1 Basa naa ma, Lamatualain ola' no Yakob nae, “Au ia, Lamatualain fo mana utud'u ao ngga neu nggo, lele' mela hela a'a ma Esau. Ia naa, ho lali Betel muu leo. Losa naa, muririi mei tutunu-hohotu' fee Au. Ma leo muu naa leo.”
And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.
2 Basa ma, Yakob ola' no basa ume isi nara nae, “Ia naa, basa hita tae lao Betel teu. Ma'ahulu na, au mia sususa' rala, Lamatualain tulu-fali au mia naa. Au ae uririi mei tutunu-hohotu' sia naa. Dad'i ia naa, nggari hendi basa paton sosonggo' ra leo. Tao mimemeu ao mara, ma nggati bua-ba'u mara, te ata tae be'utee neu Lamatualain.”
Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6 Naa de, Yakob no atahori nara, losa Betel sia rae Kana'an no masod'a'. (Fe'esa'an, Betel, naran Lus).
So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.
7 Losa naa ma, Yakob lutu mbatu mei tutunu-hohotu'. Ana bab'ae mamana' naa, El Betel, (sosoa na ‘Betel Lamatualain na’), huu ma'ahulu na Lamatualain natud'u Ao na neu e sia naa, lele' ana nela mia a'a na.
And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.
9 Yakob bali' mia Padan Aram ma, Lamatualain natud'u Ao na fai, ma fee ne papala-bab'anggi'.
And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.
10 Lamatualain ola' nae, “Eni' a mia ia nema, nara ma, nda Yakob sa ena. Te, Au fee nara feu ma, naeni, Isra'el.
And God said unto him, Your name is Jacob: your name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be your name: and he called his name Israel.
11 Au ia, Lamatualain mana Koasa. De b'onggi mumuhefu leo! Mete te, nusa-nusa' ra rema mia tititi-nonosi mara. Ma ho b'onggi mane-mane' ra.
And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of you, and kings shall come out of your loins;
12 Nusa' fo Au fee neu ba'i Abraham ma amam Isak, ia naa Au fee neu nggo mo tititi-nonosi mara.”
And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to you I will give it, and to your seed after you will I give the land.
13 Lamatualain ola' basa ma, Yakob naririi rii fatu' esa sia naa, dad'i nesenened'a' neu Lamatualain hehelu-fufuli na. Boe ma, ana mbo'a oe anggor, no mina neu fatu a ata, de be'utee neu Lamatualain.
And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15 Ana bab'ae mamana' naa, Betel.
And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Bethel.
16 Basa naa ma, Yakob se lao hela Betel. Ara fe'e ra'ad'oo' ro Efrata (nara fea' na, Betlehem), te Rahel nae' a b'onggi ena. Te ana b'onggi susa.
And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17 Ana fe'e na'ananasa' ma, mana na'ab'ob'onggi' a nafad'e e nae, “Ina Rahel! Tao manggatetee rala ma, huu ina' hambu ana tou' esa fai!”
And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; you shall have this son also.
18 Rahel hahae na nae etu ma, ana bab'ae ana' naa, Ben-Oni, (sosoa na ‘ana doid'oso'’). Basa naa ma, ana mate boe. Te Yakob bab'ae ana' naa, Benyamin, (sosoa na ‘ana lima ona'’).
And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19 Basa ma, ara ra'oi Rahel sia dala' mana nae nisi' Efrata suu na (ia naa, Efrata naran Betlehem).
And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
20 Boe ma Yakob naririi fatu rates esa sia naa. Rahel fatu rates na naa, fe'e sia ia, losa fai' ia.
And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.
21 Basa naa ma, Yakob lali-lali' nakandoo' a. Lao esa, ana naririi lalaat deka ume kanaru ine' sa, naran Eder.
And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22 Ara fe'e leo sia naa ma, Ruben sunggu' no ama na sao tias na, Bilha. Ma Yakob o bub'ulu' dala' naa boe. Yakob ana mone nara sanahulu rua. Naeni,
And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23 Lea ana nara, Ruben (fo Yakob ana ulu na), Simeon, Lewi, Yahuda, Isaskar, ma Sebulon.
The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24 Rahel ana nara, Yusuf ma Benyamin.
The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25 Rahel ate na Bilha ana nara, Dan ma Naftali.
And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26 Ma Lea ate na Silpa ana nara, Gad, ma Aser. Ara b'onggi basa ana' naa ra sia Padan Aram.
And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.
27 Basa naa ma, Yakob neu se'u ama na Isak sia Mamre deka kambo Kiriat Arba (ale' ia, naran Hebron). Ma'ahulu na, ba'i Abraham o leo sia naa boe.
And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28 Isak nasod'a losa too natun esa falu nulu ma, ana mate. De ana na Yakob no Esau ra'oi e.
And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
And Isaac gave up the spirit, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
