Есевонскому, с словами мирными, чтобы сказать:
And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon the king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,
27 позволь пройти мне землею твоею; я пойду дорогою, не сойду ни направо, ни налево;
Let me pass through thy land: by the highway alone will I go; I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.
28 пищу продавай мне за серебро, и я буду есть, и воду для питья давай мне за серебро, и я буду пить, только ногами моими пройду
Thou shalt sell me food for money that I may eat; and thou shalt give me water for money that I may drink; I will only pass through on my feet,
29 так, как сделали мне сыны Исава, живущие на Сеире, и Моавитяне, живущие в Аре, доколе не перейду чрез Иордан в землю, которую Господь, Бог наш, дает нам.
— as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me, — until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God giveth us.
30 Но Сигон, царь Есевонский, не согласился позволить пройти нам через свою землю, потому что Господь, Бог твой, ожесточил дух его и сердце его сделал упорным, чтобы предать его в руку твою, как это видно ныне.
But Sihon the king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Jehovah thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obdurate, that he might give him into thy hand, as it is this day.
31 И сказал мне Господь: вот, Я начинаю предавать тебе Сигона царя Есевонского, Аморреянина, и землю его; начинай овладевать землею его.
And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I begin to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin, take possession, that thou mayest possess his land.
32 И Сигон царь Есевонский со всем народом своим выступил против нас на сражение к Яаце;
And Sihon came out against us for battle, he and all his people, to Jahaz.
33 и предал его Господь, Бог наш, в руки наши, и мы поразили его и сынов его и весь народ его,
But Jehovah our God gave him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and his whole people.
34 и взяли в то время все города его, и предали заклятию все города, мужчин и женщин и детей, не оставили никого в живых;
And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every city, men, and women, and little ones: we let none escape.
35 только взяли мы себе в добычу скот их и захваченное во взятых нами городах.
Only the cattle we took as booty for ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took.
36 От Ароера, который на берегу потока Арнона, и от города, который на долине, до горы Галаада не было города, который был бы неприступен для нас: все предал Господь, Бог наш, в руки наши.
From Aroer, which is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the ravine even to Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: Jehovah our God delivered all before us.
37 Только к земле Аммонитян ты не подходил, ни к местам лежащим близ потока Иавока, ни к городам которые на горе, ни ко всему, к чему не повелел нам Господь, Бог наш.
Only thou didst not approach the land of the children of Ammon, the whole border of the river Jabbok, nor the cities of the mountain, nor to whatsoever Jehovah our God had forbidden us.
